Switching Positions
A rush of cold air entered the club as the back door opened to allow both to step out into the alley. Once again the cool steel of the gun moved to her neck and carefully pushed her forward, causing the unbalanced woman to stumble forward. \'Keep moving.\' The voice described the man in all that he was; laid back but strict, funny but serious, seductive but calm. He did not care at this moment if he was being rough to the woman, his job did not specify that she was to be treated kindly; only place her under arrest safely and quickly.
Eyes looked ahead before the woman turned on a heel to glare at the man, ignoring the fact that a gun was pointed at her and his finger rested on the trigger. ‘Who are you?’ Tone was that of fear and the animal instinct of ‘fight or flight’ kicked in as she became highly aware of her situation. A yelp escaped her lips as she was forced roughly into a corner as her ‘kidnapper’ made his way to a nearby dumpster and produced a sealed trash-bag from its depths which out of it was pulled a sweater shoving it into her arms. ‘Put this on.’ The voice was a low growl and it was one that Rae would not test at the moment, perhaps later.
As he shoved the sweater toward her he was aware that he might be tending to just a little harshly. He thought this until she spoke again. ‘Tell me who you are?’ A smirk curled the edge of his lips as eyes scanned over her small frame and the determination set on her features. ‘Look miss, I don’t have time for introductions. Plus I don’t think you want to know me.’ Removing the shades that hid his eyes he allowed green gaze to scan over her. ‘All you need to know is I am a secret agent…that’s /all/ you need to know.’ Laughter threatened to escape his mouth as he saw the wheels in her mind turning and the gaping mouth as if she had never been spoken to like that in her entire life.
Pointing the gun to her chest once again it nudged it against her. ‘Lets get moving now, time is not…’ Suddenly was interrupted by the small woman. ‘How do you know who I am…for all you know I could be a prostitute.’ This truly made him laugh before her grabbed her wrist and pushed her up against a wall, lips resting over the pulse point in her neck and a cruel smile on his features as he heard her breath catch. ‘If that is so…then this must seem familiar.’ He heard her gulp and chuckled, pulling her from the wall and placing her in front of the gun. ‘Don’t try and fool me miss…your name is Rae Corvus, you are wanted on charges of murder, I believe they call you ‘little cobra’ and you are an assassin.’
Eyes widened as he spoke. It was hard enough being shoved against a wall but for him to know who she truly is was frightening. Teeth worried her lower lip as eyes fell to the gun; he was not kidding. She did not think it could be worse until a hand dug into his pocket and produce the picture that was slightly worn around the edges from his study of it. A gasp escaped her lips as she snatched the photo from his hand and looked at it carefully, gawking. ‘How the hell did you get this?’
Cool and calm one moment and a total wreck the next. Jake couldn’t help his cruel chuckle as she began to pace in front of him, despite the gun following her every move. ‘Women..’ He rolled his eyes and rested a hand on her shoulder. ‘Friends, rats, good photographers…? Many ways we could have gotten this and honestly that is not what I am concerned about. My concern is to get you behind bars; now come on…’
The woman yanked from his arm and he let a loud growl escape his lips and he grabbed her once more. ‘Now stop being so…you. Just come with me.’ The slight resistance she was planning on putting up was quickly forgotten about as he pressed the gun to her back and shoved her forward. ‘Now move…toward the black car over there.’
Rae no longer fought, instead she submitted and walked slowly to the car. After being placed in the back of the unmarked car she gazed out the window as the agent started up the car. They drove for a bit before suddenly, out of the blue; a phone rang.
