Brenna returned to the buffet for dinner that night with her book. Part of her silently wondered if the cute man from breakfast would be there. She was a little disappointed when she didn’t see him. She sat at the same table she had at breakfast and continued reading her book.

“I should’ve gotten his name.” She kept thinking to herself as she read her book. Then she kept reminding herself she wasn’t there to fall in lust with the first cute guy she saw. She was there to recover from the last few months at work.

Tall, tanned and handsome surprised her again. “Mind if I sit here?”

“Oh God!” She nearly jumped out of her seat. “Do you make it a habit to surprise people twice in one day?” She teased.

“Only beautiful redheads.” He flashed a sexy, flirtatious smile at her. He had to remind himself to keep his cool or he wouldn’t have a chance with her.

Seeing him still standing there with that smile on his face made her want to get to know him. “Please join me,” she indicated the empty seat across from her.

“If we’re going to make a habit of sharing a table we should at least know each other’s names.” He flashed that smile again and Brenna couldn’t help but enjoy it.

“Brenna.” She offered her hand.

“Logan. Nice to meet you Brenna.” He took her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. She blushed slightly. “Nice to see women still blush in this day and age.”

Of course that only served to make Brenna blush further. “I’m afraid to admit I do it all the time. Curse of being a redhead.”

Logan stared at Brenna for a moment trying to figure out if she realized who he was yet. The blushing caught him off guard. “I think it’s refreshing.”

Logan and Brenna made small talk over dinner getting to know each other. They shared many of the same interests in movies and music. They also found they shared a lot of the same values.

Logan was still confused that she didn’t recognize him even after she mentioned liking Phantom. He just mentioned liking them as well. If she didn’t realize he was the guitar player, Logan Anders, he wasn’t going to spoil it. It had been a long time since he met a woman who liked him for him. He had been lucky that no one at the resort recognized him yet either. The fact that the band was supposed to be recording an album helped.

“Would you like desert?” Logan flashed that smile again.

“That chocolate cake looked awfully good. If there’s any left.” Brenna was finding herself very attracted to Logan after getting to know him a little bit.

“One slice of chocolate cake coming up.” Logan slipped from the table. He returned with two slices of chocolate cake and a waiter following him with two glass of champagne.

“Thank you.” She smiled as he gave her a slice of cake and the waiter placed one of the glasses in front of her.

Logan raised his glass. “To chocolate and champagne. The perfect way to end a night.”

Brenna clinked her glass with Logan’s and sipped. “Mmm…This is really good champagne. You must know something about wine.”

“I know a little. Mostly about good champagne.” Logan hoped he wouldn’t have to explain his knowledge of champagne came from being a rock star.

Brenna and Logan enjoyed their cake and champagne. When they were both done eating Brenna excused herself back to her room.

“It’s been a wonderful evening. Thank you for the company and the champagne. It was a great touch with the cake. I hope I’ll see you around.” Brenna didn’t want a one-night stand with this man. She wasn’t sure she wanted to fall in love either.

Logan was caught a little off guard. He thought the night had gone well. “Um, sure. Perhaps we’ll see each other again.”

“Good night.” Brenna didn’t wait for his good night. She simply left.

Once in the safety of her cabin she was upset with herself. She was supposed to be recovering from harassment not meeting and lusting after the sexist man in the resort. And God was he sexy. Those shorts and that tank top certainly showed off his well-toned body. And that smile. That flirtatious smile only made him more attractive.

She was looking in the mirror getting ready for bed. “You can’t fall in love on vacation. It’ll never last.” She threw her hands up and went to bed.
