Over The Line

Chapter: Twenty-Seven: Over the Line

Three months later...

“Bottom’s up!” Dante called out to his friends who grinned holding up their shot glasses.

“Cheers.” Dayne said once he pulled his lips away from Eyvah’s neck who was comfortably settled on his lap. The group downed their vodka shots. Eyvah was the only one to grimace not being a big drinker the alcohol burned her insides. She looked down at her boyfriend when he chuckled.

“Don’t worry Ev, you’ll get used to it.” he said pulling her head down to kiss her sweetly on the lips.

She smiled into the kiss pulling back and pressing her forehead against his. “I think you’re trying to get me drunk, Mr. Callaway.” Dayne grinned roguishly.

“Not at all, I want you sober tonight, Miss Blake.” He said kissing her jaw. Eyvah sighed closing her eyes for a moment enjoying her boyfriend’s ministrations.

Jaiden rolled his eyes at his older brother and girlfriend as he downed another shot. It was sickening how ‘affectionate’ they were being in public. However his attention was pulled away when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

He looked back and his eyes locked with a pair of hazel ones. “Hi, I’ve been watching you from across the room since you first walked in.” She said and Jaiden rolled his eyes annoyed, if there was anything he hated with a passion it was pick-up lines like those.

“Well go back and keep watching.” He said dismissing her instantly and turning his attention to his friend beside him. The blonde walked off with her tail between her legs muttering profanities.

Dante gaped at Jaiden as he watched the girl walk off. “Dude, what the fuck was that?” he asked bewildered. “She was hot.”
Jaiden shrugged quickly downing another shot. “Yeah and she might have stood a chance, but she decided to open her mouth and ruin it.” He said leaning back on his seat.

Dante shook his head. “Come on man, you know Jaiden hates it when girls use pick-up lines. Especially ones as old as that.” Dayne spoke up once he was done making out with his girlfriend.

Jaiden nodded. “Damn right, you wanna hit on me, at least get with the fucking times.” He said bopping his head to the music. “Girls should know they can’t pull off pick-up lines as well as men.”

Eyvah laughed, “Oh please, men that use pick-up lines are just as pathetic.” She told the boys in which they all to made an exaggerated ‘Oohhh’

“Use the right pick-up lines on the right girl and you would be surprised how quickly you have her attention,” Jaiden informed her narrowing his piercing blue eyes while talking to her.

Eyvah found a shiver ran through her from his intense gaze. She however, snapped out of it when she heard Dante exclaim.

“Dude, it’s our tune. Come on, let’s show these fools how it’s done.” He said hopping to his feet. Jaiden sighed when Dante dragged him to his feet. Eyvah and Dayne followed happily.

Upon getting on the dance floor all three boys looked up at the D.J box and pointed. The song ‘Playground by Burhan G’ started playing all over again.

Dayne stopped Eyvah from following him. “Wait here, babe.” he said kissing her and walking off to the centre of the dance floor where Jaiden and Dante were waiting. Dayne stood slightly in front as though he was leading them.

Eyvah wasn’t surprised when the crowd the fanned out instantly giving the boys room. She had grown accustomed to the power the Callaway boys held. However, she was surprised to see they began dancing as though they were in a hip-hop music video. The chorography was amazing, they’re steps and each movement was timed perfectly with the song.

Eyvah was smiling watching Dayne but found her eyes would drift over to Jaiden too studying him carefully.

“Pretty amazing, isn’t he?” a soft voice said in her ear causing her to start. She blinked and looked to her side and found herself looking at none other than Fate Cunningham. Dayne’s Ex.

Eyvah cast a look at her boyfriend and looked back at his ex before answering. “Yeah, he is.” She agreed looking back at the boys.

“You guys are dating now, right?”

Eyvah nodded, “Yes, we are.”

“Honestly, I don’t see what he sees in you.” Fate said never taking her eyes off Dayne. “Aside from the obvious, of course.”
Eyvah frowned and looked at Fate. “I beg your pardon?”

Fate smirked. “Look I don’t mean to come off like a bitch but, come on you can’t honestly think you’re compatible with him?” she asked laughingly.

“Actually, I do.” Eyvah said narrowing her eyes at the brunette.

“You keep telling yourself that. You will never make it with him, Eyvah. You’re way too innocent and Dayne likes his girls to be challenging, girls that can keep up with his lifestyle.” She said and Eyvah arched a brow annoyed.

“You don’t even know me. What’s wrong, Fate, jealous that he’s moved on with his life?” Eyvah said tauntingly.
Fate openly laughed, “Jealous?” she smiled. “Give me a break, I don’t need to be jealous, because you won’t cut it sweetie. You may be keeping him satisfied in the bedroom for the time being, but you don’t share the passion for same things he and I do.

