Chapter Two
Lunch
Authors: Tsuki/Taiyo
After walking around the campus and asking where the Tsubaki building was located, Nataki finally managed to find it. He went inside the ivory colored building, finding himself in the majestic lobby of the edifice.
The ceiling was constructed in a dome shape giving it a higher feeling to the lobby. Exquisite frescoes of nature and divine themes seemed to come to life as they entwined creating a stunning story of the creation of the universe.
In the middle of the dome shaped ceiling a gigantic diamond and gold chandelier sparkled with the rays the sun scattered through the halls. The floor was made of the finest white marble and right under the chandelier, in the center of the lobby’s floor, the school emblem was embedded.
In the far end Nataki could see two passage ways and above them two set of stairs that met with each other. Nataki climbed the stairs and arrived to another long passage way filled with classrooms and offices. He walked towards the west wing of the building looking for another set of stairs to reach the third floor where his orientation was to be held.
After walking for a while, he found a stair case and climbed it arriving to the third and last floor of the building. Then he realized it was but another long corridor. He looked at his watch. ”It is 11:25AM. Great, I only have five minutes until the orientation starts; I hope the classroom is near by.” He was tired of walking and for a moment there he hesitated to keep going on. He sighed and filled him self up with new energy and set forth to complete his journey.
He realized that there were two more corridors and he had only two minutes to go, but luckily he found a teacher and asked him where the room he was looking for was located; the teacher was kind enough to take him to the room, making it possible for Nataki to arrive photo finish.
He opened the double wooden door and found him self in an amphitheater style class room. The room had three rows of chair; the left row, which was close to the windows; the middle row, which was surrounded by two stair ways and the right row, which was the one closest to the door.
The room was filled with the same students from the cruiser, including Brenda and her two followers. “Oh my gawd Brenda-sama, it’s that totally gorgeous guy from the ship!” Said the excited brown headed girl as Brenda looked at Nataki with hungry eyes. “Yes, Jennifer, I saw him already.” Brenda said in a sensuous way, licking her lips after answering her lackey. “Are you, like, going to totally talk to him Brenda?” Asked the red headed in an anxious tone of voice. “Of course Tiffany…” She stood up her chair and started making her way towards Nataki who was now sitting down in one of the chairs of the left row, in the file closest the podium.
As Brenda approached her target the door opened revealing a group of 6 boys led by a petit young man in a grey uniform. They walked towards the left row taking the last file of chairs for themselves.
The students didn’t know where to look; Brenda was going to make another approach to Nataki and the gang that just arrived where making a lot of noise. The petit young man looked at Brenda and where she was going and when he saw her target he was shocked. “Massaka!” He stood up suddenly, making the other students in his gang to stop what they were doing in the very instant. “Oyakata, nanada?” Asked a very tall student and buff looking student with a regular blue uniform from his gang; the grey uniformed student looked at Nataki with disbelief. “Nataki…”
The boy walked towards Nataki and so did the rest of his gang; Brenda had already arrived. “Well, hello again…” “Hi.” Nataki answered reluctantly. She sat down in the chair next to him. “What’s your name? I’m Brenda, Brenda Simmons; don’t you forget my name now.” She giggled. “Nataki.” He reacted awkwardly at the attention he was getting from the bothersome Brenda. “Well, I would like to know you better, after all, what better girl to know you than me.” “Really?” The boy was questioning her previous arrogant comment. “Yes, I am beautiful and refined and you know what the irony is?” “What?” He was started to zone out when she suddenly got a little to close as he moved back to prevent the approach. “So are you.” She got up suddenly. “You are like a prince.” She said in a very dramatic way while her two lackeys exalted her as she moved; Nataki sank in to his chair in embarrassment, not for him, but for the fact that she was embarrassing. “And I am your princess, Nataki!”
“You’re kidding.” He said in astonishment; he could not believe the Drama Queen his eyes were beholding.
She kneeled down. “I never kneel before anybody, Nataki, but, I would do anything if you went out with me tonight.” “What…” Sudden sparkles appeared around her. “If there’s a person in this academy that is worthy of going out with me, the great and beautifully perfect me, it’s you; Nataki-sama.” “Please Earth, swallow me, now.” If he sank any lower in to the chair he would have turned in to a ball and disappeared from the class room, but that was what he wished but obviously it wasn’t going to be granted. “What say you, my perfect Angel Prince; Tonight?” He was looking for the right words to cast her away from his sight and the two girls that came along with her as well.
