Ashe Inperiaru - Part 4

Chapter 29 – Ashe Inperiaru – Part 4

Rhapsody pushed away from her brother as he tried to pull her closer in. He watched her back away slowly, her fingers running over the door of the hotel room as she looked to escape longingly. She had never wanted it to come to this, but she was unable to break herself away from him the way she wanted to. Every time she told herself to scream, to fight, she was unable, her limbs limp as he ran his hands and lips over her. She shook with anger and fear and hated herself for allowing him to take her here, away from her loved ones and friends.

“Don’t leave me,” Ashe whispered to her, cornering her between his body and the door. “I didn’t bring you here just to objectify your body, though I hope I won’t have to take advantage of you after this. I wanted you to hear me tell you something. There is something I want you to know.”

“Ashe…”

“Don’t, not yet,” he whispered, leaning in and taking her ears into his lips, kissing it softly, but not sensually, almost like he was just trying to find a way to keep her in place. “This is my last chance to tell you this.”

“What?” Rhapsody asked, taking note to the alarm in his voice. “Why?”

“Because I’m going to die tomorrow.”

Ashe moved over her, curling her under him, taking her lips between his. Rhapsody moved with him, but not sure if it was more out of pity or love. She loved Ashe, like a brother, she always had, but when he had told her his story she no longer knew what to think. She had been taught so long that one thing was right and good and how life was that she was finding it hard to see beyond that veil, though it was diaphanous and she should know better. Rhapsody felt Ashe pushing inside of her, sliding in her and thrusting gently, making love to her instead of raping her, treasuring each moment instead of hurrying his movements before a parent came home, or one of the sporadic maids came to check on them. This was what a real couple would be like if… they were a real couple. But Ashe and Rhapsody were not, and from what she understood this would be the last time the two of them would be together.

Ashe kissed her deeply, his tongue playing with the tip of hers and Rhapsody responded the only way she knew how, his way. He moved in her, changing her position, filling her with himself, until she was exhausted, and though he could have gone on longer she could not. He let it be, letting her sleep, curling her into his arms and holding her close before she disappeared from his life, and he from hers. He did not know every moment she was planning to call her mother and father and beg them to come rushing to the rescue before he died.

As she slept the only thing on her mind was his words about his true being, or what he knew of it. “I’m not Mom and Dad’s real son,” he had blatantly said when they had sat down on the bed. “It’s a simple story, really. Well, not really, because it shows you how evil Mom and Dad truly are. The real Ashe died at birth. Some complications that I was never explained. Well, another woman had had a son an hour earlier, so, being as rich as they are, they paid the doctors off to switch him and us, so that their son died at birth, and I would be raised by the Inperiaru’s as Ashe instead.”

Rhapsody felt her voice shake as the only thought that came to mind blurted out of her mouth, “That’s preposterous.” Rhapsody stood too quickly from the bed and tripped over the hem of the Hilton bed covers, nearly falling flat on her face in her attempt to run away. Ashe’s hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her back to him. He looked sad as he watched her try to compose herself, but instead she could not gain control. It took her several minutes just to stop shaking, but when she did, when she calmed, was when Ashe realized is when she let the belief of her parents take hold.

“I’m sorry,” Ashe told her honestly. “I don’t want to hurt you, but I want you to know the truth. That is who our parents really are. So I’m leaving this entire mess behind. Tonight I want to be with you, only you, and want to think of nothing but being with you.”

Rhapsody woke up in the morning too late. Ashe had already left, leaving nothing but a red rose in his place.
