19. Forgiveness
The observation has come up that people think that Sex has forgiven Claudius for the fiasco at the end of book 3. Why you think that? Yes, Sex had a dark room encounter in Hades’ pleasure palace with Claudius. Why did he give in to it? Sex was lonely. Lonely and desperate. Surely you yourself have done something just out of the want of the moment. He took Claudius as his connection back into the real world. He was still in lonely and desperate mode when he went to the Penthouse.
Now, “Cruelty” came out of left field and smacked me in the head. I’m still reeling from it. Sex just killed me. I was actually blinking tears of out of my eyes when he started to tear apart the Penthouse. I knew that Sex and Claudius were not “good” but the fact that Sex was ready to ‘settle’ for whatever Claudius could offer was a little bit sad. After deciding to settle the flat out rejection was cruel.
Sex waited for twenty minutes for Claudius to come back. I think that is a huge honking chunk of time, for Sex anyways. When he finally went ballistic, I think he deserved to meet out the destruction.
I don’t know where it’s going…I’m only about 3 pages into the next chappie and it’s gotten darker and I feel like I’m at a family picnic where everyone has gotten plastered and it’s a free-for-all. Where the story is right now, I am not only way off the mark of getting to point “z”, I’m out of the fricken’ universe.
Oh Claudius…you and your magnificent ass. What am I going to do with you?
