25 victory?
“I win again! Hahahahaha! People are so STUPID!”
Jacs heard the OverLord crow his victory. Indeed, people were stupid, ALL of them. And what had she become …..
She ate and drank as normal, but found she did not really need it. It was a comfort, that was all. She knew she would grow no older. Overlord, Ash, had told her as he had gathered her in his arms and smothered her with kisses when she finally woke. To live FOREVER? Well, near enough. His people - and she was now one with him - lived for thousands of years. And the thought now of sharing the supreme pleasures for all time was near enough to arouse her without the act!
He had shouted and laughed and nearly screamed as they had felt the earth shake beneath them. He had needed to choke back the laughter as he told her. She could not believe the others were gone, ALL of them, gone…..
Then Lacey had returned, alone, riding the magnificent Thunderbird over the fleeing clouds.
“Welcome, Lacey! I am GLAD you survived! And I am TRULY sorry I could give you no hint. The whole plan would have been worthless.”
“Is it still not worthless, Overlord? You have rule over far fewer peoples than before. And many of the lands are barren.”
“Ah, but they are no THREAT. Peoples will still be born and die as they ever have, they will reclaim lands again. I shall be satisfied to watch this time. I would live the next millennia in PEACE. I already have my comfort - my Jacs will live through it with me. I am content.”
He looked sidelong at Jacs, she was still coming to terms with what she was. “I can now cure the big regret, Jacs, if you so wish. I can return Harri’s manhood so he can become master of Hadstown in his own right.”
“You can? You would do this for me? How?”
“I would do this for you. By unfortunately taking another’s essence of manhood and passing it on. Lacey has the means of transport necessary.”
“I would help your brother, Jacs, if I can. What needs to be done, Lord?”
“A thief and a servant who thought to betray me await in custody. They deserve their fate. Call the Magii, both of you, they need to assist.”
He looked at Lacey and smiled. “As Jacs is mine, and you would help her after your own loss, I shall arrange that you suffer no more. Would you go with the Magii to the Unknown Land, Lacey? I know not if you could undertake the transformation that Jacs has, but if it were possible the Magii would find the way. In any case, you would enjoy a land of magical men with no other women - other than what you birthed to them. Think of it - a new land with a new people - and you could become the founding mother.”
“That would be a good life, Lacey. I would wish you well, whatever you decide.” Jacs meant every word.
“I would also wish you well, Jacs. You have a better life awaiting you. Children? I have never thought of it. But the idea has some appeal. Yes, I think I shall join the Magii in this wonderful unknown place.”
She grinned. “And I have Blackwing. It would please me to return occasionally and feast with you!”
Overlord bowed and pulled Jacs to him in a one armed embrace. “We also would be pleased to see you again Lacey. Never forget that.”.
