Sir Keeting

Coran paced the length of his bed chambers. He brought a hand up to delicately sooth his throbbing cheek.

He had been completely flabberghasted when she had struck him. Then shock turned in to white hot rage and he bounded after her. He had found her running to the main gates of the castle. Angry, he had grabbed her, shook her, bruised her.

He felt lower than dirt thinking back on it. The way he had gripped her arms. He didn\'t even let go when she cried out, said he was hurting her. She kneed him in the groin and as she fled the castle, Coran saw bruises were already forming on her arms.

He had been such a fool. Never had he hurt a woman. Never. It went against all of his moral beliefs. Women were smaller, more vonerable. It wasn\'t right.

The way she looked at him in the Throne Room, he had never seen any expression like it. He had never thought it possible to feel so completely betrayed, but she had.

As he thought of her walking alone in unknown lands, a large pit of guilt formed in him. She could be anywhere, exposed to any danger.

\"Come back, Arielle.\" he quietly prayed. \"You don\'t know what kind of places you\'ve wandered into.\"

Arielle looked briefly at the watch on her wrist. She had been walking for two hours straight. There seemed to be no end to the forest.

She hated the Fey. Now she was in their domain, completely unprotected and oblivious to what they could do to her.

Every little noise made her stop, whip around to check her surroundings. She\'d be lying if she said she wasn\'t afraid. Her mind wandered back to the Goblins Coran had described earlier. They used to sacrifice humans. Perfect. She was human, lost in a Faerie forest... would they sacrifice her?!

For a moment she let herself wonder if Coran had sent men to look for her, but quickly dismissed it. I attacked him twice. If anyone is looking for me, it\'s so they can throw me in a dungeon. And that\'s not going to happen.

Arielle wanted nothing more than to curl up in a ball and go to sleep. Even if she was exhasted, she denied her body the simple pleasure of resting. It would make her more vonurable than she already was.

However, after another hour went by, she was positive that her body could withstand in no longer. With a heavy heart, she layed down on the mossy ground beside a large willow tree and went to sleep.

As the first rays of dawn shone through Coran\'s window, five of his soldiers reported back.

\"Did you find any traces of her?\" he asked hopefully.

The leading soldier shook his head. \"No, sir. We searched the entire kingdom, but found no evidence that the girl had gone through. We think...\" the soldier paused for a moment. \"We think she went in to the Forbidden Forest, my lord.\"

Coran sighed. \"I figured as much. It would be the most appealing place to take refuge.\" his voice was distressed. \"Send a large group of troops in to the forest. Be sure they do not get seperated.\"

He ignored the scowl on the soldier\'s face and said, \"Bring the girl back to the castle, and don\'t in any way harm her.\"

Arielle woke when she heard a twig snap. She sat up, fighting the ever-consuming grogginess. She looked around with her eyes blurred from sleep. She rubbed them fiercely in a vain attempt to rid them of the fuzziness.

When another twig snapped she felt her heart skip a beat. Something was out there! Twig after twig snapped, leaves rustled, and the sound of heavy boots hitting the ground filled her ears.

She brought her knees to her chest protectively. Her eyes fluttered closed and she waited for the worst. Several uneventful minutes went by. When she opened her eyes enough to peek out, she saw a figure standing before her and she screamed.
