Chapter twenty-six:
Naoya leapt forward and attacked the black tiger with his powerful claws, making three perfectly straight lines down its belly. The black tiger snarled at him with angry red eyes. As it leapt forward to attack him, Naoya jumped back and transformed into his human form, surprising the black tiger. With a cold smirk he brought out his pistol which surprised the black tiger even more. “I don't have time to play with you,” he said before he fired the pistol.
“That is cheating Naoya,” the black tiger muttered out as she lay in pain on the cold street with blood dripping out of her wounded shoulder. “You broke the rules,” the black tiger snarled. Naoya walked over to his ex-wife and kicked her tiger form hard in the ribs. “Somaly, you broke the rules first when you attacked Rei who was innocent in all of this.” Somaly laughed sinisterly. “And who is going to tell on me? You? They wouldn't believe you Naoya,” she pointed out to him. “But they'll believe me,” said Hiro. He had found Naoya earlier, but Naoya was in the middle of battle and he couldn't interrupt. Naoya was rendered speechless to have his cousin Hiro standing before him, alive and looking well. He snapped out out of his shock right away when he saw the boy in Hiro’s arms. “Rei!” Naoya rushed over to Hiro and took Rei into his arms. "The boy is fine Naoya. I gave him a bit of my blood to help heal his wounds," Hiro told Naoya. Naoya’s ex-wife didn't like it one bit that Naoya cared so damn much about that boy she thought she had killed. She was raging deep inside with anger, anger that she didn't understand. She picked herself up on all fours and sneered at Naoya. “You don't deserve happiness Naoya. One day I'll kill that boy,” she threatened, then she turned and ran off. "This battle with her seemed a lot shorter than usual Naoya,” Hiro commented. “That’s because I was worried about Rei,” Naoya confessed to his cousin. Naoya gazed down at Rei and called out his name. “Rei, Rei!” Rei felt someone holding him tightly before he heard whoever it was calling out his name. It took him a few moments to realize that it was Naoya. He slowly opened his eyes and smiled up at Naoya. “Naoya,” he said with his hand reaching up to cup Naoya’s face. “You idiot! I thought I told you to stay put!” Naoya yelled at the boy in his arms. “I am not very good at obeying orders if you haven't noticed,” Rei joked. “You’re not in any position to crack a joke. You’re hurt very badly,” Naoya couldn’t help but scold Rei. Rei touched his throat and sighed, “Man, my parents are going to be furious.” “I am furious as well Rei. I thought for sure that you would die if I didn't heal you soon.” Rei looked into Naoya’s eyes. “Naoya, I can't die. Well not with this kind of injury anyway, it takes a special weapon to kill me.” “Naoya, you can save the lecture for later. He needs to be patched up by Grandfather.” Naoya nodded his head in agreement. “Oh yeah, don't be surprised if you see Naru and his mate,” Hiro said as an afterthought after he summoned up the portal. “What?” Rei cried out. “If Naru is there, then my brother must be with him as well. I don't want to go Naoya, my brother will kill me!” “Your brother is the least of your concerns right now Rei. We are going and I don't want to hear any “buts” out of you,” Naoya said sternly. Without giving Rei time to argue, Naoya carried him into the portal. ------------------ “Your dad will be here soon Naru, so make yourself at home with Ryuu,” Faith said as he entered his home. “Falon, Naru is here,” he called into the house. “Who's Falon?” Naru asked his great granddad as Ryuu bent down to help him take his shoes off. “Your great grandfather,” Faith replied just as a man who looked like he was in his mid forties with a streak of silver mixed in with his black hair and tan skin came to greet them. The man had the lightest brown eyes Naru had ever seen. “Is this really the same Naru who liked to put mud in my shoes?” Falon teased his great grandson before giving him a hug. “Umm did I really do that? I don't remember.” Naru asked. “You were quite a mischievous child Naru. Whenever your grandfather Falon gave you a stern lecture, you would put mud in his shoes, not to mention that one time you gave your grandfather a mohawk hairstyle for spanking your bottom,” Faith told Naru with a soft chuckle. “How come I'm not surprised to hear this Naru?” Ryuu whispered. “Shut up Ryuu,” Naru hissed. “I thought Haruka was with you three?” Falon asked them. “He claimed that he wasn't feeling too well and left in a hurry,” Faith answered his husband. “I was kind of looking forward to seeing him again,” Falon said and he turned his eyes to Ryuu. “Your dad is the sweetest boy I have ever met Ryuu.” “Thank you," Ryuu replied. "I'm sure he'll be very happy to hear that,” he added. “Oh before I forget Naru, here,” Falon took Naru’s hand and placed a emerald ring in his