The high school revenge

Meantime, Nedia was trying to find out anything about Noah. It's usually not hard to find an old friend from school, especially when you lived in a small town where all the kids go to the same school. That would also mean that you all grew up together, knowing each other well, and of course when you all finish school you'll probably know where your friends went — or at least who left town or who didn't.

For Nedia it was different. She did grow up with them and go to the same school and all of that. But she knew nothing about anyone. Well, she didn't know anything about them when they were in the same school; she'd surely not know anything now when she was miles away.

Nedia's parents still lived in the same house where their daughter grew up. Actually, Lisa and Jake Adams were very friendly people. Unlike their daughter, they were very social; they knew everyone in town. Especially her mom; Lisa knew everyone and everything going on in town. Lisa used to tease Nedia all the time, saying, "I'm a very social person; how come you're not like that?" Nedia used to feel bad about that, and it even felt worse when she compared her to her sister Jenna. Jenna was everything Nedia wanted to be. All her life she would look at her sister and say, "I wish I d be like her." Jenna was 3 years older than Nedia, popular in school, and after that she got married to her high school boyfriend Mark and gave birth to 2 girls. She never really left town. That's what Lisa wanted for her 2 girls, but Nedia was different. Lisa realized that and stopped arguing about it. She decided to let her do what she wanted, and what Nedia wanted was three things: leave town, be a successful designer and lose weight. These were her goals until the day everything changed.

The day Noah asked her out!

Nedia was so excited. Today was the last day of school. She was finally free, free to do what she wanted to do her whole life. Leave! Start a new life! A life of her own! She'd do it differently this time and would study hard; she'd take care of her looks and lose weight. It was going to be hard, but she knew she could do it. She promised herself she would.

Nedia walked into the school for the last time. Looking around her, she remembered almost every single moment she had spent there. She stood in the middle of the corridor and thought how different her life would have been if she had been popular! Oh, it would have been the best time in her life.

"Nedia," said a voice from behind. She ignored it at first and continued dreaming about what should have been the best years of her life.

"Nedia!" the same voice called again, louder this time.

She turned around to see who it was and her heart skipped a beat; it was Noah. God, he was the only guy she had ever loved and ever would love. Noah Mathew! they had gone to the same school almost all of their lives he was a very attractive guy; tall over 6 feet, black hair, dark blue eyes and a body that every girl would dream of for life.

When they had been in 3rd grade, she was the new girl in school. She was transferred from her old school because her dad got a new job and they had to move. Nedia's first day in school was scary. She was alone and she didn't know anyone there, but then a boy in her class came up to her.

"Hi, I'm Noah Mathew. You're the new girl, right?" he asked.

"Yes," was all she was able to say. He was so cute that she couldn't say a word.

"What's your name?" Noah asked.

"Nedia," she answered.

"Well, welcome to our school, Nedia," he said while shaking her hand.

"Than..." she was about to thank him when a girl came and stood beside him.

"Hey, is this the new girl?" she asked sarcastically.

"Yes, Jessy. This is Nedia..." and he turned to Nedia and said "Nedia, this is Jessy." Noah introduced them knowing exactly how Jessy would treat Nedia.

"Oh, hi there, Nedia, "Jessy said and then turned to Noah and said, "C'mon, Noah, lets go." She pulled his arm and they were gone.

That day, Nedia fell in love with Noah.

After that she found out that Noah, Jessy, Tom and 6 others were the most popular kids in school. Ever since that day, with Jessy always around, Noah became forbidden territory. They weren't together all the time but for the last 3 years, he had been going out with Jessy Johns, the beautiful cheerleader. They were the cute couple, the king and queen of the prom and all that stuff.

"Nedia, are you alright?" Noah asked sounding a little bit worried.

Nedia looked at him for a while, trying to find out if he really was standing there in front of her and that she was not dreaming about him again. But there he was, standing there sexy as hell and wanting to know what was wrong with her.

"Ahh, oh, sorry, yes I am fine," she said that in a low voice.

