A/N: Okay, so it might be a little bleh here and there. It’s also a little longer than the other chapters. So… um… Enjoy!

His finger tapped against the table. ‘Damn brat.’ Magar muttered under his breath and he glanced at the people lined against the wall. The three new people were sitting next to each other with enough space between them and Nina.

Nina was humming softly to Liv who was quiet through the whole thing. Keir was hunched over and Zach was banging his head against the wall. Caden was still out cold and will be for another two hours with the tranquilizer in him.

The new woman had dark brown almost black hair. It was long and hung around her face, purple eyes kept glancing at Zach. She looked to be in her late forties and you could see it, but she still retained some of her younger looks. The man next to her looked like an older version of Zach only he had green eyes. When looking at him he had to be in his early fifties.

Sitting next to the man was a male in his teens. He had green eyes and dark orange hair with black streaked through it. His green eyes were fixed on Magar. The cloths he wore were different form the ones his parents wore, which were the work cloths they always wore. They consisted of dark colors and was form fitting. The shirt was sleeveless and the pants fit his slim body. Both ears had small hoops.

Magar glanced at him and he saw the glare. “Watch yourself kid!”

He stuck his tongue out and you could see a tongue ring. Turning his head, he caught the look on his father’s face and grinned. “What?”

The man turned his head and the boy sighed. He was going to get an ear full when they got home… if they got home.

Zach started to shift around and he bumped into Keir. Turning he looked at Zach and watched as the male finally pulled the gag down. “What the hell are they doing here and why the hell are you going after us?”

He met Magar’s gaze head on. “Us?”

‘Shit…’

Keir sighed and shook his head.

“Are you telling me we caught a Missing without knowing it?” There was a smirk on his face.

“You already know…”

“What you thought I didn’t know?”

Zack was on his feet and he growled out, “Then, why the fuck do you have our family?”

“Easy, if it gets him out here in the open then I don’t have to work as hard.”

“So we’re just the bait!?”

Magar laughed, “Well you’re not.” He nodded to the small family. “They are.”

“Bastard…”

“Sit down.”

Zach’s foot went forward and a gun went off. The woman screamed, Liv started crying, and the teen shouted. His body hit the ground and he bit lip to keep from screaming out but he let out a pain filled growl. Blood seeped out of the wound and down his leg. “Fuck…”

“He said to sit down.” A person stood with a gun pointed at him. “Get up again and the next is in your head.” They were in a navy blue button up shirt and black pants. Behind thin wired glasses were lifeless brown eyes, they had blonde hair to their waist that was pulled back and bangs that hung in their face. They were five foot nine and had slightly pale skin.

“Aaron, I paid you to help me not kill him.”

“If you die I can’t get paid.”

Both Nina and Keir looked at each other. What the hell is going to happen now?

Looking up as a gun sounded he sighed. He was sitting in the room with Dawn. “Hmmm, Ray has changed.” He was looking back at a little screen in his hand. “Momma Dawn what’s with the cam in your room?”

“I put it in.”

“Why?”

“Nuri had a bad habit of trying to snoop through our closet.”

Rune sat up and he tapped the screen. “Time for a little talk.” He tossed it to her and took off into the closet just as the door opened and another person walked in.

“What happened in here?” There was a dull thud and he turned around just in time to see two red eyes.

His body tipped back and he fell to the ground. Lowering his hand, he stood over the shaking man. Looking through the man’s jacket and shirt he found the mic. Dragging the man over to the corner he tied him up and then turned on the mic. “Let’s get this game started.”

He waved to Dawn and ran back into the closet. As he slid down under the door he quickly spoke, “I wonder what you fear the most?”

“There is nothing that I fear.”

“Really? Even fear has a fear. So you have to have a fear… I just wonder what it is. By the way I saw what happened, of course Zach can take it but if he dies. I might have to break my promise and I really don’t want to do that.” He dropped the mic and crushed it.

“Now to get into that room.”

He climbed up into the crawl space and made his way over to the other side. Pushing open a door he dropped down. Something grabbed his arm and he whipped around his body froze when he saw Kaya. “What are you doing out here?”

“Nuri, she left when the gun went off.”

“Where…?” The ear piece made a crackling sound.

“Boss I found a child…”

“Let me go you bastard!”

“She was sneaking around down stairs.”

“Bring her here.”

“Yes sir.”

He turned to Kaya, “Stay close, when I say hide…”

“I hide.”

“Run?”

“I will run as fast as I can.”

“Smart. Let’s go.” They quickly moved along dropping down to the first floor, he opened the door and looked out. Two people were standing guard. Easing the door open he slipped out and closed it. He was standing behind them he whistled and they turned. Looking at him then each other then back at him. He quickly pulled the glasses down their eyes met his and he raised his hands. “Sleep.”

