Chapter 3- A little Confrontation
Ta’nisha walked into work late on Monday morning. She had been off of schedule the whole weekend all because of some guy. That was exactly why she didn’t date. Guys did not do anything good for her life. In fact if she was not so put off by it she would become a lesbian. That was just how much she hated Kevin Jackson. When she thought about the way he stood her up and didn’t even call she just wanted to hunt him down and cut off his dick. That would teach him for messing with her. He played her in a major way. She didn’t know why he called her if he planned to just stand her up like that. That was exactly why she didn’t like Tamara setting her up. “Shit,” she yelled when she couldn’t get the file cabinet opened. This just was not her day and to top it of she had to attend a function tonight for her job. It seemed that SoSo Def records was having another promotion party and her magazine got top pick of those in attendance. To bad they couldn’t find someone else to go. To be honest she didn’t know why the company always requested her. She did terrible work on the articles and she did not sleep with any of the rappers. So all in all she was a party popper.
She knew she would be even worst tonight because of what happened over the weekend. All he had to do was call her and she would have understood. She could be reasonable when she wanted to be. “Shit,” she said again just because she wanted to and she deserved to because of her terrible life. After the file cabinet still would not open she called it a day and left to head home. “Guess I’ll just sulk at home,” she grabbed her keys and headed to the door.

“I swear if he calls one more time.” Ta’nisha was sitting in her living room trying to watch her new favorite channel, Lifetime, when Kevin suddenly called. The first time she answered it without looking at her caller Id.
“Thank god you answered. I’m so sorr-………..” that was all he could get in before she suddenly hung up.
“A little too late for sorry.” She said to the phone as it kept ringing. After the fifth time of him calling she decided to put on the answering machine. She could hear her voice in the background. “…-you know what to do,” ‘beep’.
“Ta’nisha I know you are there or the answering service would have not came on this time. Look I’m sorry, I should have called, but something suddenly came up and I didn’t have time to call… no wait, I mean I didn’t make time. I just wanted you to know that I am so sorry and I was wondering if we could-……” ‘Beep.'
“Just in time,” she thought. She knew he was not trying to ask her to give it another shot because the answer would always be no. She was about to turn the machine off, but the phone started ringing again. “Hey this is Ta’nisha…. You know what to do,” ‘beep’.
“Ok I ran out of time last time, but what I was saying was that I want us to try one more time. Met me at a park or something or better yet meet me at this new coffee shop. You know what I am talking about because we talked about it before. You remember the night…..wait I am run-…” ‘Beep.' Ta’nisha laughed to her self because she knew he was going to call again and just when she said that the phone rang. “We are going to be doing to all day I guess.”
“…..you know what to do.” ‘Beep.'
“Okay this is starting to be funny, but I can do this all day. You should see the people laughing at me right now in my office. If you were here right now you would probably be laughing right with them. I would really like to hear you laugh. Meet me Ta’nisha. I can get off in about a hou-…..” ‘Beep.'
Ta’nisha was kind of mad when the machine cut off that time. For some odd reason she was actually thinking about meeting him. When a minute had passed by she thought he was not going to call back, but then the phone rung. She was so close to just picking up and telling him that she would meet him, but she thought better off it. She felt it was much better for him to sweat like she did on Saturday.
“….You know what to do,” ‘beep’.
“Sorry, but I couldn’t get the damn phone to work. Anyway I am going to be fast this time. Meet me in about an hour at the coffee house. I’ll be waiting I hope you show up. Oh and I will be the one that looks all nervous and stuff. Well bye. I know the service is going to go off in a min-…..” ‘Beep.'
“Now I know he is not going to call back just to say minute,” Ta’nisha got up and went to replay her messages, but right when she was about to push the button the phone rang again. She ran to look at the caller id and smiled. Sure enough Kevin was calling again.
“This is Ta’nisha…You know what to do.” ‘Beep.'
“I just wanted to all because I know you would probably laugh. Yea I did call to say minute. So yea I do like you that much, to just be laughed at and not care. Remember meet me in an hour and mostly remember that I am sorry. I really want to see you Ta’nisha. Bye, see you soon.” ‘Beep.” She heard him hang up on his end before she finally stopped smiling.
Ta’nisha might have been stupid, but she knew an apology when she heard it and five phone calls was a great start. She was so going to be at that shop. She looked at herself in a mirror, “But you are not wearing this, “She ran into the room to find something that would make a great first impression.

Kevin arrived at the shop before Ta’nisha he thought. He looked around for her, but didn’t see anyone that looked like the person until the front door opened revealing the most enchanting goddess he had ever laid eyes on. Pictures really did nothing for her. He thought she looked good in a picture, but she was so much better up close. He loved the way she wore her hair pulled back in a clip with a few pieces hanging around her face. Then to top it off she was wearing a sun dress that made her legs look like they went on for days and when she took off her sun glasses he was greeted with the sexiest pair of eyes God had ever made. He stood up and waved her over. He noticed her stop and look him up and down before starting to walk again. He also noticed the way she smiled just a little when she when she looked at his body.
“Kevin?” She asked although she already knew the answer.
“Nice to finally meet you Ta’nisha,” he knew that was not the right think to say when she sat down and looked at him calmly.
“We would have met sooner if you didn’t stand me up.” She looked him straight in the eye as calmly as she could. “So you wanted to explain yourself. Well, go.” She folded her arms waiting for him to begin.
“Well something important came up.” That was actually all he could say. He didn’t know how to explain that his ex was back in town and decided to surprise him on Saturday. Tyra had always had bad timing when it came to him. She just popped up out of the blue and he didn’t know how to explain that to Ta’nisha without her thinking that he had had something going on with his ex.
“Which is?” She still looked at him as calmly as possible.
“Nothing important. Just some stuff,” he knew he was losing her fast. “Hey why don’t we forget about Saturday and start fresh.”
“You know what you are so right. I will start fresh,” she pushed her chair back and stood up, “With somebody else. Good bye Kevin.” She put her glasses back on and walked out the door the same wait she walked in, with much pride and class.
All Kevin could say was, “Damn.”

okay so we are finally getting into the story. I still have some more stuff to say about them before I get to the good stuff. I also want you guys to see how bad Kevin and Tyra's realtionship was. So stay tuned.
