Late Night Snack
Gull got out of his hammock and headed for the galley. He did not care that it was closed for the night. His hunger would keep him awake unless he ate something.
He was about to open the door to the galley when he heard voices inside. Gull wondered who else would be up for a late night snack. He pressed his ear close against the door.
That\'s Captain Hawk\'s voice, thought Gull.
Gull felt a little guilty eavesdropping, but he could not bring himself to move from that spot where he could hear the conversation that was taking place inside the galley.
\"Better?\" asked Captain Hawk.
\"Oh, yes, thank you.\"
That\'s Martin\'s voice, thought Gull.
\"I can\'t think of a more pleasureable way to work up an appetite, my dear fellow,\" said the captain. \"More bread?\"
\"No, thank you. I\'m satisfied.\"
\"As am I,\" said the captain. \"Very satisfied.\"
Gull cringed at those words. There was no mistaking the double entendre in Hawk\'s voice. Images of that Martin fellow satisfying his captain invaded Gull\'s thoughts. He tried unsuccessfully to block those images from his mind.
Suddenly the door was flung open and Gull fell forward and landed on the deck.
\"Ah-ha!\" said Captain Hawk. \"I knew I heard someone. Gull, what is the meaning of this?\"
\"Captain, I was too hungry to sleep. I just needed a bite.\" Gull got up and gave Martin a cold look. Martin was wearing one of the captain\'s robes.
\"You know that the galley is closed this time of night,\" said Captain Hawk in a stern voice.
Gull\'s stomach growled.
\"Didn\'t you eat your dinner?\"
\"No, Captain. I wasn\'t hungry then.\"
Martin handed a slice of bread to Gull who eagerly took it and wolfed it down.
\"You\'ll need more than that, Gull,\" said Martin as he began filling a plate with some leftover cold chicken. \"Here. Sit down. Chew it slowly or you might choke. You\'ll find the food will taste better when it\'s not eaten in a hurry.\"
\"I don\'t need you telling me how to eat!\" said Gull as he glared at Martin.
\"What the blazes is wrong with you, Gull?\" Captain Hawk asked.
\"Nothing, Captain,\" said Gull. He sat down and ate the cold chicken meat.
Martin watched Gull and studied his face.
\"Captain, may I have a word with you in private?\" asked Martin.
Hawk nodded. He and Martin left the galley and closed the door behind them. Gull continued eating the chicken. His stomach was beginning to feel better.
A few minutes later the door opened. Captain Hawk entered the galley and placed his hand on Gull\'s shoulder.
\"Good. You\'ve finished eating. Come to bed with me now.\"
Gull stared at his captain.
\"Is that an order, sir?\"
\"I could make it an order. But no, Gull. It\'s an invitation.\"
Gull smiled and got up to accompany Captain Hawk. Martin was nowhere in sight.
All is right with the world now, thought Gull.
They reached the door to Hawk\'s quarters. The captain opened the door and walked in. Gull followed and then stopped in his tracks when he saw Martin waiting for them in the captain\'s bed.
Gull looked at his captain. Was Hawk not going to tell Martin to leave?
Captain Hawk smiled and removed his robe. He was buff and had a powerful physique.
Gull watched his captain climb into bed with Martin still there.
\"Come, come, Gull. Get undressed. It\'s already late. We need our rest.\"
Gull reluctantly obeyed his captain. A moment later all three men were in bed together. The captain was in the middle with Gull on his left and Martin on his right.