palm. “Put it on Naru,” Falon urged. “Naru, why don't you get Ryuu to slip it on for you?” Faith suggested. Naru looked up at his boss and without saying a word, Ryuu took the ring from Naru’s palm and slipped it onto Naru’s ring finger. Right away Naru’s wings went away. Ryuu leaned down and whispered, “Naru, your wings are gone.” Naru reached behind him and was so overjoyed that his wings went away that he jumped up and down like a little kid. “Grandfather!” they all heard Hiro call out before the door slid open. They all stood in horror. Standing behind Hiro was Naoya and in his arms was Rei, covered in blood. "Hi guys,” Rei said with a nervous smile and he waved to his brother and Naru like everything was alright. “Get that boy inside this minute!” Falon yelled out. “Faith,” he said turning to his husband. “I know,” Faith said and he went to grab what was needed. “What happened to my brother?” Ryuu demanded from Naoya in rage. “He was attacked by my enemy,” Naoya replied with guilt and pain as he laid Rei down on the futon. Rei reached up with his bloody hand and cupped Naoya’s face with both his palms. “Naoya, it isn't your fault. I should have stayed put like you wanted me to, so stop looking so guilty.” Rei looked up at his brother, “Don't look like that Ryuu you and I both know that I'm not going to die.” “I know you’re not going to die you idiot, but I am your brother.” “Ryuu you’re not going to tell Father and Daddy are you?” Rei asked his brother. “You bet your ass I am Rei, so you better prepare your ears for a good lecture and a month of no freedom.” “Man, I knew it. That is why I was reluctant for them to bring me here.” “Stop your whining Rei!” Ryuu snapped at his brother. He walked away with Naru beside him. He stepped out of the traditional Japanese house and flipped his cell phone open. Haruka rinsed his mouth and wiped it clean with a paper towel before making his way to see his husband. He found Ray in his study like usual. “Ray,” he called to his husband as he entered the room. “Haruka, you’re back already. What about those two?” Ray asked his husband. “They went to see Falon. I came back first because I wasn't feeling so well,” Haruka answered. “Ray I need to ask you something?” he began. “Sure, what is it Haruka?” said Ray putting his book away. “When we had sex in the rest room on the plane, did you or did you not wear a condom?” “I don't remember,” said Ray honestly and he looked at his husband. “Haruka, why are you asking me this?” Before Haruka could answer, the phone on the desk rang. Ray picked it up seeing that it was his son. “What do you want Ryuu?” he answered. “You and Dad should get to Naru’s great grandparent’s house as soon as possible. Rei is here and he is not looking too good.” “We'll be there right away.” Ray hung up and looked at his husband. “Rei is in trouble.” “What? Oh no, not my cute little boy!” Haruka exclaimed. 'He is at Naru’s great grandparents’ house,” Ray said as he gathered up his power and summoned up a portal to take them there quickly. Haruka hoped to God that his son was alright as they went through the portal.---------------- “There you go boy, your throat will be as good as new by tomorrow morning,” Faith said to the young man who sat quietly holding Naoya’s hand while he fixed him up. “Thank you,” Rei said softly. “Naoya, since you’re here, you should go and pay your respects to your parents,” Faith said before he got up and left. “Naoya,” Rei uttered, looking up at Naoya. “You shouldn't talk Rei, your throat isn't healed yet.” Naoya scolded the boy. The door slid open, more like was yanked open by a very angry Ray who had just arrived with his husband Haruka. He marched inside and stared down at his son laying on the futon. “You young man are grounded for the rest of your life! Do you hear me?” Ray practically shouted at his son. Haruka rushed past Ray and went to his son. He flung his arms around him. “Rei, I was so scared when your father said that you were in trouble. I thought that I had lost you!” Haruka cried out as he hugged his son tight. “Dad, I’m fine, but if you don't stop hugging me so tight I won't be.” Haruka pulled away from his son, and flicked him on the forehead. “You really are a troublesome child.” “But you love me anyway Dad,” said Ray with a wide puppy smile. “Troublesome or not, you are still my child. Of course I still love you idiot, the same goes for your father,” Haruka said. Then he turned his attention to Naoya. “I'm sorry, it was my fault that he got hurt,” Naoya apologized to Haruka and Ray. “Don't blame Naoya, it was I who disobeyed him, he told me to stay put in the hotel, but when he didn't return I—-” “You decided to head out and look for him yourself?” Haruka finished for his son. Rei hung his head low and uttered an apology once more to both his parents and Naoya. “I still hold myself responsible for what happened to your son,” Naoya told