Chapter 2 The Kidnapping

Blood Dripping Roses
Chapter 2 The Kidnapping

The whole day for Ebony seemed to go by with a blur. Finally she found that no more tears for her boyfriend could be shed. None of her classes seem to keep her attention. The warning of failing all of her class from being depressed came to mind. But Ebony didn\'t seem to care if she failed or not. So what if she wasn\'t given the chance to walk across the stage at her graduation? After all, life seemed to be over for her now that Cory was dead.

Amy and Neely tried thier best to get Ebony out to the mall or to the back to school party.
\"Why not Ebony? Amy begged. \"You need to get out more! Go somewhere, do something. Move on with your life.
But like always, Ebony told a lie to keep Amy and Neely off her back.
\"I\'ve got...a lot of work to do at home. Maybe some other time.\"
(Am I losing my friends too?) Ebony had wondered to herself as she sat watch the river at the park after school.

She remembered how often she and Cory would spend time there. If you came to the park at the right time, you could see the sun shine down through the trees giving off a perfect gold ray through the trees. In the springtime, Cherry Blossom trees would grow; the pink petals flying all around the park. It was a perfect romantic place for any couple, young and old. But Ebony knew that no longer would Corry see this place. And sit there with her, not really saying much of anything, just enjoying his time there.

Tears once again begin to roll down Ebony\'s cheek as she remembered the first time Cory had kissed her. Of course he accidentally bit her lips and drew blood. But at the time, Ebony didn’t care what he did.

\"This is a lovely place.\" said a voice from behind her.
Ebony quickly wiped her tears away and looked up to see a guy she knew saw before. He stared down at her with a gentle smile. His short hair was gelled up and he crossed his powerful looking arms.

\"Ebony Millers right?\" he asked cooking his head to the side.
\"Huh yes. That’s me. Who are you?\"
\"I\'m Tommie. Mind if I join you?\"
Tommie sat down next to her, not waiting for an answer.
\"You might not want to sit with me Tommie. I do nothing but cry now-a-days.\" Ebony admitted drawing her kneels up to her chest.

\"I could understand why. Your were that guy, Cory Hayward’s, girlfriend right?\"
\"Yeah.\"
\"You ran into me this morning. I wanted to ask you then but you looked very upset at the time.\"
Ebony looked over at Tommie noticing his odd accent.

\"Yeah, I was.\" She looked back at the water. \"I cry all the time now. It\'s like every time I think about Cory, waterfalls seem to happen. His death was so strange. I’ve never heard of something like that happening to anyone. There were two dots on his neck the police said that his blood was drained from. Like a vampire. And there wasn\'t a drop of blood left in his body. Also like a vampire. The whole thing was named a Vampire Crime scene. Once everything got into the news papers, all these so called vampire experts and hunters came here, trying to get a piece of the story from me, because I was the last to see him seconds before he fell to the floor. The case was closed due to the confusion of proof and the large amount of people, due to the crime, were coming into the once quiet little town.\"

\"Do you believe?\"
Ebony looked at Tommie. \"Believe in what?\"
\"In vampires?\" Tommie said with a slight smile on his face.
\"Vampires are not real. Don\'t be stupid.\" She said looking away.
\"Then how do you explain your boyfriend\'s death?\"
\"Like this, a crazy person did it.\"
Growing tried of the conversation and seeing that it was getting dark, Ebony stood up and brushed the grass of her jeans.

