Chapter 27
I realized, I never mentioned what Mark Graves did for their wedding cake. I\'ll have to put that in somewhere in the next chapters.

Chapter 27
“I don’t like him.” I said to Dicky. We were relaxing together on a chaise lounge and umbrella. After the wedding, instead of going off somewhere together, we decided to spend three days vacationing on the beach with our family. That included, Diana’s family, Christina’s family, our family, and the parents. Oh, and Angel too.
“Who?”
“Damon’s friend.”
“Angel? Well, why?”
I looked away from watching the family all play together along the beach and the younger children making sand castles, to Damon and Angel sitting alone further down the beach. “I don’t know. I just have this bad feeling about him.”
“Baby, you can’t base the reason for not liking someone on a bad feeling.”
“Well, look. They’re sitting all the way over there. Away from his family.....”
“.....Being teenagers.”
“What?”
“They’re teenagers, Drew. And their dating. They want to be alone. Leave them alone.”
“That’s bull. We never did that. When we went home to see your mother for Thanksgiving after we got married, I never kept you away from your family.”
“That’s because we spent most of the time arguing. We didn’t want any alone time.” He laughed.
I stared at him. “Dicky.”
“You’re being ridiculous, Drew. There is nothing bad about that boy that we need to worry about.”
“I hope you’re right.” Suddenly, a beach bucket full of water was poured over me and Dicky. I looked up and saw Greg, Violet, and little Brittany giggling uncontrollably. We chased the little rugrats down the beach.

Damon’s POV....
“Did you have a good time at the wedding?” I asked Angel. We were both sitting indian style in front of each other in the sand.
“Yeah. It was great. Your parents look well together.”
“Yeah.” I played with the sand, picking it up and letting it run between my fingers. “I’m sorry I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with you. You know, being in the wedding and all.”
“Don’t worry about it. You can make it up to me when me and the guys go to Bakersfield next week.”
“What?”
“We’re ditching school and driving to Bakersfield for a little partying and you’re coming with me.”
My eyes bugged out. “What? I...... no...... I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“I can’t ditch school, Angel. My parents will kill me if they found out.”
Angel rubbed his hand against my tank top clad shoulder. “They won’t find out. We’ll be back by the time school lets out. I promise. And so what if they do find out. You’re not a baby. They don’t tell you what to do.”
I thought for a minute. “Actually......”
“Do you wanna be with me or not, Damon?” Angel asked sternly. It kind of shook me. I never heard him use that tone with me before.
“Y-yes. I do.”
“Then you’ll spend some time with me in Bakersfield.” He placed his hand to my neck and rubbed the skin there gently. “Nothing or no one will take you away from me, Damon.” He looked me square in the eye. “And I mean NO ONE.”
************
Dicky’s POV......
“Where the hell is he?!!” Drew yelled. He was pacing from the front door to the kitchen where I was sitting, on occasion, he’d check outside from the glass of the door. Damon had went off to school this morning, supposedly. When we got home, the school secretary left a message on the answering machine asking why Damon didn’t go to school today. Drew had tried to call his cell hundreds of times, but he kept getting Damon’s voice mail. It was now 8:30 p.m. and we had no idea where he was. “Just wait ‘til I get my hands on him!” Drew was still pacing. I was silent. Not knowing what to say. At times, that was the best thing to do when Drew would just start fussing.
8:45, we heard the front door unlock. Drew started to move towards the door, but I stopped him. “Let me do it.” Damon walked inside the house and shut the door. “Did you have fun at school today?” I asked him. Damon looked at me with a tired look on his face.
“I know, dad. I did something stupid today and I’m sorry.”
“That’s all you can say?”
“What do you WANT me to say?”
“How about where you’ve been?” Drew asked.
“Me, Angel, and the guys went to Bakersfield.”
“Bakersfield? For what?”
“A party.”
“A party?” I said. “On a Wednesday?”
“Yeah. I’m sorry. I really didn’t want to go.”
“Then why did you go?” Drew asked.
Damon shrugged. “I wanted to be with Angel.”
“You know school comes before everything, Damon.”
“I know.”
“And you don’t go partying on a damn Wednesday. You especially don’t go if you haven’t asked us first. You understand?”
“Yes. I’m sorry.” He walked upstairs to his room. When he was gone, we looked at each other and sighed.