Rei’s parents. “You aren't responsible for his condition Naoya, I believe that is your name right?” said Ray. Naoya nodded his head. When the boy’s parents came in, he was surprised to see that the boy’s parents were younger than he expected, and that they were both quite the lookers. Now he knew where the boy got his good looks from. It runs in the family, Naoya thought. He was pulled out of his thoughts when Ray started talking. He quickly gave the man his full attention. “You see Naoya, my son Rei has a problem which my husband Haruka and I like to call the disobeying problem. When he was twelve, he disobeyed us and went swimming in the ocean all alone. He got a chunk of his thigh ripped out of him by a shark.” “Oh God! Not that story again,” Rei thought. He wanted to just hide in the covers how could his father embarrass him like this? “Go away already!” Rei voiced to himself. “Dad make Father stop!” Rei whined to his dad who just smiled at him. “Now why should I--” Haruka’s hand went to his mouth, he felt it coming. “Excuse me,” Haruka told everyone before he rushed outside and right past Ryuu. He stopped in front of a bush and threw up “This is hell. Oh God, here it comes again!” Haruka heard. He glanced up and saw that it was Naru he had heard and that Naru was throwing up as well. Naru looked up and was surprised to find Ryuu’s dad across from him. The two of them looked at each other and then vomited again. They both complained as they threw up. “What is this?” Faith said when he saw the two. “Not feeling good," Naru said and he threw up again. “Same here,” said Haruka. “It must be morning sickness,” Faith commented. He went inside and grabbed two towels. He wet them and brought them out for Naru and Haruka. Naru and Haruka accepted the towels and used them to wipe their faces. “I could sure use some ice cream right now,” Haruka commented. “I want a candy apple with lots of nuts around it,” Naru announced. Both Haruka and Naru looked at each other. They both grinned. “How about it Naru?” Naru nodded his head. He went to find Ryuu, and Haruka returned to his husband’s side. As it happened, Ryuu and Ray were together and they were discussing what to do with Rei when Naru and Haruka returned. “Ryuu, I want a candy apple with lots of nuts around it,” Naru told Ryuu right away. “Where do you expect me to get it?” Ryuu asked Naru. “I don't care Ryuu, I want one right now,” Naru said firmly. Ryuu sighed, and then he heard his dad demand that his father get him a big bowl of strawberry sundae with lots of marshmallows and syrup. “You hear me Ray, I want it. I don't give a damn what you have to do to get it, just get me one, no two,” Haruka demanded from his husband. Ray’s eyes grew five times bigger. The only time Haruka would demand anything from him ws when he was carrying. “Haruka, you’re not---?” “Yes Ray,” Haruka replied before his husband finished. “Didn't you find it strange that I kept on munching on sweets more than usual?” “Father, you don't look too good,” Ryuu said when he saw how pale his father looked. “Naru, how about we be pregnant buddies?” Haruka turned to Naru and suggested. Naru agreed right away. He was filled with joy that he had someone who was also going through the same thing as he was right now. When he heard, Ryuu’s eyes were as big as his father’s. After he recovered from his shock, he turned to his father. “So Father, did your condom break?” he mocked his father. Ray had no comeback. Ryuu laughed and turned to Naru. “There is an amusement park close by, if we go there we might find some candy apples.” “Then what are we waiting for Ryuu?” Naru dragged Ryuu by the elbow. They both waved their goodbyes to Faith as they left for the amusement park. “Ray, I told you we shouldn't have done it on the plane,” Haruka remarked with a wide smile. “And since I am carrying as well, my brother will have to stay a bit longer than we planned.” “Oh God!” Ray uttered before Haruka grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him to the amusement park as well. ------------ "Achoo!" “Are you alright?” Itsuki glared at the man sitting next to him. “I'm fine, it was just a sneeze Ken,” he snapped at his husband. “If you say so,” Ken sighed and turned his head back to face the small window. He once more watched the cloud. He hoped they land soon, and when they did, he would make sure to give Itsuki a good spanking for using that tone of voice with him. Itsuki opened a book and read it silently, ignoring his husband completely. He would have been happier if his husband had not tagged along, but no, his arrogant husband had ignored his protests and insisted that he come along as well. Itsuki knew very well why his husband wanted to come along. After so many years together already, the man was still afraid that he would escape from him if he was given the chance to. His husband’s voice brought him out of his