Storyline Overview
Twenty-five years ago, a daughter was born to the Supreme royal family of Galbadria, a dimension similar to Earth in geography and climate, and the one where all of the planet’s governing is done. That daughter, Ocealian Skye, as prophesized by the Book of Elders, was destined to mature into the most powerful being in Galbadrian history--a deity known as the Goddess Jeraoniel--realizing the extent of her powers on the eve of her thirtieth birthday. Also prophesized in the Book of Elders, was the simultaneous fall of the "Barrier regime," an empire lead by Empress Edarra, a sorceress who had controlled Galbadria’s Dark Barrier with her Black Magic for centuries, and whom was intent on extending her reach beyond the Barrier’s borders.
Threatened by the absolute power that the gifted princess would wield once she gained hegemony, Edarra gathered an army of soldiers devoted to preventing the child’s ascension. By forginsworsword from the fires of Morla’s hellish volcano, the Saurnion Pit, this army-collectively known as the Army of Nesgaroth-created the one thing in existence that had the ability to kill the future divinity before she rose to power: the Sword of D’monstré.
Upon learning of Edarra’s plan, Ocealian’s grandfather, the Faery King known as Nil-Galith Cadyn, insisted that his infant granddaughter be removed from the royal palace and taken to the secret island of Hynéa, where she would be concealed from harm and raised in safety by a kingdom of Sea Faeries until she had come of age. Understanding that his contrivance was the only way to assure that their new daughter grew unharmed, the Supreme King and Queen went along with Nil-Galith’s plan, allowing their baby to be whisked from the kingdom only hours after her birth. She was brought to Hynéa Isle, where a community of Sea Faeries awaited.
Nil-Galith then formed the Fellowship of Algaron, a group of high-level Galbadrian wizards and soldiers whose mission it was to covertly protect his granddaughter until her thirtieth birthday. On a mission shortly thereafter, a faction of Algaron soldiers managed to steal the Sword of D’monstré from Edarra’s palace, and it subsequently remained in the guarded custody of the Faery King and the Royal Order of the Wizened Fae. During that same battle, Edarra was captured and imprisoned in Sarabina, a distant and desolate island used to house the most dangerous of Galbadrian enemies. The Army of Nesgaroth was believed to have disbanded after its leader’s downfall, but the Fellowship of Algaron remained active, stealthily protecting Ocealian with the help of Special Tactics Unit: Defense (STUD)--a government-sanctioned group of elite mercenaries who have helped maintain order in Galbadria for centuries.
But now, after two-and-a-half decades, Edarra has escaped from Sarabina and is making her way back to Morla and Galbadria. The Army of Nesgaroth has reformed in anticipation of the Empress’ return, and the Fellowship of Algaron is on guard, not knowing where Edarra will settle or when she will strike first. STUD soldiers have been dispatched on a seek and destroy mission, while other military companies have been stationed throughout Galbadria’s towns and cities to maintain peace and protect civilians.
In the midst of this war exists a group of young people, upon whose shoulders, the entire fate of the world resides.