“I….” As he was about to answer his was saved by a childish voice that came from the back. “Well, well. If it isn’t my girly cousin Nataki.” Nataki could recognize that voice anywhere. Brenda stood up and stepped back looking at the petit boy with anger; the boy who approached them was no more than 5’5”; his appearance was of that of a 13 year old; he was skinny, not slender, his face was childish but even though he looked so young he looked tough; his eyes shined with mischief, the fiery red of his eyes giving him a more malicious look; his hair was an unruly, spiky mane of ash gray hair that almost reached his shoulders. His uniform was inappropriately fixed; he walked with an air of greatness but unlike his minions he had style and refinement.
Nataki stood up and looked at the boy who was accompanied by the other six very tall and very buff students. Nataki rolled his eyes in annoyance. “Hello, Koji.” He greeted his cousin with poison and acid in his words. Koji signaled his subordinates to stop and as if trained by the military, they heeded. Koji then walked to Nataki and talked in a low tone of voice and a refined accent, very much different from the accent he had before. “What are you doing here Nataki? Do not tell me you actually got tired of being pampered?” Koji had a jeering smirk on his face. Nataki smiled forcefully not hiding either one of them the fact that they disliked each other very much. “No dear cousin, I just wanted more knowledge and the rest is none of you business.”
The Koji smiled triumphantly as he spoke in the slang tone he did before. “Anyway, Nataki, this is my turf, contrary to you everybody knows me here and they fear me; I’ve been in this school almost all my life on the other hand…” Koji pointed at Nataki “…you just arrived.” Nataki looked at his cousin act like an almighty being. “And that means, Koji?” He asked him in a sarcastic manner; Koji approached Nataki in a threatening manner, and in a low voice so only Nataki could hear him. “That I will make you’re experience here a living hell; nobody will protect you here Nataki. Your sister’s not here, your stupid sensei is not here and better yet your parents aren’t here either; it’s just you and I.” Koji backup and in his gangster way said “remember what I said cause and my gang will rough you up” As he mentioned his gang as if in queue they looked at Nataki in a threatening way.
“Koji, you know that in the past I never needed anybody to protect me, what makes you think I need protection now?” Even though Nataki sounded bored and said this in a sardonic way, Koji got nervous and stepped back. “We’ll see Nataki; this time I’ll really make you pay. I will make you wish your sister was here, I’ll make you wanna go home and you will go home, of course, crying.” Nataki closes his eyes in a tiresome way, he knows what Koji can do if gets serious, not that Nataki is afraid; it’s the trouble that Koji and he will cause. “Sure, Koji.” As he said this he sat down again and took out a note book from his book bag; seeing he was being ignored by Nataki, Koji and his gang walked towards their seat and from above he kept eyeing his cousin.
After the little incident Brenda looked at Nataki ignoring the world around him and walked away to her seat. “Brenda-sama, what are you going to do next?” asked Jennifer. “Well, for this plan I need Tiffany.” Tiffany cheerfully approached Brenda as Brenda uttered some words; Jennifer who wanted to know what they were planning decided to join the secret; the three girls started giggling as the door opened.
“Good morning students, welcome to a new semester.” The students, seeing the professor arrive started taking their seats and taking their note books out. “Well, let us start.” The teacher approached the podium, took out of it a small box and stood on it now being able to see them and use the podium correctly.
The professor looked Indian, he was about 4’8” and was going bald but he looked like a good teacher and a good person.
“Well, students, they tell me that we have two new students this semester.” He looks around. “Mayo Nataki.” Nataki raised his hand. “Can you please step in front of the class and introduce yourself to the students.” The teacher asked in a warm and calm tone of voice; his Indian accent making it sound even more polite.
Nataki smiled in response and walked to the front standing next to the podium, while Brenda and her friends clapped and swooned and Koji and his gang booed him; he paid no mind to them. “Students, please, behave and let’s give Mayo-san a good welcome.” As soon as he was about to speak the door opened revealing five security guards, two of them grabbing Tsukiyo by his arms and another one carrying his book bag.