They dropped to the ground and he opened the door. “Come on.”

Kaya came out and he grabbed her hand. They slipped into the first room and they slid to a stop. Nuri was pinned on the floor and the man was holding her down. Rune ran up and delivered a sharp kick to his head. The man fell over and Nuri quickly rolled away. As she stood he grabbed the back off her shirt and waved Kaya over.

The three of them crawled back into the passage just as the room door opened. “Get back to where you were at now!”

“What happened?”

“Zach was shot, he’s okay. I’m trying to make my way there.”

“Why are you wearing those glasses?”

“They have night vision, now go!”

“Fine.” Nuri grabbed Kaya’s hand and they left. As soon as the room was cleared he slipped out, he could hear the commotion on the ear piece. They couldn’t find him and it was pissing Magar off. Slipping back into the room under the stairs he pulled himself up into the passage. Then he ran towards the room. He was going to end it now.

Magar growled at the speaker, “Where is that bastard with the child?”

Zach laid there, his vision going blurry for a second. He was getting light headed and little black dots were flickering in his field of vision. ‘Shit…’ He had lost a lot of blood.

There was movement and the teen slowly crawled over to Zach. He was watching the guy with the gun as he crawled over. Once he got to Zach he pulled the gag from around his neck. There was a click and something pushed against the back of his head. “If you can’t tell he’s going to bleed to death and if that happens you’ll never get your money.”

“Aaron let him help; we need that one alive anyways.”

“You make it sound like I’m just a thing.” He winced when the teen started to wrap the gag around his leg. “Ray careful the bullet.”

“Sorry.”

“In my boss’s eyes you’re not even a person anymore.”

They all froze when they heard him, “You make that sound like a bad thing.” Magar spun around and Rune was standing not even a foot away. “Hello.”

The gun went off and Rune was gone. He stood up and brushed himself off then he looked at Aaron. “Let’s see if you can dodge the next one.”

“What is with people and revenge?” The blonde stiffened and there was a smirk on Rune’s face. “Sometimes revenge can end horribly.” He reached up and pulled the glasses off. Green met red and Aaron found his body walking back. “Maybe you should leave before you kill an innocent.”

Finally reacting Magar quickly grabbed his gun, only it was smacked out of his hands. The man behind the computer watched as the small male raised his hand and once Aaron was outside, the door closing behind him, he turned. They looked at each other and Rune frowned, his eyes glanced over to the now unconscious Zach.

‘I can’t see it.’

Magar smirked and then he brought the back of his fist across Rune’s face. His head snapped to the side and he stared at the window. A grin slowly spread across his face. “Ow… that hurt…” Tipping his head he sighed, “I guess I’ll have to do this the other way.” The small male’s hand shot out and he ripped the glasses off his face. The man found himself in the dark. “You can’t see in the dark, but I can.”

He felt a rush of air and he tried to move as Rune landed a kick into his side. His body slammed into the speaker and table. Everything fell to the floor, breaking. Those who could see watched as Rune covered Magar’s face. The man’s face became blank and a smirk appeared on his face, “Found it.”Something hard slammed into his head. His body fell to the ground and then he found himself being lifted up. Looking over his shoulder he found Aaron. “I thought I told you to go outside.”

“It doesn’t work on me.”

Keir’s eyes widened when he watched Rune’s body fly and crashed through the window. ‘No!’ His ropes loosened and he didn’t even think about it just ran for the window. Snow and wind rushed in and the room became extremely cold quick.

He was hanging there and he felt a hand grab his arm. Looking up he saw Keir and then looked down it was a good drop. The snow would soften his landing but he would still mess something up. Looking back up he saw it, his hand shot out and shoved Keir away just as a gun went off, a searing pain shot through his arm. He fell, his body disappearing in the snow.

The sound of a gun quickly being reloaded could be heard. He gripped the windowsill and gave a low growl. His hands dropped to his side and he turned around. Black bangs covered his eyes.

Aaron was backing up as he loaded the gun. “Stupid boy.” Magar was standing up now have being in a daze. “We need him alive.”

“It hit his arm.” He closed the barrel on the gun and twisted it. “He should be alright, his healing rate is better than all of the Missing.”

“You read that file.”

“All of them.” Then the gun was pointed at Keir.

“You weren’t supposed to look at them.” He started to pull the trigger when something flew and embedded itself into his hand. Nina stood up Liv was tucked in her arm.

“I thought so.”

He pulled the pocket knife out of his hand. “Do you know how much it costs to fix this?” The gun fell to the ground and his hand had a hole in it. You could see the metal and some wires.

“Hmmm… not really.”

A fist collided with Aaron’s face and he fell to the ground.