I’ll show you.” said and walked off towards the centre of the dance floor to join the boys.

The crowd erupted into cheers when Fate joined them stepping beside Dayne who shot her a questioning look. She easily fell into step with the boys mimicking their movements to perfection. The four of them seemed to slip into their own world while dancing. Eyvah couldn’t help but feel a tinge of jealousy the way Dayne’s eyes lit up when he was dancing with Fate by his side.

Fate was right; Eyvah was a small town girl she could never keep up with his glamorous lifestyle. But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t try. If her father taught her anything it was to never back down from a good fight.

The song came to an end and they finished the dance with the crowd cheering for them. Dayne grinned when people praised him on the moves. He felt a warm hand sneak up his back and he turned expecting Eyvah but frowned when he once again locked eyes with his ex-girlfriend.

“Hey.” she said with a smile her hazel eyes glistening. Dayne looked away breaking eye contact for a moment before looking at her again.

“Hi.” He greeted meekly.

She reached out and touched his arm gently. “How are you?” she asked and tried not to show her disappointment when Dayne pulled his arm away. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”

“I’m fine.” He said curtly.

Fate sighed dejectedly. “How long you gonna continue to punish me, D?” she asked her eyes slightly narrowed.
Dayne’s blue eyes iced over. “I’m not punishing you.”

“Yes you are,” she snapped. “Are you dating that new girl to hurt me?” she asked placing her hands at her hips.

Dayne frowned. “No, it’s got nothing to do with you. I actually really happen to like Eyvah. I have no reason left to hurt you, I don’t play games you know that better than anyone.” He said in the same manner.

Fate stepped closer to him placing her hands on his chest. “Yes, I do know, Dayne there are lot of things about you that I know better than anyone...better than her.” She said looking up at him, their eyes locking once more. “For instance I know that you still love me, just like I love you.” She said and watched as his eyes softened for a moment before they turned cold again.
“You’re wrong.” He said tersely. “I’ve moved on Fate, I suggest you do the same.” He said pulling her hands away from chest and turned to walk off. Fate caught his arm and stopped him.

“She can’t do it like me Dayne. She won’t make you smile like I do; she can’t give you enough, not like I can.” She said quietly into his ear. “Deep down, you know that.” Dayne watched her as she let go of his arm and walked off disappearing out of sight.

Dayne shook his head and walked off in the other direction to find his girlfriend, brother and best friend. He walked into their V.I.P area and frowned when he just found Dante talking with a bunch of girls.

“Dante, where are Eyvah and Jaiden?” he asked his friend.

“Eyvah wanted to use the bathroom; Jaiden took her when you disappeared. Where the hell were you?” he asked with a frown.

“Fate.” Dante’s eyes widened.

Dante made a face.“Nuff said.” Dayne nodded and dropped on the sofa with a sigh. His blue eyes were lazily scanning the club when they fell up on his ex-girlfriend dancing with some guy. His jaw tensed at the sight. They weren’t dancing heatedly but it still bothered him regardless.

They had been broken up for almost six months now but it seems when she came back all the feelings he had thought he got over came right back with her. Fate was the kind of girl every guy dreamed about, gorgeous, fun, smart and exceptionally good in bed—considering she was a virgin when they met.

They had dated happily for two years until they found out she got pregnant. They decided they would keep the baby after talking about it. Dayne’s family were not happy but the supported him whatever his decision. After a few weeks they had gone to the doctors for a sonogram and Dayne had become really excited about becoming a dad.

Of course that was until, she up and left one day leaving him a note behind telling him she had the baby terminated and was really sorry. Dayne was crushed, in a day he lost the one girl he was crazy about along with his unborn child.

“Hey, what are you thinking about so deeply?” his girlfriends voice purred in his ear. He smiled and turned to face her.

“Nothing baby, where were you?” he asked pulling her into his lap once again wrapping his arms around her waist.

She flushed instantly but recovered before Dayne noticed. “Bathroom, I think I had way too many shots.” She giggled.

Dayne chuckled. “You think?” Eyvah grinned pressing a kiss to his temple. Her brown eyes looked over his head and met Jaiden’s who sat to Dayne’s left watching her intently.

Minutes earlier....

Eyvah sighed looking at reflection in the mirror. She fingered her dark locks and jumped startled when the bathroom door opened and slammed shut.

She gasped when she saw Jaiden standing a few feet away. “Uh, Jaiden the men’s bathroom is next door.” She said jabbing her finger in the direction of the wall to her right.

Jaiden smirked. “I know.” He said reaching over and locking the bathroom door.

Eyvah’s heart began racing when came and stood closer to her. “Right, then what are you doing in her-”

Jaiden pressed his finger to her lips silencing her. “Shh, you’re asking too many questions.” He said pressing himself into her further.

Eyvah gaped at him wide eyed. “I only asked one.” She said in a hushed tone.

