Chapter 3
He’s in love with you,” Gabriel said closing the door.
“What!” I gasped turning around to face him.
“That boy Brian is in love with you. I can hear it in his voice and see it in his eyes. He loves you and that worries me,” Gabriel said with a frown.
“What, afraid he’s going to steal me away from you?” I joked.
“No, that out of jealousy he’ll run to Steve and tell him I was at your house all night,” Gabriel said falling strangely, and broodingly quiet.
“There’s something you’re not telling me. What is it?” I asked with worry.
“You know me too well. Yes there is something else, I can’t believe I didn’t notice before!” Gabriel said exasperated.
“Gabriel you’re scaring me, again! Now tell me what is wrong before I have to beat it out of you.”
“Bronwyn we have a problem.”
“Yes, I know, you wont answer my fucking question! What in the hell is wrong?” I shouted.
“I’m afraid that your friend Brian is also a werewolf.”
“What!” I asked dumbfounded.
“I didn’t notice his scent before. I must have written it off as Zeus or something.”
“Wait…wait, Brian’s a werewolf. You’re positive?”
“Yes.”
“That can’t be. He’s always been weak, that’s one of the reasons I got to know him. I stood up for him all of the time. Is he part of Josh’s pack or yours?”
“No, he doesn’t have a pack. I think he’s a loner looking for a mate.”
I looked at Gabriel and he met my stare.
“You mean Brian can claim me too?” I asked.
“Technically yes although he doesn’t have enough power to ever get you. If he had a pack or influential group backing him he could equal Josh’s claim. You’re mighty popular Bronwyn.”
“You sound nervous and I don’t like that. I don’t like that at all.”
“Hurry up and pack, be sure to grab your pendant. The sooner I turn you the better. At least then you’ll be able to protect yourself from the advances of my competition.”
“You know you don’t have any competition in my eyes,” I whispered. Then Gabriel comes and stands in front of me and tilts my chin up gently.
“I know that darling but in the Council’s eyes I have more competition than you know, so much more than you know.”
“What!” I gasped turning around to face him.