Magar went to grab his weapon when something slammed into his head. He dropped to the ground and Ray stood there holding a bat. Grinning he looked at Nina, “Like that?”

“Yeah, you got a good swing.”

Keir knelt down and grabbed him by the front of his shirt. He picked him up and walked over to the window. Aaron struggled as Keir held him outside. His eyes looked down and he grabbed onto his hand. “Wait! Don’t let go!” The blonde tried to get his feet on the ledge. “Please don’t let go!” those fingers uncurled and he felt himself fall.

Water splashed on his face and he jerked up. Rune was looking down at him, “Hello.” He looked over and saw Magar on the ground twitching and Rune smirked. “Looks like you won’t get your money.” Lifting his hand up, he looked at it. There was nothing wrong with it.

“What…?”

“Your fear… is heights.” He knelt down and patted him on the cheek. “You were only in a trance.” He walked over to Keir and tipped his head back. “Hey wake up! Rune is getting worried.” He muttered under his breath and then smacked him.

The black haired male jerked awake. “Ow! What the hell.”

“Hey it works!”

Keir grabbed his nose and the small male yelped. “Something tells me that you caused that dream.”

“Ow… not dream… trance… ow… let go!”

“Trance?”

“You’re awake just seeing things! Now let go of my nose!”

Their eyes met and Keir let go, “Where’s Rune?”

“He’s watching.” The small male rubbed his nose. “That fucking hurt.”

“Watching?”

“We share the same mind but diff persons.” Keir looked at him and he sighed. “He remembers everything that happens when I’m here and I remember everything with him here. I can see what happens and he can see what happens.” He looked over at Zack and his wrapped leg. “Got it?”

He saw Keir nod his head. “When’s Rune coming back out?”

“When I’m finished here.” Walking over to Zack he pushed his head to the side with his bare foot. “Hmmm…” Then he knelt down. “Wake the fuck up or I’ll toss you out the window.”

“You do that and I’ll strangle you.”

“And kill your little brother?”

Zack’s hand shot out and grabbed his shirt, “Fix it or I’ll knock you out.”

The two stared at each other, “Done.” He slipped the glasses back on and walked over to an oil lamp. After lighting it he took the glasses off and smirked, “Time to round them up.”

Keir pulled the rope tight on the last person. Walking over to them Rune held up two files and shook them, “Everything about us is in here, Zack.” He looked at the people. “Their fake sweepers, someone else is working here.”

Zack looked at him, “Fake?”

“Yeah.”

“Who do you think it is?”

“I don’t know… something isn’t right.” Rune stood there thinking. “Why would they want us back?”

He limped over to Rune, “There are some rumors floating around the underground.”

“Like?” He handed the files over to Zack.

“That Abner had to answer to someone else.”

“It’s just a rumor.”

“What if this bigger guy is planning something?”

“A rumor is a rumor.” The small male turned and looked at Keir. The black haired male had walked over to Dawn when she ran into the room and up to Nina. She was hugging Liv close to her and then she hugged both Nina and Keir.

“My little babies are okay.” Dawn walked over to Rune and she looked at him. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” She pulled him into a hug and he stiffened.

Pulling away she ruffled his hair. “Why do you stiffen, it’s just a hug.”

“Sorry.”

“From now on you’re going to have to give me hug.”

“Huh?”

Zack snickered and she smiled, “one hug a day got it?”

He sighed, “Sure, he’ll like it.”

“What about you?”

The small male looked at Zack and then he lowered his head as he scratched the side of his face. “I don’t hate it, I guess I can get used to it.” Dawn smiled and patted his head.

“You’re so cute.”

He made a sound, folded his arms and got an angry pout like look on his face. “Whatever.”

“Okay Akira, quit being defensive.” Rune gave Zack a dark look and Zack just grinned.

“Quit being an ass, Zack.” Zack wrapped his arm around his shoulders and ruffled his hair. “Damn it, Zack let go!”

She smiled and quickly left out of the room, she wanted to get Liv to eat some food. Nina followed after to go check on Nuri and Kaya. Keir stood up and quickly counted the people there. “I got twenty all together.”

“Heh, what a lame ass.”

“God you’re an asshole.” The small male glanced at Zack.

A grin appeared on his face as he walked out, “I do as I please.” He didn’t even make it out of the room when a hand connected with his face. Zack and Keir turned to see Rune’s mother, her hand was clenched at her side and another was raised. He reached up and rubbed his face.

“What the hell is wrong with you!? We were held hostage because of your ungrateful ass. I thought I finally got rid of you when we left you and your brother behind. Looks like I’ll have to be stuck here with you. You’re nothing but a mistake!”

“And you’re a bitch.” He hissed out. “I’m here because of you. You’re the ungrateful bitch who had to go and have a fucking affair!”