Jaiden grinned. “What’s it gonna take to keep you quiet?” he asked leaning down so their faces were less than inches apart.

“Uhm...” Eyvah mumbled against his finger which was still gently pressed on her lips. “Jaiden.” She breathed her eyes slid shut when she felt his breath on her lips.

“Mmm?” Jaiden hummed quietly his finger now tracing her jaw line.

“What are you...um, doing?” She asked once she found her voice. Her eyes fluttered open and again locked with a pair of starling blue ones which almost caught her breath.

“I honestly don’t know. I just....you’re so beautiful; I can’t get you out of my mind. I know it’s wrong, but I have never wanted anyone so much before. I close my eyes and I see you, I breathe and I swear I can smell you’re sweet scent. You’re
unknowingly driving me insane; I want you...I want you so bad, I can’t believe my own damn luck that my brother got to you first.” He said caressing her cheek.

Eyvah lost her voice once again she couldn’t think straight with him this close. “I’m going to kiss you if you don’t stop me.” he whispered gazing into her eyes. When Eyvah made no move to stop him he slowly pressed his lips to hers ignoring the voice in his head screaming at him to pull away.

Eyvah parted her lips granting him access when she felt his tongue lightly swipe at her lower lip. They both moaned lowly when their tongues touched tenderly and began exploring each other.

Eyvah was sure she would lose her mind at moment if he continued to kiss her so delicately. She wanted to taste more of him so she slid her hands up to his face cupping his cheeks and pulling his lips closer to hers to deepen the kiss further.

Jaiden groaned and much to Eyvah’s dismay he pulled away ending the kiss. “Fuck.” He cursed darkly dropping his head in shame. “Shit, shit, shit.” He mumbled stepping away and shaking his head.

Eyvah took a step closer to him. “Jaiden...” She said touching his arm and fought the urge to cry when he jumped away like her touch burned him.

He shook his head. “No don’t. He’s my brother, my brother, I can’t...I shouldn’t have...fuck!” he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He looked up for the first time since the kiss and met her eyes. “Go.” He said gesturing to the door with his head.

Eyvah shook her head and took another step toward him but he retreated, “Jaiden, I’ve liked you from the moment I met you. I want you to-” Jaiden held up his hand.

“No don’t, I don’t wanna know. Just go back to my brother and forget about everything, the kiss, all of it.” He said pinching the bridge his nose. “So fucking stupid.” He muttered to himself.

“And what about you?” Eyvah asked crossing her arms and glaring at him.

Jaiden’s head snapped up at looked at her. “What about me?”

“Your feelings, you can’t just ignore them.”
Jaiden shrugged. “What other fucking choice do I have?” he said trying desperately not to raise his voice.

“I could break up with-” Eyvah began but Jaiden laughed bitterly.

“Don’t be stupid. You think I’m going to date you after you break up with my brother?” he asked incredulously.

Eyvah arched a brow now annoyed. “Gee, I don’t know Jaiden, you didn’t seem to have a problem kissing me while I’m dating him.” she said tauntingly.

Jaiden glared at her. “That was a mistake.” He said his tone taut. “And what did you think, you were going to break up with my brother and he would be happy to see his younger brother get together with his ex-girlfriend, who he happens to really like?” he snorted. “Get real.”

“No, I just thought if we gave him enough time maybe he would-”

“What...give us his blessing?” Jaiden interrupted. “I don’t see that happening somehow, Eyvah.” Jaiden said pacing the
bathroom.

“Well what do you suggest then?” Eyvah snapped throwing her arms up in the air.

“Nothing!” he said hotly. “I’m not going to screw my brother over for a fucking girl. It doesn’t matter how much I like you, I won’t betray my brother like that. I’d rather put a gun to my fucking head than hurt him...no fucking way.” He said rubbing his chin.

Eyvah shook her head. “I understand. I guess we should just forget about everything and bury our feelings.” she said dejectedly. They shared one last look before Eyvah walked over to the door and unlocked it leaving him standing in the ladies bathroom.

A tall redhead walked in after Eyvah walked out with a scowl on her face. She stopped when she saw Jaiden standing there and arched a brow at him.

“Sorry, men’s room was full and I was desperate to go.” He said sheepishly before slipping out of the bathroom.
Jaiden was inwardly kicking himself, how could he be so stupid kissing his brothers girlfriend like that? If Dayne found out he would never forgive him not to mention he would bury him six feet under.

Jaiden couldn’t stand watching the ‘happy couple’ he shook his head, downed another shot and took off to find a girl who could take his mind off Eyvah Blake.

^^**^^

“Mmm,” Leila moaned closing her eyes. “Wow this cake is incredible.” She added licking her lips. “Mmh!”

“My god Lei, get a room.” Chase said shaking his head. Marc chuckled beside him.

