A/N Small Chapter Hopefully the next one will be longer. I hope you enjoy reading.

*******************************************************************************************************

When young Silver awoke, he was laying on a bed. His eyes and throat were sore from his screaming and crying. He was cold and shivering. He curled up into a bad, opened his blue eyes and found himself naked. Candles lit the room, casting a dim glow over the stone walls. He felt a shift in the bed and whimpered when a hand touched his back. Silver squeezed his eyes shut and pressed his body into the bed as if it would swallow him. Soft laughter filled the room,\"Now, my child, I have barely even touched you.\" Silver\'s hands balled into the sheets, clutching them under him - needing something to hang onto. The man\'s voice was cold, his fingers like ice and Silver\'s small frame couldn\'t stop shaking. He was crying again, crying so hard it hurt.

\"Stop crying, child. Shh, it\'s ok. I only wish to hold you.\"

Silver felt himself being pulled up away from the bed. The hand that had been on his back moved it icy fingers around, underneath the crying, trembling boy. The man was holding him around the middle as his other hand came and pried the sheet from Silver\'s balled fist.

Silver wanted to scream but his throat was too raw to produce anything more than a cracked squeak. The man had him in his arms, holding him to his bare and cold chest. Strong fingers pulled Silver\'s head up, forcing him to look at the man with the brown-green freckled eyes - the man who had killed his mommy and daddy.

\"No more tears\", the man spoke softly in a voice that was almost soothing. His hand let go of Silver\'s chin, dropping his head down to lay on his chest. He reached over off the bed and using a hankerchief, whipped the tears away from Silver\'s eyes. The moment might have seemed gentle if the arm that was around Silver wasn\'t like a cold steel bar pinning him down.

\"There, isn\'t that much better?\" Silver\'s only reply was a whimper. Without the tears, Silver could see the man\'s long brown, nearly black, thick hair. \"Are you thirsty? You must be.\" Silver felt funny like his mind was telling him to run and fight but his body just didn\'t agree. He found himself nodding his head. The man\'s arm was still like a vice as he once again reached over off the bed but Silver\'s eyes couldn\'t follow. He couldn\'t look away from the man\'s face.

Silver felt himself being moved again, being propped up on the man\'s chest. That vice like arm holding him easily in place. The man was pressing a glass to Silver\'s small mouth. \"Open, child.\" He spoke with a soft command. Silver\'s lips parted and the man tilted the glass. Something hot and thick passed his lips. It tasted bad, like... Silver didn\'t know what. He choked and tried to spit it back out but the man kept tilting the glass up, pouring more of the hot liquid into his mouth. \"Swallow.\" Tears, once again, formed in Silver\'s eyes. He didn\'t want to swallow it but he felt himself doing it anyway. Taking in some of the hot, thick drink. The glass moved again and the man smiled. \"That\'s a good pet.\" His tone was soothing again. \"Pity you made such a mess.\" The man pulled him back down, laying Silver on his chest and ran his chilled fingers through Silver\'s hair.

\"This is your new home, child. I am Matais, your master, and you will address me as such. Now say, \'yes, master\'.\"

Silver replied in a whimper. The fingers in his hair stopped stroking and grasped the thin strains of hair, pulling Silver\'s head back hard, forcing him to look into the eyes of his new master. \"Say it, child.\" Tears were rolling down Silver\'s cheeks, pain flaired from Matais\' grip. He opened his mouth and in a scared, wobbly voice spoke, \"Yes, master.\" Matais\' hand let go of Silver\'s hair and went back to stroking it, \"Good boy, child. Good boy. Rest pet, sleep.\"

Silver felt his eyelids get heavy and sleep flooded over him once more. His young mind knew it was wrong. He just woke up, he shouldn\'t be sleeping again but his body didn\'t agree. Matais still held him, stroking his blond hair. Faintly, just before sleep took him over, Silver thought he heard humming. It reminded him of his father. Made him feel light and peaceful like maybe everything was just a really bad dream and when he awoke, his mommy and daddy would be okay again and he really be asleep laying against his father\'s chest. He nuzzled against the man holding him, his body still shivering. Matais smiled, flashing a fang in the candle-lit room as he took in the small features of his new toy.