Andrew’s POV......
It had been a month since our wedding and since Damon’s been with Angel. During that time, the boy has come over to our house a couple times for dinner or just to hang out with Damon. I’ve been courteous to him when I see him and speak, but I still get this funny feeling when I’m around him. And Angel’s always touching him! What is that all about? Is it supposed to be some type of protection? What does he need to protect Damon from us for? Of course Dicky thinks I’m overreacting, so I’m not going to beat myself up over it.
But with all this affection, I can’t help but think that Angel will want something more pretty soon. First it was the constant touching, now it’s kissing him openly in front of us, next will be.............
I took Damon out to the mall one weekend. I told him we were going to do a little wardrobe upgrading, but I really planned on talking with him about “Sex Education 101 For Gays”. We ate pizza together in the food court. “Can I ask you something, Damon?”
“What?” He said with a mouth full of food.
I was quite for a second as I tried to get my words together. “How do you feel about Angel?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, how do you really feel about him? Do you love him?”
Damon smiled. “A little early for love isn’t it dad?”
“True. Well, do you like him?”
“Yeah.”
“You think it’s getting serious between you two?”
“I think so.” He sipped his soda.
I leaned in to the table and looked at my son. “Has he tried to put the moves on you yet?”
Damon nearly choked on his drink. “W-what?”
“Have you two had sex?”
“No.”
“Are you planning on it?”
“No. Dad, where is all this coming from?”
“I just want to be sure you haven’t done something you’re not ready for yet.”
“How do you know I’m not ready yet?”
“Because you’re sixteen.”
“What’s that got to do with it?”
“Plenty.” I sighed. “Look, I know this is your first boyfriend and all, but don’t rush yourself. Don’t give your innocence away to just anybody.”
“Angel is not ‘just anybody’.”
“Are you sure?”
“....”
“Maybe he’s not. I don’t know. And neither do you. That’s why I’m saying give it time before you get in the sack. Over time, you may realize he isn’t someone you want to be with and you’ll find somebody else. Trust me on this. I know from experience.”
“You gave your virginity away to a bum?”
“Well, no. Not at the time, he wasn’t. But heaven knows I’ve given it up a few times to some bad ones in the past.”
He nodded. “I see what you’re saying.”
“Good. Now, if you happen to forget and go all the way, PLEASE use protection. People are crazy now a days and don’t give a damn about whether you need to know if they’re carrying a virus or not. As a matter of fact, we’ll stop by the drug store on our way home.”
“Dad. Come on. That’s embarrassing.”
“Not as embarrassing as coming home to tell your parents you got HIV.”
************
Damon’s POV.......
“Angel.....Angel I gotta go.” I whispered to my boyfriend.
“Ummm. Just a few more minutes.” He answered as he started to kiss down my neck. We were both stretched out on his bed one Friday night at his apartment.
His lips moved to mine and I was hard for me to talk. “It’s getting late and I’m tired.”
“Well then, in my bed is the best place for you.” His hand moved under my shirt and tweaked one of my nipples. I gasped. “I guarantee comfort.”
“No. We’re doing a family thing tomorrow and I need to get packed and in bed asleep.”
“You can’t skip the family thing and spend your time here with me......... doing stuff?”
“I’m sorry. I can’t.” Angel sighed disappointedly and sat up. He was quiet for a while, sitting on the edge of the bed, his back facing me. I slowly sat up and touched his shoulder. “Angel. I’d stay if I could, but you know I can’t. My family is expecting me. I’m sorry.”
He jumped up. “Would you stop saying that! I know you’re sorry! I don’t need to hear it every fucking minute!” He breathed deeply and said more calmly. “Just go.”
I got up -a bit shaken- from the bed and walked out the room and out the front door. I hate seeing Angel like that. I hate thinking that someone, who has taken a liking to me, doesn’t get to spend time with me like they would like to. I hate that I can’t give him the intimacy that he wants. Lately, Angel wants to start taking our relationship to another level and he has been pressuring me to have sex with him. Every time he brings it up or tries take my clothes off, I keep remembering what me and my dad talked about in the mall a few weeks ago and I tell him ‘no’. At first, Angel accepted it, but lately he’s been getting frustrated and...........I don’t want to upset him like this but, I don’t know what to do. In a way, I want to listen to what my dad said, but then I’m there with Angel and think, “I must do this”. He’s threatened me a few times about it, saying he might leave me if I don’t give him what he wants. I mean, I don’t want to lose him because of this and it looks like it might just happen if I don’t give in.