Leila opened her eyes and grinned at her best friend. “I would get a room with his cake, I’d show it a reeeaaal good time too.” She said causing both boys to laugh while tapping on the Xbox controllers.

“Mm, I’m beginning to feel envious of that cake, hunikins.” Marc said throwing his pregnant girlfriend a playful glance.
Leila grinned. “Good, you shouldn’t have gotten me pregnant. It’s your fault I look like a fat pilgrim.” She said pouting a little.

Marc and Chase looked at Leila and frowned. “Lei, you’re five months pregnant and you don’t have an ounce of fat on you.” Chase informed her.

Leila arched a brow at her best friend. “Really, try telling my ass that.” She said with a scowl.

Chase grinned. “Okay, bend over.” He quipped causing Marc to cackle beside him. He stopped when Leila shot him a death glare.
“Sorry, baby. But Chase is right, you’re not fat.” He told her and grinned sexily when she continued to pout. “You look great.”
“You have to say that. Or you know I’ll kill you.” She grumbled placing the cake she was eating down but looking at it
longingly.

“Leila, when have I ever lied to you, hmm?” Chase asked pausing the game they were playing to look at her.

Leila’s brows rose slightly. “Do you really want me to answer that?” Chase frowned.

“Okay that bit.” Chase said with a scowl directed toward Leila.

“Don’t you get me started on you...” she said pointing at him with an annoyed look. Chase gaped at her in disbelief.

“Don’t you get bitchy with me, woman.” Chase said pointing right back at her.

Leila’s blue eyes narrowed, “Who are you calling a bitch, you pig.” She spat. Marc shook his head rolling his eyes.

“I’m the pig; at least I don’t eat everything in sight.” He said angrily. Leila’s jaw dropped. Marc’s mouth formed into an ‘oh’
Chase was sure gonna get it now.

“I do NOT eat everything in sight, how dare you insinuate that I’m fat, you insensitive jerk!” Leila snapped hotly.

“Rather be a jerk than a bitch!”

“Rather be a bitch than a man-whore!”

“Fatty!” Chase spat

“Retard!” Leila retorted.

“Midget!”

“Nitwit!”

Marc looked back and forth between the two. “Uh guys...”

“Twit!”

“Moron!”

“Airhead!”

“Bonehead!”

“Meathead!”

A moment of silence and then Leila began wailing. “I’m sorrrrrryyyyyyyy!” she whimpered covering her face with her hands. Chase’s eyes which were narrow now grew wide as he quickly rushed over to her.

“No, no, no, please don’t cry, I’m sorry sweets. I didn’t mean to upset you, please forgive me?” he said pulling her hands away from her face so she could look at him. Leila sniffled.

“You’re right, I am a bitch. I don’t know what’s wrong with meee...” she sobbed.

Chase hugged her and sighed. “You’re not a bitch babe, I’m an idiot. I never meant any of the things I said to you. You’re beautiful okay?” He assured her pulling back to look into her sapphire blue eyes.

Leila nodded and pulled away wiping away her tears. “God, I’ve turned into a hormotional freak.” She muttered walking over to Marc’s open arms. Marc had gotten used to Chase and Leila bickering and yelling at each other. The first time he tried to stop them they both began yelling at him which turned into a big argument. So now he just leaves them to it.

“Honey, you’re not a freak, your hormones are all over the place right now, it’s natural for you to feel this way.” Marc said pressing a kiss to her temple.

“I hate it; I don’t have any control over my emotions. If I’m not yelling at someone I’m crying or throwing up.”

“Lei don’t worry about it okay, stressing yourself out can’t be good for the baby.”Chase he said. “You can yell and bitch at me
whenever you want, I don’t mind. I’ve grown quite fond of it actually.” he said with a chuckle.

Leila smiled, “You’re weird anyone ever tell you that?”

“Yes my dear, you do me that honour almost every day.” He said grinning. Leila shook her head at her best friend’s antics. “I’m
friggin hungry, when are we going to dinner?” Chase asked rubbing his stomach which grumbled unpleasantly.

“Oh, we’re just waiting for Violet, she should be here soon. She did say six, right?” Leila asked Marc who nodded his head.
Chase frowned. “Who’s Violet?” he asked falling back on the chair opposite Leila and Marc.

“Marc’s best friend.” Leila informed Chase who looked surprised.

“Hmm, you have a best friend that’s a chick?”

“Yes, why?” Marc asked cocking a brow.

Chase shrugged. “Nothing, just surprised is all.” He said yawning. “She hot?” he asked suddenly.

Marc frowned and opened his mouth to answer but the knock on the door interrupted him. “You’re about to find out.” He said shifting to get up and answer the door.

Leila kicked Chase on the shin. “Ow, what the hell?” he asked with a frown.