“You little…” The hand was stopped; she looked over to see Dawn.

“If you want to blame him then leave. This is my house and I will not allow this kind of shit to happen under my roof.”

When she looked back over Keir and Zack stood in front of Rune. She yanked her arm away, “Don’t come near me.” Then the woman walked off.

“Bitch…”

Zack sighed and shook his head. “Why couldn’t she sit in her room and stay away?”

He turned around and found Rune gone. “Ah, hey where did he go?”

Dawn pointed back into the room. But when they looked in he wasn’t in there.

Keir turned to Zach, “Where would he go?”

“Hmmm… let me go check down stairs you check your room.”

“Okay.”

Zack walked into the kitchen and sighed, “Where the hell did you go?” He glanced at the basement door and gave a soft smile. “Should have known.”

He opened the door and walked down the stairs. As his bare feet touch cold floor he looked around. His eyes finally adjusted to the darkness and he saw someone in the corner. “Of course you come to look.”

“You okay?”

The small male held his hand out. “On the way here I started coughing.”

“And?” His brother looked at his hand and he sighed. “How many times did you use it?”

“Forgot to count.” That’s when he could hear the ragged breathing from the small male. “I started to taste blood and I left.”

“How’s your face?”

“Stings.”

“Rune?”

“The same as always hoping for a damn reaction he’ll never get. He’s better off here.”

“I know.”

Zack looked at him, “When I’m gone everything is going to go to hell.” He started chuckling, “You want to know what’s funny?”

“What?”

“Born from fear, lives of fear, and sees fear. You think I won’t fear anything.” Then his fingers curled around Zack’s hand. “Even fear has a fear. Do you know what it is?” His body leaned over as he started coughing violently. Pulling his hands away he found them shaking.

“What is it?”

He smirked and his mouth moved. The older male smiled and he patted his shoulder.

“I see. You should give Rune back his body.”

“I can’t, not yet…”

“Why?” A light shined into the basement and they looked over. “Hello?”

“Is Rune down there?”

“Yeah.” He felt a tap on his shoulder and he glanced at him. Keir had stepped off the last step when Zack stood up. “He wants to talk to you.”

He found the small male sitting up curled in the corner. His arms were wrapped around his legs. Walking over he sat down on the mattress and placed the glass candle on the floor.

“What is it?”

“Something happened, when we were taken.”

“Like what?”

“They did something to our arm. It was a small pinch to me but they had jabbed him.”

“There was a bruise, but he said he knocked it against something.”

“It felt like that to him but it was something else.”

Zack was now sitting on the edge of the pool table. “What was it?”

“I don’t know, but something is happening. I was looking through the files. Our genetic makeup is almost the same as Zack’s.”

“How?” They both had asked at once and the small male laughed.

“We both carry the same animal genes yet we can’t do the same thing. Why is that?”

“What are you getting at?” He could see the confused look on Zack’s face.

“It gets you thinking doesn’t it?” Shifting his legs he leaned forward and said, “It’s dormant and whatever jabbed our arm is slowly waking it up.”

“How?”

He waved his hand. “If I knew that I’d tell you.” Looking at Keir he smirked and shook his head. “I don’t know what will happen. Once it’s awake I won’t be able to come out anymore.” Sighing he smiled and looked away. “Rune will have to learn how to defend himself.”

“I can show him how to fight.” Zack had stood up and punched the air a couple of times.

“You couldn’t fight your way out of a bag.”

His older brother glared at the small male. Both Keir and Zach moved forward when his body was racked with coughing once again. “Hey you okay?”

The smell of blood whiffed past Keir’s nose and he grabbed his hand. “What’s going on?”

“I over did it. Don’t worries Rune is fine, I’m not.” His body was growing numb. “Shit everything is going numb.” He grabbed onto Keir’s hand. “Help him get over his fear, if he doesn’t it could end badly.”

“I’ll do my best.”

The small body slumped against the wall as he smiled, “Good.” His red eyes were becoming pale. “I’m going to miss everything.” Those red eyes closed and he became still.

“He’s not breathing.”

“Hold on.” Zack knelt down and then flicked Rune on the nose. He yelped and covered his nose.

“What was that for?” Keir hugged him and he blushed. “K-keir, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

Rune watched as his brother walked up the steps and then he heard a door close. His eyes looked around and he stiffened. “Can we leave the basement?”

“You need to get over it.” His arms tightened around his body. “I want to stay like this for a little longer.”

“O-okay.” His voice went soft and he hugged Keir back. Keir had moved to where his arms were around Rune’s waist and his face was buried against his stomach. While Rune was gently running his hand through his hair, he heard him speak up, “I taste blood still.” Keir sighed and looked up at him. “What?”

“Nothing.” He smiled and buried his face against his stomach again.
