Embla
Chapter 23
The males answered her in choir, ”Off course my Lady, this way if you please.” She then had them walk in front of her, guiding us. ”Who are you?”, I asked. She slowed her pace and I caught up with her, then she smiled again. ”I’m Embla. This is my first time here in the underworld, so I’ve never been to this castle before either.” ”I’m sorry if this is a rude question, but how come your skin is so much more tanned then the others?” ”I’ve been a vampire for only… two weeks I think.. And I’m loving every second of it. Look what I can do!” She grinned and shouted, ”Kato! Take of your shirt! And then come here!” One of the vampires stared unbuttoning his shirt at once, flashing of his wonderful body. Embla smiled widely as he came closer to her. She stared at his chest like a child would stare at a candy. ”Oh, it’s great, vampires have this perfection over them… You wouldn’t believe the fun..” I just stared at her and him. He seemed so far away, she must have cast some spell over him, for he was lost in her and appeared to bid her every command. ”Are you his sire?” Embla was playing a little with Kato’s body, ”No… Why share the power with anyone else?” ”But.. Only two weeks.. How can you..” ”It’s a secret ^^ But, ah, this is taking to long, I need to get to the cellar faster and get this over with.”
”Andreas, aren’t there any other way than physically WALKING there?” ”We can fly?” ”Great, are there any fast ways of getting there?” Kato spoke this time, ”My Lady, there are tunnels going down, we COULD fly down them instead of walking the stairs.” ”Okay! Let’s do that!” The vampires changed direction, entered a room, walked through another room, opened another door, turned some corners, passed some other vampires staring at us, and then stopped in front of door. ”In there?” They nodded. ”Hmm… Kato, can you carry me? I haven’t controlled the ability to fly yet…” ”Certainly, it would be my pleasure!” Kato lifted Embla up in his arms, she seemed so little, like a small child. ”How old are you?”, I asked her. ”I just turned 16 before I got sired. It’s the best age right?” She winked at me then shouted, ”Lucas, carry her with you! We’re going down!” Lucas came over to me and before I had a chance to react he had already lifted me up and carried me out through the door after Embla and Kato. Andreas followed after us and shut the door. Then the horrible feeling of falling came.
We dropped straight down, I heard Embla screaming of excitement and I bit my lips trying not to scream myself.
Lucas slowed down, or should I say; activated his ability to levitate. The tickly feeling stopped and the adrenalin rush caught up with me. My eyes were wild and I felt need to both sit down and jump up and down. Embla was dancing around in Kato’s arms laughing. ”That was great! I need to learn how to fly soon…” He was smiling back. Andreas came down and went over to Embla who embraced him as well. She danced around them, with a flirtatious smile on her lips. ”Hurry up, Helle, I want to get this over with.” ”Get what over with?” ”The demons and stuff…” ”My Lady, there are humans here to, are you hungry?” ”You mean I can just go pick whoever I want?” Lucas had dropped me down and said, ”We have stored together a few we think will be of your liking… They should not be to far away.”
Embla stopped dancing and signaled for me to come over, ”What do you think? Eat first, then deal with the demons, or maybe..” ”Why don’t you just do whatever you need to get done with the demons ’and stuff’, and then grab one human with you to your room and eat there.” ”You are such a practical thinker, Helle.. I think I’ll do that..” I shrugged with the idea of ’eating’ a human, but I guess I just had to get used to being seen as food. Embla then suddenly put her hands around my neck and leaned in closer, ”Do you think Vaan will get upset if I taste his pet?” ”Yes, he will be very mad at you!”, I answered. ”Good…”, she said, then drew her teeth through my skin.
I froze with shock, the feeling of her draining me for blood was indescribable. ”Embla, don’t overdo it, he would make trouble for us if you were to kill her.” She withdrew from my neck and licked her lips. ”Kato, this made me hungry… Let’s go find something I can eat more of..” My knees couldn’t hold me up, so I fell down with a gasp. I heard Embla say with an annoyed voice, ”Damn, it’s not like I took THAT much out of her… Why do they always have to exaggerate?” Then I felt someone lift me up as I blacked out.