Leila scowled. “Behave, and sit up. You look like a slob.” She scolded him.

Chase rolled his eyes. “Yes mother.” he uttered pulling himself up and rubbing his leg while cursing under his breath.

In the corridor you could hear Marc greeting Violet and inviting her in. Minutes later Marc walked in and dropped beside Leila again. Chase looked around and arched a brow.

“So, Violet invisible is she?” he said with a smirk.

“No, she’s using the bathroom.” He informed him and Chase nodded. A moment of silence passed and Violets heels clacking
against the hardwood floor was heard in the hallway.

She squealed when she walked in and rushed over to Leila. “Oh My God, look at you, you’ve grown so big.” She said and Leila arched a brow.

“Well, I like to think so I am twenty three after all.” She teased.

Violet laughed and placed her hands on Leila’s now visible bump. “Hi baby, I’m your auntie Violet.” She cooed gently caressing Leila belly.

“Vi, don’t deafen my child.” Marc scolded her and received a glare in return. Leila laughed as the two began bickering. She cast a look at Chase and noticed he was watching Violet and Marc with an amused look on his face.

“Hey Violet, I’d like to introduce you to my best friend.” Leila said gesturing to Chase who was sitting behind her. Violet turned and smiled when she saw him. “Chase Adams, meet Violet Scott.” Chase reached forward with a charming smile and shook Violets hand.

“Hi, nice to meet you, I’m sorry about that. Marc can be annoying at times” She said pulling her hand back.

Chase chuckled and looked at Leila. “Trust me I understand. I have a crazy best friend too so I know how it goes.”

“Hey!” Leila said offended.

Chase smirked. “Aw Lei, you know I love you really.”

“Bite me.” she said with a scowl.

Chase chuckled. “Don’t tempt me.” Leila crinkled her nose at him.

“Ass,” She mumbled pulling a face at Chase who grinned and blew a kiss at her.

“Alright, before you two get into another round of bickering can we please go and eat, I’m famished.” Marc said and grinned when Leila nodded.

An hour later the foursome were sitting in ‘Pavia’s’ a well known Mexican restaurant. They were crunching on Nachos whilst waiting for their meal to arrive.

“...So anyway, she comes up to me in all her six year old glory and grins. And might I add that she had a gap where she lost her two front teeth.” They all chuckle and Leila blushes furiously. “And she say’s and I quote ‘Hi, I’m Leila, wanna play doctor?’” Chase finished with a laugh when Leila threw a tortilla chip at him.

“You did not say that?” Marc asked Leila who nodded.

“I did...what don’t look at me like that; if you wanna blame someone blame my parents.” Leila said defensively.
When Marc and Violet shot her a questioning look she explained. “Well, I was always walking in on them kissing or groping each other, so when I asked what they were doing, my dad would come up with most ridiculous excuses ever. He would say he was checking my mother’s mouth to make sure she was brushing her teeth or that she hurt herself and he was just ‘making it better’ by being a doctor.” They all chuckled.

Chase laughed. “I’m telling you, I thought your Dad was going to have a stroke when you said that. You could literally see the colour drain from his face.” Violet laughed and began choking on the margarita she had sipped. Marc began slapping her back a grin on his face when she glared at him. “You good?” Chase asked arching a brow. Violet nodded and smiled at him showing her appreciation.

The foursome continued to converse when their meal came. Leila ordered burritos, Marc ordered Fajita’s, Violet got Cajun chicken salad and Chase was munching away on Taco’s. Violet leaned back and watched Chase closely while he was talking with Leila.

The two had an enormous grin on their faces when they spoke; Leila and Chase seemed to be extremely close, it was obvious they had a history to anyone with eyes or wasn’t blind. Violet observed how the two interacted with each other. Chase would tease her and she would scowl or pout at him which in return Chase would tweak her nose earning himself a slap on his hand.

It was in his eyes, Chase adored Leila and vice versa, his eyes seemed to light up when he was close to her or even looking at her. It was a look of devotion. Violet turned her attention to her best friend, Marc was laughing along with whatever Leila was explaining to him.

Violet noticed his eye were brighter than she had ever seen them before, his smile was filled with happiness and affection when he looked at his one true love, Leila Callaway.

Leila had to be the luckiest girl in the world; two absolutely wonderful men adored her. Violet could only wish to be so lucky someday. To find a guy that looks at her like Marc does, full of love and tenderness.
She blinked when she felt Marc nudge her with his elbow. “What are you gawping at?” he asked curiosity dancing around in his eyes.

Violet smiled. “I’ve never seen you so happy before.” She said and watched as his face lit up when he glanced at Leila who was stealing Chase’s food and giggling.

