Chapter 28
“Belle, I can’t believe you would even speak with her after what she did with your boyfriend!” It was that tall bitch again, the one who had shoved a vibrator into Minako’s body when she was helpless. Minako still had not learned her name; she just knew hate and contempt when she saw it.
She had been peacefully walking down the hallway next to Belle, who was not looking her in the eye, when the woman had accosted them, standing before them like a raging goddess, though she was nowhere near as lovely. Her hair was cut too short, her body too tall and lanky, and her jaw too square. She looked like she wanted to throttle little Minako and sadly she was not the first person in twenty-four hours to have that look in their eyes, nor was she even the second. Minako was starting to grow weary of the constant barrage of hatred she had seemed to have fallen under.
“You would think I should be mad at her,” Belle agreed. Minako shot her a look that said she was afraid of where she was going with this, and Belle knew it. A wicked grin passed over his lips and he fluttered his eyelashes before wrapping his arms around Minako’s body and dragging her close. “Yet, for some reason I do not blame her.” Minako was not even aware of the seconds that passed before Belle had her pressed against the wall and she was kissing her with a passion that left Minako’s toes curling.
“Wait, are you telling me you are a lesbian?” the bitchy girl asked incredulously when Belle pulled away from Minako, who stood a bit dazed to the side.
“Yes, I am,” Belle smiled triumphantly.
Minako now feared a different triumph she saw in the bitchy girl’s eyes as she turned towards Minako. Her smile left Minako shuddering when she said, “I’ll be seeing you later.”
“Oh my God, Sage and Nemesis are going to kill us,” Minako hissed, pulling Belle aside while people passed them in the halls sparing several glances in the two girls’ direction.
“Better yet, I think we just discovered something about Sarah we didn’t know before,” Belle smiled triumphantly.
Minako gazed after the butch girl that slammed into the classroom without another glance at the two lovers. “I think we knew that she was a lesbian already,” Minako snapped back. “I think you just made her hate me even more.”
“Which was a good thing, since you seem to be forgotten today,” Belle snapped. “We can’t let that happen now can we?”
“You are a vindictive bastard,” Minako said a little too loud in her terse anger.
Belle shrugged and walked towards class without a further glance Minako’s way.

“I will protect you. This has gone too far.”
“I never expected to hear you say that,” Minako smiled quietly.
“Just stay close to me until the party. After that night we will escape.”
“Why?”
“Because I love you.”
