Liana rushed through the stone hallways, trying to find the entrance, trying to find the supposedly bleeding Stefan. Finally she found the arch that indicated where she was and there lying on the floor, being attended to by Bella, was Stefan. He looked pitiful, deep dark circles under his huge green eyes, and a constant stream of blood pouring out of his mouth. Bella turned and snapped “go with the others, they’re outside”. As much as she desperately wanted to stay and help, Liana knew Sonny would literally kill her if she didn’t fight. So she went up to the seemingly solid stone wall under the archway and said the password.
“media noche”
The illusion of stone crumbled away to reveal the darkness of night in the park. Yes, the cave was in a park, but whatever. They were not going to be moving any time soon. Liana rushed out into the open space only to find a dumfounded Sonny surrounded by Patrickeo, Lauries, Nickolai, and Senna, all equally jumpy. There was no one else there.
“they could be hiding, waiting for our guard to be let down”, said Patrickeo
“no its not their style, they don’t like being sneaks”.
Liana announced her presence at once.
“how would you know Sonny, its not like you’ve lived with them right?”
He turned, annoyed and walked up to her shaking his finger
“you know Ana, that’s no way how to handle such a situation as this, you have to think like them, pretend you’re the enemy”
Great, it was one of his how-to-do-this speeches.
“Number one, don’t call me Ana, number two we don’t have time for roleplaying, your brother is bleeding to death.”, she said right in his face.
The others stood quietly, watching the two bicker and argue about stupid and useless things.
“that isn’t even the proper way to hold a knife!”
“shove it Sonny, I can hold my knife any way I want to hold it!”
“you know what, I should of just left you for the ghosts so they could rape you and kill you, then maybe you wouldn’t be such a damn problem!”, Sonny screamed.
There was a huge pause as his words echoed through the cold dank night. Liana looked at his flaming red face in fear and surprise. He hated her that much? She dropped the knife and ran. She ran as fast as she could away from it. Why did problems seem to follow her? Did she ask for them? Liana could hear Absinthisine shouting for her to come back, but it would be no use. She was going far away and hide and die on the streets as planned. They didn’t even run after her. She finally escaped the boundaries of the park, the family’s territory and was pushed out into the open, the ghost floor. Her feet made the way to an alley, and she collapsed on the floor and gasped for air. Thinking that the world was against her, Liana fell asleep. But this was only the beginning.