“That’s because I wasn’t happy until now. I’m right where I wanna be, with the girl I am head over heels in love with a baby on the way.” He shrugged. “It’s the best feeling in the world; I just can’t wait to make her my wife then everything will be absolutely perfect.” He said and smiled when Leila looked at him and grinned.

Leila licked her lips a mischievous smile on her face as he held her boyfriends gaze steadily. She pulled her foot out of the shoe she was wearing and slyly slid it up his leg. Marc’s eyes widened and he looked at Chase and Violet who were talking not paying attention.

When Leila’s foot brushed against his groin he jumped up causing his knee to thumping against the table with a ‘dunk’ Chase and Violet stopped talking and looked at Marc questioningly.

Marc smiled sheepishly. “Muscle spasm.” He said and waited for their reaction. Chase arched a brow and looked at Leila who was sitting to beside him. Leila looked up at him her blue eyes wide feigning innocence.

Chase leaned in and whispered something in her ear which caused Leila to flush and shake her head amused. Chase grinned and Leila elbowed him in the gut causing him to grunt and scowl at her.

“Hey, I was only saying.” Chase teased with a sexy smirk. Leila shot him a disbelieving look before she turned her attention back to Marc who was silently questioning her. She shook her head and he nodded with a chuckle.

“Whatever, I gotta tinkle, Violet you coming?” Leila asked.

Chase chuckled. “Am I not invited?” he said with a snicker. Leila smiled at him and stomped on his foot causing him to yelp.
“Ow!” he glowered scowling at her. “Damn it Leila, you’re wearing heels.” He scolded her. Leila however didn’t even blink in response.

“Serves you right.” she grumbled in return.

Chase narrowed his eyes at her as Violet leaned over to see if he was okay, she touched his arm and smiled sweetly when he met
her eyes.

“Chase!” a familiar voice called from behind him. Chase jumped slightly startled and looked behind him only to find Nicole glaring at him hands at her hips.

“Oh excellent.” He heard Leila mumble beside him.

“Nicole?” he said looking up at her as she moved to stand beside him.

Nicole’s green gaze fell on his arm where Violets hand was still resting on his forearm. She sneered sending violet a murderous glance.

“Nicole, what a surprise, whose pants did you just crawl out of?” Leila asked with a sickly sweet smile.

Nicole’s green eyes darkened when they fell on Leila. “Oh Leila, is that you, my don’t you look like a whale. What happened
honey, did all the carb’s finally catch up to you?” She said with a vicious smile.

“Nicole.” Chase said firmly. Nicole however kept her eyes trained on Leila, the two glaring at each other.

Leila placed her hand on chases arm and squeezed it. “No it’s fine Chase, it seems being dumped has left Nicole a little bitter. Aww I would say I’m sorry but I’m really not.”

“The only reason I was dump was because of you, you stupid bitch. You couldn’t let it go could you; you just had to stick your oar in. And for what, you made him dump me and you didn’t even have the decency to give him a chance, what kind of a vicious bitch does that?” Nicole spat.

Chase glared at Nicole and took a hold of her wrist. “Nicole, that’s enough.” He said raising his voice.
Nicole looked at him in disbelief. “No it’s not; I’m only just getting started. How can you stand there and defend her when all she has done is hurt you? God, Chase, you’re so fucking blind you can’t see what a selfish bitch she really is.”

“Oh don’t preach shit to me Nicole, you’re the selfish one not me. The only reason you stuck your claws into Chase was tear us apart, but guess what you lost, he still chose me because face it you meant nothing to him.” Leila said rising from her chair.

“We loved each other, we were happy until you decided to screw with him!” Nicole said taking a step closer to Leila who laughed.

“Oh please, if he was so in love with you why did he dump you and come after me?”

Chase whipped his head around to glare at Leila. “Leila, stop it.” He said quietly.

Leila shook her head. “No, she has no right traipsing in here and accusing me of shit she knows nothing about.”

“I loved him and you couldn’t stand to see him happy with another. You just had to make it all about you, like you always do, and of course Chase being the idiot that he is always runs back to you.” she said and looked at Chase. “Why can’t you see that she’s using you, she always has Chase.”

“She’s not using me Nicole, you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Fact of the matter is Leila’s right, I never loved you, I’m sorry. I told you before, it’s always been Leila, and even if she chose to be with somebody else, I don’t care as long as she’s happy. My relationship with Leila has nothing to do with you or anybody else. We’ve been through sticker shit than this and still made it through stronger than ever. ” he said letting go of Nicole’s arm.

“God, you’re such an idiot Chase. She’s playing you for a fool. She doesn’t give a shit about you.”