The teacher stepped off the podium and walked towards the approaching guards. “Excuse me, but is this really necessary, Hanajima?” The teacher questioned Hanajima, the same guard that took Tsukiyo in the cruiser port. “He tried to escape; he should have stayed and kept quiet.” Tsukiyo was still panting from the chase; the guards were no different, except Hanajima. Brenda seeing her “attacker” in this situation she smiled with satisfaction and so did her three lackeys.
“Why is he so dirty?” Tsukiyo looked at the teacher and then at Hanajima; he couldn’t take this anymore, so he released him self from their grip. The guards reacted defendant but the teacher stopped them. “You will not continue this atrocity in my class room! Hanajima leave at once.” The students rebelled against Hanajima. “Yeah Hanajima, go away!”
“Here, this is warning, given by Fujita-san.” The teacher took it and walked towards his podium.
From his briefcase he took a small computer, smaller than a lap top of course, and passed the same transparent card that they gave Tsukiyo not even an hour ago. “This warning is for smoking and cutting class?” Tsukiyo, who was shaking the dust off his white shirt, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I admit I was smoking, but I wasn’t cutting class. My intention was to smoke a cig and walk to class right after it, that’s all.”
Hanajima looked at him with anger. “Then why did you run away?” Tsukiyo looked at him with weariness. “Listen, I am so sick of you and your harassment. If you think that by taking it on me because I insulted your beloved Brenda and put her in her place and on top of it all I wear a black uniform you’re gonna collect points with her and your boss, you’re wrong. I will not take yours or anybody’s shit, do you understand?” Hanajima and Brenda reacted in the same way; they were both embarrassed and angry.
Brenda stood up. “Why you little piece of garbage!”
“You will regret that, boy! Take it back!” Tsukiyo started buttoning his shirt and looked at Hanajima with indifference. “Nope, I will not take it back. I can smell your greed from miles away and her lust too; in other words you both stink.” The whole class room gasped.
In the farthest corner of the right row, the official commentators, Zen and Z-tone, shared with each other their thoughts about this incident. “Yo man, this guy’s definitely weird.” Z-tone said as Zen looked like he was studying the situation. “You know Z-tone, this guy really has cojones.”
“Yamaguchi will hear from this Yumekamino!” Hanajima pointed in anger. “Leave my class room Hanajima!” The teacher attacked. “Bupradma, keep defending the students and you’ll always be a mere teacher!”
“Hanajima harassed the teacher.”
“Keep on doing this Hanajima and you won’t have a job! Now go!”
Hanajima left not with out throwing another hateful glare at Tsukiyo. “Well, students…Brenda sit down.”
“What?”
“Sit down, I will continue class now.” Brenda sat down looking at Tsukiyo with hate, but then again she looked at the boy of her dreams who was standing next to Tsukiyo and her anger faded away.
“Very well, now Yumekamino-san, as I told Mayo-san before, I would like the new students to introduce themselves to the class. Are you feeling up to it, Yumekamino-san?” Tsukiyo looked at the teacher hesitantly. “Yeah…yeah I do.”
“Well, you first Mayo-san.” Nataki stepped forward. “Ohayou; Watashi wa Mayo Nataki desu. I am 16 years old; I come from planet Silver in the Eden Galaxy; it is a pleasure to meet you.” Nataki said in a very refined and graceful manner, finishing with a bow. After he introduced himself he stepped back to where he was standing next to Tsukiyo.
Tsukiyo looked at Nataki. “I will make you pay for ratting me out you pompous bastard!” In his eyes this could be reflected. “Yumekamino-san?” Tsukiyo walked forward and stood in the same spot Nataki stood when he introduced himself. Tsukiyo in a counter post pose, resting his left hand on his belt, lowering his pants a little bit and showing some skin; this made the females wild and some men as well. “Yoh, my name is Yumekamino Tsukiyo; I’m 16 years old…that’s about it, Yoroshiku.” Many girls started swooning at the sound of his deep voice and his sex appeal. “Wow, I don’t know who to choose” said a female student with a sky blue uniform sitting next to Brenda and her gang. “Yeah, they are both beautiful.” said another female student with a purple uniform. “I like Mayo-kun.” Said a cute looking girl with a yellow uniform; when Brenda heard this she stood up and screamed at her. “Nataki is mine!”
The students looked at her surprised and the teacher looked at her sternly. Tsukiyo looked at Nataki and smiled mockingly; Nataki turn red and wanted to hide but he looked at Tsukiyo who was making fun of him; Nataki frowned at Tsukiyo on the other hand to this reaction Tsukiyo looked at him playfully and just winked at Nataki; Nataki turn even more red from the embarrassed. The teacher put his hand on his forehead and sighed. “This is going to be a rough year.”