"Good, because I thought there was something wrong." Noah said as he leaned to look at her closely. The moment he did that Nedia stepped back quickly.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Noah asked again.

"Yes, thank you." Finally she was able to get her voice back. Then she waited for him to talk.

"Well, how are you?" Noah asked.

"Fine. You?" She said.

"I'm okay. Hey last day at school. You leaving for college?"

"Yes I am. What about you?" she asked, wondering why Noah Mathew is standing here asking her these questions.

"Yeah, I am leaving in few weeks. Can't wait to go actually."

"Same here." she answered honestly.

"Well, when are you leaving?" he asked. Again Nedia wandered why is he asking all that.

"In two months," Nedia said and then continued "Sorry Noah, but why are you asking me all these questions?" She just couldn't take it any more. Why was he asking her all these questions now?

"Well, I... I was wondering if you would go out with me next Saturday??"

Nedia was stunned. Noah was asking her out. OH GOD!

Then she remembered Jessy! He had a girlfriend. "You have a girlfriend, don't you??" she said.

"Not any more," he said, and then explained "We broke up."

"Oh," said Nedia. She couldn't believe this. Just when she thinks she is going to leave the school and everything behind, he asks her out! The guy she loves is asking her out.

"I don't know, Noah... I..."she started. But he stopped her.

"Look we have been in the same school for so long but we don't know anything about each other. I really want to get to know you Nedia. Please don't say no. "He was almost begging.

"Why do you want to go out with me now? We are both leaving in few weeks, why now?" she asked, feeling happy and confused at the same time

"I don't know, I just want to take you out, come on."

HE REALLY WANTS TO GO OUT WITH HER!

"Okay." The word came out of her mouth quickly.

"Okay then, I'll pick you up at 7," Noah said, grinning. "Bye for now, see you on Saturday." Then he turned around and left.

Nedia stood there for about 5 minutes, not really understanding what just happened.

She just agreed to go out with Noah!

"Oh my god! "She said that out loud.

After 4 years she could still remember it, as if it were yesterday. She could still remember how she felt and how excited she was about going out on a real date.

"Ha-ha," Nedia laughed harshly. Back then she didn't know that the date, and what happened afterwards, would change her life completely.

Nedia picked up the phone and dialed her parents' number.

"Hello," answered her mother's voice.

"Hey mom, how are you?" Nedia asked.

"Hey, honey, how is everything going? I'm fine. How is my little angel Nick?" Lisa asked. She loved Nick. Actually everybody loved Nick. When Nedia's parents found out she was pregnant, they were angry at first and then they were supportive.They were against Nedia when she insisted on going to college, but then her dad said she should do what she thought was right for herself. Of course no one out of the family knew about her pregnancy. Even her family didn't know the father; Nedia refused to tell anyone, preferring to keep it to herself.

"He is fine," Nedia answered. "Hey mom, can you do me a favor?"

"Sure honey, what is it?"

"I need someone's address: Noah Mathew. Do you remember him?"

"Oh yeah, I do isn't he the guy who married Jessy Johns?"

"He did?" Nedia didn't know that. She thought they got back together after her encounter with him, but she never thought they would end up married.

"Yeah, he did, and one year later they got divorced."

'Divorced! That means he is single, ' she thought to herself. "Well, maybe not!" she said aloud into the phone.

"What did you say honey?" her mom asked.

"Nothing mom. Does that mean he still lives back home?"

"No, he left right after the divorce."

"I see. So, can you get me his address or his number?" Nedia asked hopefully.

"I don't know. I'll try, tell you what. Call me tomorrow and I'll see what I can do." There was long silence, broken by her mom asking, "Why do you want to know?"

"Nothing mom, we just have some unfinished businesses. That's all," Nedia answered. Then she remembered quickly, "Mom, don't tell anyone it's me asking, okay? Just try to find out without mentioning me. I want it to be a surprise."

Nedia put down the phone and said, "A very big surprise Noah. You'll never see it coming."

She grabbed her things and went straight to the day-care to get Nick and go back home.