“Really, because I seem to remember it was Leila that waited by my bedside when I was in hospital, she kept by me and went sleepless for days on end without as much as a complaint. It was her who stood by me when I had a drug problem; she was the one who pushed me to be a better person. It was her that pulled me back up when I was left of dead on the ground, I don’t remember seeing you there. I have had enough of standing by and watching you criticize her. If Leila wants to make a fool of me then she’s welcome to, she earned that right. I owe her everything and she will always be the centre of my life no matter who I end up with do you understand? I never loved you because you were always so vicious towards her; if it ever came down to me choosing between her and another woman it will always be her hands down. You don’t stand a chance, you never did so deal with it and move on.” He said glowering at her.

Nicole was close to tears. “So what we had meant nothing to you?” she asked her voice trembling.

Chase shook his head. “Look I liked you, but I wasn’t capable of loving you. You’re not the kind of girl I see myself settling down with.”

Nicole’s eyes snapped down to Violet who frowned when she saw she was being glared at. “And this bitch is?” Nicole spat.

“Excuse me?” Violet snapped jumping to her feet. “Who the hell are you calling a bitch, slut?” she said taking a step closer to Nicole. Marc who was standing beside Leila pulled violet back.

“Leave her out of this.” Chase said stepping in front of Violet.

Nicole and Chase continued to glare at each other for a moment before Nicole smirked and looked back at Violet. “I’d reconsider dating him honey, unless of course you want to be used and discarded afterwards. He only has eyes for one woman, that bitch will do anything to keep him all for herself.”

Leila scoffed. “Oh but you’re wrong, I’d be more than happy if he dated Violet, she more of a woman than you can ever dream of being.”

“You mean you’re not dating?” Nicole asked Chase who frowned.

“No we’re not, but the nights not over yet. I might just have to consider.” Violet said pulling out of Marc’s hold and moving towards Chase who looked back at her with questioning look on his face.

Nicole looked between the two and snorted. “You’re not his type, Chase likes his girls with legs longer than a twelve year olds.” She retorted.

“Well, you know what they say; the best things come in small packages.” She said looking up at Chase her brown eyes teasing. “What do you say, Chase wanna give it a go?”

Chase met her eyes and couldn’t help but smile at the petite girl. “I’m game if you are, babe.” He said grinning.

Violet licked her lips and looked back at Marc and Leila. “Leila, do I have your approval?” she asked and watched as Leila smirked and looked at her ex-best friend.

“Absolutely.” She said cuddling up to Marc who watched the scene before him in bewilderment.

“Marc?” Chase said silently asking his of his approval.
Marc nodded, “Hurt her and I kill you.” he said before winking at Violet.

Violet looked back at Nicole who looked livid, her eyes were bulging out of their sockets and she almost look like she had steam coming out of her ears. “You should really think twice before insulting people you don’t know.” Violet said stepping closer to Chase and slipping her hand up his muscular back. “Aww, but don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him.” she cooed pushing herself up on her tippy toes she pressed a kiss on the corner of Chase’s mouth her lips lingering a few seconds when

Chase turned his head slightly and brushed his lips against hers kissing her fully on the lips.
Nicole screeched and she stormed passed the two couples and out of the restaurant. Leila watched with glee as her best friend kissed Violet pretty heatedly as other people in the restaurant gave them a round of applaud.

She shivered when she felt her boyfriend’s warm breath against her neck. “That was very malicious of you Leil’s. I almost feel guilty for being turned on right now.”

Leila smiled slyly, “Aww well it’s too bad that you feel guilty, because I was thinking I could to take you home and deal with that little problem of yours but you know....” Marc’s brows went up intriguingly.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa I said almost guilty, I’m certain one of your mind blowing kisses would dispose of what little guilt I feel...” he said quietly nipping at her ear delicately.

“Why don’t you get the check so we can get the hell out of here?” Leila suggested brushing her lips over his as she spoke.

“I don’t think it’s a very good idea for us to move right now. I’ve been sporting a very noticeable yet painful erection all night,” he whispered causing Leila to blush. “You’re unknowingly turning me on, baby. You just had to wear a top that can’t keep your new large breasts covered. You’re killing me.” he mumbled making sure to keep his hands from slipping and grabbing something he shouldn’t in public.

To others it may look like they are standing closely whispering to each other, but little did they know Marc was slyly grinding himself against Leila’s leg.

“Do you think you can keep Master M at bay long enough for us to get the hell out of here?” she asked quietly looking up at him with lust filled eyes.

“I could try, but you’re really going to have to have to cover your boob’s up if you want me to accomplish that.” Leila laughed and nodded.

“Okay, I’m going to tell Chase that we’re leaving.” Leila said and walked away from Marc and headed towards Chase and Violet who were talking quietly with each other. Chase was wearing his sexy grin which only meant he was charming Violet, who was smiling brightly her cheeks a lovely pink.

“Hey,” Leila said stepping to their line of view. She looked down and noticed they were holding hands and resisted the urge to yelp ‘aww’ out loud. She didn’t want to embarrass them.