thoughts. “Itsuki, do you love me?” Itsuki had lost count of how many times Ken asked him that and his answer was always the same as well. “Tomorrow I'll love you,” Ken turned to face his husband. “Even after all these years together, you still won't tell me you love me Itsuki.” “What do you expect Ken? You kidnapped me, you raped me and prevented me from attending my own mother’s funeral. Let’s not forget that if it wasn't for you kidnapping me, I would have been there to protect my mother, and my brother’s husband wouldn't have looked at me like I was lower than the ground I walk on.” He ranted then shoved his face back in the book, ignoring his husband once more. Every time he thought about his mother, he would get mad beyond words at Ken. He blamed Ken for everything that went wrong in his life. He blamed Ken that his brother’s husband hated him so much. Itsuki was blamed for things that were beyond his control, and the damn man responsible didn't even get any blame placed on him besides Hiro’s fist in his face for what he had done to him. If it wasn't for Hiro, who knew how long Ken would have kept him down in his cold dungeon chained to the damn wall. The only good thing that came from Ken forcing himself on him many years ago was his son Christopher. ------------------------------------ “Hiro, you look tired.” Hiro gave his granddad a smile and handed him the dishes. "Just a little, I should go to bed soon," said Hiro. Faith just nodded his head and carried the dishes to the table. "So I heard that Haruka’s brother is going to be Naru’s doctor." "Yes, he is a doctor who specializes--" “I know,” Faith cut Hiro off. “What I want to know Hiro is are you really okay with him? After all, Kenneth did pick him over you.” Hiro let out a loud laugh. “Just call him Ken for short Granddad, and to answer your question, I am fine, really fine with it. I never loved Ken and he never loved me. We were more like sex buddies if I must say so myself.” “I'm glad,” Faith told Hiro. “To be honest with you, I kind of knew that it wouldn't work out between the two of you when you first introduced him to me and your grandfather.” “Really?” said Hiro. “Yes,” replied Faith. “When you and Ken were together, the two of you were missing the vibes that every lovey dovey couple has when they are in love. Just take your son Naru and his mate Ryuu, you can tell from a mile away that those two are in love." “True,' Hiro agreed. “I'm hungry,” Naru announced as he entered his great grandparent’s home with Ryuu. “You’re back Naru, Ryuu,” Hiro said coming out of the kitchen to greet the two. He laughed when he saw his son eating a big candy apple. He glanced down at Ryuu’s hand to see he was holding a small plastic bag filled with nothing but candy apples. “How many are in there?” he asked Ryuu. “Don't know. Naru just shoved them all into the bag,” came Ryuu’s reply. “Seriously, does a pregnant person eat this much?” Ryuu asked Hiro. “He ate about five of those damn candy apples and two bowls of ramen and two bowl of katsudon before we finally made it back here.” “Naru, did you really eat that much?” Hiro asked his son with concern. “Yes,” Naru replied and glared at his boss for complaining about his eating. “I can't help it Dad, I'm hungry. No matter how much I eat, my stomach is still not satis--” Naru stopped and smelled the air. Blood. why was the smell of blood making him hungrier? He followed his nose into the kitchen and there, sitting in a plate, was a nice juicy raw steak. Hiro followed his son’s line of sight and when his son started licking his lips and walking slowly towards the steak, he reacted right away. He ran to it before Naru could snatch it off the counter. “Daddy I want it!” Naru pleaded with his dad as he tried to snatch the plate of raw steak from his dad. “No Naru.” "Ryuu, take Naru upstairs and let him feed off of you,” Ryuu heard his father yell from behind him. “What?” Ryuu said out loud as he grabbed Naru and pulled him away from Hiro. Before Ryuu could do as his father ordered of him, Naru bit his wrist and drank from him. Ryuu watched in awe as Naru fed off of him. He almost laughed when Naru burped before letting go of his arm. “I'm full,' Naru announced and wiped his mouth. He smiled up at Ryuu. “Ryuu, I trust you have an explanation for why I had just drank your blood and why your blood tasted very familiar to me.” Naru smiled, and his smile was telling Ryuu to explain to him now or there was going to be hell to pay. “Why don't we head upstairs to the room your granddad prepared for us Naru and then we'll talk?” Ryuu said. He took Naru’s arm and led him past his parents and up the stairs. “Why did Naru crave blood?” Hiro asked Ray and Haruka. “When I was pregnant with Ryuu I craved blood as well, and we both didn't know why until much later on,” Haruka said. He took a deep breath and broke the news. “Naru is carrying the next prince of Tedra.”
