Collar
Chapter 27
Vaan brought me back to the tunnel that Embla had made us fly down. He shut the door behind us and we were standing in complete darkness in this tiny space. I felt bad for running away from Tobias and causing trouble. And I hadn’t even gotten to talk to Darien. I could only see Vaan’s eyes shining slightly and then I felt his arms wrapping around my waist and holding me thigh. “Hold on to me.”, he said. I did what he told me to and gave him a real bear hug. Then I felt the ground disappear beneath my feet as we flew upwards.
“I’m sorry.”, I whispered.
We got up to the other door and Vaan let go of me when we had gone through it. From there he brought me further upstairs. I didn’t pay any attention to where we were going, It’s not like it mattered anyway, I had no idea of where I was in the first place. Vaan walked in front of me and I watched his back as we were walking. Sometimes when my mind drifted far enough I thought I could see just a 16 year old boy in front of me. I wondered about how old he really was. But instead I asked, “Will Tobias be in trouble because of me?” “Tobias easily get distracted, it was my own fault for trusting you to him.”, he answered still walking in front of me, “I didn’t think you would wander off on your own. And now you have pretty much destroyed your chance to meet your sister.” “No!” I got afraid again, grabbed his arm and got in front of him to face his eyes.
His face was emotionless. “No! I have to see her! Please!” “Should have thought of that earlier.” I didn’t know what to say for a moment so he started moving again. I hurried in front of him again as tears were beginning to force themselves out, “Please! I’m so sorry! I will not wander off again! I was just trying to see Darien, I hoped we could be together, I don’t wanna be alone. Is there ANYTHING I can do to make it up to you?” “You really needed to see your friend more than you need to see your sister?” A teardrop fell down my cheek. Vaan closed his eyes and continued walking. I watched him walk further away from me while I was still standing in the same spot. I closed my eyes for a second, when I opened them I saw Vaan standing some meters away, looking at me, “You coming?”
A short while later we entered a room, Vaan closed the door behind us. It was a bedroom. “Sit down.”, he said, hinting to the bed. I sat down. Vaan stood in front of me, looking down at me. He raised his hand and touched my cheek, he looked a little sad I thought. With his other hand he got something out from his pocket, a collar. The same type that was put on Darien. I looked at it confused, then he laid it around my neck. “Why?”, I whispered. “To keep you here. While I finish a business.” Suddenly he stopped his movement for a second. I felt his thumb stroking against a certain spot on my neck. “She bit you?” I nodded. He moved his hands away from my neck and attached a leash to the collar. I hadn’t noticed it before, the other end of the leash was attached to the bed. I moved my hands up to my neck and felt the collar around it. It felt awful. “Get some rest while I’m gone.” And with that he left the room.
Embla’s POV
I finally got to my room after all these interruptions. I never thought taking care of those stupid demons and that dragon would take so long. And that bitch had hit me! After all the good will I shoved her! Andreas and Lucas were bothering me with plans about heading for the party right away. “Shut up”, I yelled at them, “I’m tired already! I’m NOT going to the party right away, they can wait for me! I’m gonna take some time off and enjoy myself! IN MY ROOM!!” They shrunk a little and looked at the floor. I sighted. “Go off and leave me alone.” “But my Lady…”, Kato began. “No! I don’t want any of you three here with me, I wish to be alone and enjoy my meal. Besides, I’m expecting someone. So go!”
They left in silence, leaving me alone with the human and the demon. I narrowed my eyes while looking at the two of them. The demon stared back at me in anger. “Heh! If you bore me I might have to kill you…”, I told him. The human was no problem, he had easily fallen for my spell and believed to be in love with me. It bothered me that I couldn’t make Vaan act the same way.
My room was terrible in my eyes. My sire had obviously been found of the same dreadful gothic style as Vaan was. That’s probably where he had gotten it from. The living room was so… dark. And the bedroom the same. But it DID have one good thing: a huge bed. I smiled widely as I saw it. Room for at least 5 people in it. My demon was a bit grumpy when I dragged him with me inside, the human followed like a shadow. I tied my demon up to the bed, he was forced to get on to it, or lay half ways on it. He snarled at me. I snarled back. “Hey you!”, I said to the human, “Come here….” I crawled up on the bed and had him come closer. “Do you like me?”, I asked. “I think I love you…” I laughed a little. “Are you not scared of me?” “No. I mean I was, but I’m not any longer.” “Do you want me to unleash the spell?” He looked at me with a funny look on his face, not understanding my question. So I undid my spell on him.
He widened his eyes the very moment and tried to back away from me, falling of the bed and landed on the floor. I leaned over him, “You okay?” “GET AWAY FROM ME!!”, he screamed. I smiled flashing off my fangs. He panicked and started crawling away from me, I just watched him try to get away. When he reached the wall he supported himself and got up on his feet, looking around the room to find a way out. I laid back on the bed and enjoyed the play so far. The demon seemed a little interested in this too. “You do know that you will not get away?”, I asked the human softly. He stared back at me with fear in his eyes, the poor thing could die out of fear it seemed. Or at least faint. “What will you do to me?!”, he asked with his voice shaking. “Feed on you.”, I answered bluntly. “Oh, but don’t panic. It will not hurt.” He just stood there paralyzed with fear. A smile played along my lips. “Come.”, I told him. He didn’t move. “Please?” Slowly he got away from the wall and came closer.