“Hey, what’s up?” Chase asked arching a brow when he saw she was grinning at him like a mad woman.
“Oh nothing, I just wanted to let you guys know that Marc and I are taking off. We’ve taken care of the bill so just stay and
enjoy, okay?” Leila said placing her hand on Chase’s shoulder.

Violet frowned. “Oh, why we were having so much fun?”

“Yeah we were it’s definitely been one hell of a night. But I’m wiped, I’m gonna go home and take a nice long bath and curl up in bed.”Leila said but caught Chase’s eyes.

He chuckled. “In other words, she and Marc are going to go home and hump like two wild bunnies.” He teased and both girls
gasped. Leila smacked him upside the head.

“Chase!” Violet scolded him slapping him playfully on the chest.

Chase scowled at both girls. “Oh good now I’m getting abused by two women, like Leila’s slaps and punches weren’t bad enough.” He grumbled and turned back to face Leila. “And don’t you go acting all coy; I saw the way you and Marc were making eyes at each other all night.”

Leila flushed. “Like the way you and Violet were making eyes at each other you mean?” she asked and watched with amusement as Violet turned beet red.

“I’m not ashamed to admit it, precious.”

“You wanna hear it Chase that’s fine, I’m going to go home and screw my boyfriends brains out, there happy?” she said crossing
her arms over her chest and glaring at her best friend.

Chase snickered. “Pedantic much?” Leila shook her head whilst shooting daggers at him.

“I will kick you.” she warned him gallantly before turning on her heel an attempting to walk off.

Chase laughed and caught her wrist before she stomped off. Leila scowled at ready to yell at him. “Can we have a private word before you go?” he asked seriously.

Leila’s features softened and she nodded. “Excuse me for a minute, I’ll be right back.” he said and ushered Leila away to talk.
They came to a stop beside the bathrooms. Leila leaned against the wall and waited for him to speak. Chase cleared his throat and regarded her seriously for a moment. “Um, I just wanted to make sure you were okay, Nicole said some pretty hurtful things?”

Leila sighed and scratched her forehead. “I don’t let her get to me Chase you know that. But thanks for defending me though it really meant a lot. I want you to know that I really do love you and that’s never gonna change. You’re a necessity in my life Chase. I’d be completely lost without you. And I know I hurt you by choosing Marc but I couldn’t help falling for him.” she said forlornly.

Chase nodded. “Leila, don’t apologise. I’m going to be honest with you, okay. I’ll never get over you, not really. I’ll be eighty years old and still love you. And as much as it hurt to lose you to another guy, after so long of dreaming about being with you, I can see how much better for Marc is. He makes you smile in a way I’ve never seen you smile before. I’m happy for you I really am. You and Marc give me hope, that one day I’ll find what you and he have. You now the kind of hope you’re parents gave us, the kind of love they proved to us existed.”

Leila’s eyes filled with tears as she nodded. She looked to her right and saw Violet and Marc throwing breadsticks at each other laughing. “Chase, I want you to do something for me?” she said looking up at him.

Chase nodded. “Anything.”

Leila gestured towards their table. “Don’t let what I did to you keep you from opening up to her. If I learned one thing from what happened between us it’s to never be afraid. That’s where we went wrong, we were so afraid of losing each other we missed the window of opportunity to be together. I don’t want you to do the same thing with Violet, if you think you have a future together please don’t shut yourself off, she’s a really amazing girl and I can see her making you happy someday.”

Chase looked at violet and smiled. “How can you possibly tell we just met?” he asked incredulously.

Leila shrugged. “It’s a girl thing.” Chase shook his head in amusement.

“Crazy girl.” he said pulling her into him. Leila wrapped her arms around him nestling herself into his chest relishing in his
warmth as they embraced tightly. “Go on, waddle your way over to your man, he’s waiting.” He laughed but yelped when Leila
pinched his nipple hard.

“Ooh, are we getting frisky?” He teased and Leila elbowed him in his gut this time.

“Pervert.” She mumbled stepping away from him.

Chase grinned when she began waddling away. “You know, you’re not going to be pregnant forever. Once you pop out that baby I’m
gonna kick your scrawny little ass.”

He heard Leila laughed. “Oooh, bring it on Adam’s. And my ass isn’t scrawny you jerk!” she threw over her shoulder before she
reached their table and all but dragged Marc out of the restaurant.

He strolled over to the table back to his date who smiled up at him. “Ten bucks say’s they do it once in the car before they
get home.” Violet laughed.

Chase smirked. “I’ll lose that bet.” He said leaning forward and taking her hand.

“Everything alright with you and Leila?” she questioned bringing her other hand and delicately playing with the hairs on his
right arm. A quiver shot up Chase’s spine at the intimate contact.

“Yeah, never better.” He said a content smile on his face as he continued to dine with his date.