\"It\'s getting late and I really need to get home. It was nice talking to you Tommie.\" Ebony said as she began to walk away.
\"Do you want me to walk you home?\" she heard Tommie ask from behind.
\"No, it\'s only a few blocks away.\" she lied.

~~~***o***~~~
The night air was crisp and cool against Ebony\'s skin. Only the moon and the tall lampposts lit the way down the long sidewalk. To her surprise, all of the blocks that she walked on seemed to be very quiet and empty with no one around. But Ebony didn\'t seem to mind this at all.
(Maybe I need to start trying to get my mind off of Cory a while. He wouldn\'t want me to be so unhappy all the time like this.)
Ebony suddenly jumped and spun around at the sound of glass breaking. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that was nothing but a lamppost had broken and went out. She turned back around and continued on her way.
(I think I\'ll hang out with Amy and Neely tomorrow. After all, they have been good friends and have been trying to help me out a lot. I owe them a-)
Another sound of glass breaking made Ebony freeze. She slowly turned around to see that the lamppost next to the other had broken had too. Ebony was about to start walking again when suddenly; all the lampposts seem to explode. She screamed and fell to her kneels as Ebony was suddenly left in total darkness.
Breathing hard, Ebony slowly got to her feet and looked around.
(What in the hell is going one!?) She question as she slowly got to her feet.
As she turned around and looked behind her, she gasped as she could make out the shadow of a tall figure walking up to her. Ebony baked up a few paces, wishing she had some type of weapon to fight the person off. Or better yet, be able to see.
\"Ebony Millers.\" the dark figure said in a deep voice.
\"How the hell do you know my name!?\" Ebony demanded angrily and a little frightened.
\"I just received a phone call that your were walking about. Now that it has been confirmed that you are here, I have come to take you now. Now if you would come with me-\"
Before the man could finish, Ebony took off running, putting her years on the track team into work. She didn\'t dare look back, only hoped her legs would carry her the rest of the way and that the man was not following.
Finally her two story house came into view. She fumbled with her keys at the lock, burst into the house, and slammed the door, locking it beyond her.
“Mom?! Dad?!” Ebony shouted through the house, but didn’t get any answer.
Sighing to herself, Ebony slid down the door, pulling a hand through her black hair.
(What was that all about!? Who was that guy!? And how did her know my name!? Was that Tommie playing a joke on me?)
Ebony stood back up and peeked out the peek hole to see if he had followed her and saw nothing but her empty, dark porch.
(Maybe I should call the police and tell them I was followed? No, I guess that would be stupid because he didn’t do anything.)
Checking to see if the door was locked for a second time, she made her way to the living. When she reached up on the wall and flipped on the light, her scream rang through the air as she saw a man sitting down on her sofa.
“What took you so long Milady? I’ve been here for 5 minutes.” He said grinning. Ebony quickly noticed that it was the voice from the guy outside.
Reaching over to the side, she picked up her lamp.
“Get out of my house!!” Ebony screamed as she threw the lamp at him. The man laughed as he knocked the lamp away from his face in mid air.
Ebony dashed for the door, the man close behind her. Running up to the door, she tugged on it, forgetting she had locked her. Her hands shock so bad that she fumbled for the lock, wishing she hadn’t locked it. Finally the door was unlocked and she pulled it opened. But a hand flashed on the other side of her face, closing the door, and slamming Ebony up against the door from behind.
“Be still!” he hissed in her ear.
But Ebony was determined to get away. She threw her head back, hitting the man’s lower lip hard. He cursed in pain and stumbled away, giving her the chance to flee. She gave up the door and went for the stairs, but the stranger had regained himself and halfway up the stairs grabbed Ebony’s foot and she fell face first in the stairs, busting her lip.
She managed to claw away from her attacker because he didn’t have a good grip on her ankle, making it to her bedroom and locked the door. As soon as Ebony reached the other side of her room to try her window, the man was suddenly at her door, banging and cursing. His attempt to get into her room was so loud and violent that it shook the walls and pictures in her room.
“Leave me alone!!” Ebony screamed when the door flew open and the man came through it.
With speed that couldn’t even be seen, the attacker leapt across the bed and grabbed Ebony’s shoulders, tossing her to the bed. Leaning down over her, he pulled out a blade and held it to her neck, the sharpness of it made Ebony go stiff.
“You were more trouble than you were wroth Milady! Don’t move!” the man said as his hot breath swept across her face.
“Get what you came for and please leave!! I won’t tell the police you were here! I promise!” Ebony pleaded as she closed her eyes.
“That so nice of you to offer. But I came for you Milady and no, you won’t be telling the police because you won’t be here.”
The man smiled as he stood up pointing the sharp dragger at Ebony.
-“Don’t even think about running.” He said as he pulled out a cell phone from his pocket.
As the man dialed, Ebony tried to see the number, but she was too late as he placed it to his ear.
“Yeah…yes…it’s me Ezekiel. I have her now. We’re ready. Do you know where the house is? Good…right.”
Ebony sat up on the bed as the man named Ezekiel put his phone away. “Ready? Ready for what?” She question.
Ezekiel looked down at her. “You don’t know?” he paused to laughed. “Why Milady, you’ve been sold.”