The orientation lasted one hour and thirty minutes; it was already 1PM. The students came out of the orientation and walked along the halls gathering with other friends in order to walk towards the cafeteria. Nataki, who exited the classroom in a hurry, just followed the masses hoping that they would guide him to the cafeteria. Tsukiyo, on the other hand, was stopped by the teacher who talked to him about the incident; the teacher proved to Tsukiyo to be a good teacher, even though he still didn’t trust him, but at the very least the teacher was kind enough to tell him how to reach the cafeteria.
Nataki arrived to the cafeteria after following a group of students. He entered the large room that looked more like a huge French café than a cafeteria. The place was filled with groups of students in each table. The tables were long and they were made of metal and marble; the legs of the tables and chairs were made of opaque steel that made them look like antiques; the patterns of the metal were those of entwined vines with beautiful leaves and flowers.
The walls were like most of the walls in all the buildings he had entered; they were tall, but the exception of this new room was that the walls were filled with huge glass windows that made it possible for the students to behold its magnificence. The place where the students chose their food was spotless and it had a very complete salad bar.
Nataki walked towards the tray holder and grabbed one. He notices that most of the students have light blue or dark blue uniforms, the amount of students with other colors are scarce; out of 100% of students, only a 5% wears other colored uniforms. He wears a white uniform and he knows why, Tsukiyo wears a black one and he knows why too, but he remembered that Koji was wearing a grey one. “So, my cousin actually has a special ability? I wonder what it is.” He moves in the line and looks back and sees Koji and his gang in grabbing their trays. “Oh, no speaking of the devil.”
Koji sees Nataki and walks towards him. “Oh god, why me?”
“Well, well Nataki, came here to eat?” Nataki looks at Koji and sweat drops to his cousin stupid remark. “O.K Koji, why would else would I come to a cafeteria if it’s not to eat?” Koji grinned. “I don’t know you tell me.” After his mockery and his moronic “come back” he started laughing along with his gang. “Koji, I don’t know how is it you got in to this school, but it must have been a miracle by the gods. But, can you do me a favor and leave me alone?” His cousin, after hearing this insult stopped laughing instantly, so did his gang, eyeing him mercilessly. Koji’s gang reacted in a volatile form, Nataki being able to almost see the speed lines in their movement as the wailed undignified. “How dare you insult the great Koji-Sama!!!?” Screamed one gang member who displayed a taken care off Pompadour; in Koji’s face, anger faded as his expression was taken over by embarrassment. The people in the line looked at Nataki and the gang. “Koji-Sama is a very intelligent man!” A gang member with a punk hair style defended his leader. “Listen, I really do not doubt it, but, what else would I do in a Cafeteria other than eat; besides I have a tray in my hands and I am in the line, for the god’s sake.” After clarifying his statement Nataki advances in the line.
“Oyakata, we will always stand by your side.” The gangster with the punk reassured Koji, while another thug, wearing a trench coat instead of the stipulated uniform jacket, approached his leader. “Leader, just tell us and we will break his legs to avenge your name.” Koji glares at Nataki and signals his men to stop. “Don’t worry guys, he’s mine, but for now….let’s eat.” As his gang walked away Koji came up to Nataki and in his original accent “I know you and I don’t like each other but, don’t piss off remember you’re not home any more” As if nothing happened he walk back to his gang and joking around; Tsukiyo, who was behind them, was stunned by their behavior. “Pathetic.” He said to himself as he sweat dropped.
The line advanced and Nataki finally got his food; a combination of mashed potatoes, stake with mushroom sauce and some vegetables, everything in small portions, an orange soda and for dessert a small piece of cheese cake. He looked around looking for a peaceful place to sit down and found an empty table; he looked at the table reassured and walked towards it. Once arriving he sat down as he put his tray on the table and began eating his food in a very polished manner.
After a while Tsukiyo, who was tracking Nataki down, lost him. “Damn it, where is he?” He mumbled as he waited for his food to be made. “Here you go young man; a bacon cheese burger, French fries soda and chocolate mousse.” The lunch lady gave him his plate. “Thanks.” He took it and left the serving area, looking all over the place for his target; Nataki. “Where the hell is that blabber mouth at.” He, again, mumbled to himself as he started to walk searching for him in the huge room. A girl approached Tsukiyo in a timid way. “Anno…?” He looked down and saw a very cute girl with a light blue uniform. “Yeah?” He answered in a casual tone. “You…are you….?” He closed his eyes and smiled softly. “No, I’m not lost and I’m actually looking for someone.” He opened his eyes to see the girl’s face taken over by a pink shade. “Well…who…?” He looked around and spotted him in a lonely table eating his lunch. “Don’t worry…” An impish grin took over the soft, amicable one he had seconds ago. “…I already found him.” He left the girl, who was now confused.
Tsukiyo walked towards Nataki in a very calm way. “He will pay for ratting me out.” He reached the table and sat down. Nataki looked at him and, as if nobody important just sat down, he kept on eating. Tsukiyo seeing his attitude sat down roughly and took a sip of his soda. “Why did you do it?” He asked in a demanding tone; Nataki was confused at the origin of his answer. “Why did I do what?” Nataki asked as he reached for a napkin and wiped his mouth. “Why did you rat me out?” Tsukiyo took a French fry and looked at him as if demanding a specific answer. “Excuse me but I really don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tsukiyo approached him, still sitting, insistently. “Don’t give me that B.S., you pansy-blabber mouth-prick, I know you told on me!” Nataki was now getting slightly irritated. “I really don’t know what you’re talking about or the reason why you just insulted me, Sakura Boy.” When Tsukiyo heard this he fumed right away. “O.K, listen well you frigging snob, thanks to you I was chased through out the whole Blue Sakura place and thrown on the floor by six security guards! The only person that knew where I was was you!” Tsukiyo fumed; Nataki was undignified. “I did not do such a thing!” Tsukiyo smiled scornfully letting his body do part of the talking as he spitted more accusing words at the confused and humiliated Nataki. “You think that I’ll actually believe you?! You really have some nerve, huh Spoiled Brat?”
“Spoiled Brat?! Well, that does it, Sakura Boy! I did not tell anybody where you were, why would I? I could care less where you are and what you do! For all I care you could be stealing a bank and I would never tell anybody where you are because frankly I do not care, Sakura Boy!”
Every body was already noticing the argument, since with out them even knowing they were standing up as they exchanged insults and accusations. “Stop CALLING me SAKURA BOY!” Tsukiyo hit the table with both hands, leaning on it, looking at Nataki with fiery eyes. “Oh shit, what has Nataki gotten him self in to?” Koji looked from the table behind with his eyes wide open.
Nataki looked at Tsukiyo with a calm yet irritated demeanor. “I will call you Sakura Boy as long as you continue insulting me and calling me names, Sakura Boy and since you do not know how to respect people I will not respect you…SA-KU-RA-BO-Y.” Tsukiyo lowered his head and as if trying to contain something from coming out he scratched the table, leaving the marks on the marble. “What?” Nataki looked at the marks. “I told you…” A strange purplish energy started flowing around Tsukiyo as his hair flowed with it; every body around them started moving away as they watched in awe the display of power. Nataki moved back; Koji just stared in awe while his gang was just shocked. “…not to call me…” Tsukiyo stood up straight with his eyes closed. “….SAKURA BOY!!!!” In the same instant he uttered the hated insult he opened his eyes releasing the energy in a vortex like motion that began from his feet up till the roof, sweeping everything away and blowing all the windows away; the tables ended in the garden as some students blew with the powerful wave and others grabbed on to secure thing such as the counters in the food area; Nataki raised his hands in a protective way and a white energy came forth creating a shield, that by chance protected the startled gang and Koji.
After the vortex the next thing Nataki saw coming towards him was Tsukiyo attacking him with a flying kick; Nataki moved to the left dodging the attack. Tsukiyo landed and sprung right at him with a low kung fu punch while Nataki just dodge the attack in a calm way but right after the low punch a high punch was heading towards his face. Nataki didn’t expect this, but luckily his reflexes reacted in the nick of time; as the punch passed by his face he could feel the force in stored in them making his glasses be blown away by it.
Nataki looked at his attacker’s eyes; his eyes had turned bloody red. Nataki saw a strange darkness in them, a darkness that felt strange yet familiar. “This man! He is really strong! His eyes changed colors…what is he? ”
