Chapter 23
Staying still for a couple of seconds, the Arabian gave a smirk. "To think he went through those bad traits, and didn't mention your forgetfulness... I don't think Stoyan knows you very well." As soon as Cade finally had a loose end to work from, his hands were violently torn away, not without a bit of pain. Less than a second later, one of them was released as Zarek twisted him around, pulling Cade's back against his chest. "You intended to get on your knees? Sounds good to me..."
"I kinda thought we'd get in the bedroom first." With a nonchalant shrug, he yanked his arm away and rubbed the wrist. He had waited long enough for the sake of amusement and figured it was due time for the real stuff. He turned and lowered to his knees, quickly pressing his lips to the man's lower abdomen as his hands went back to the knot.
After a little sigh was heard, the body in front of him straightened itself up. He was allowed the freedom to work on the untying, which was unnecessarily complicated by the ridiculously big knot. Suddenly, loud laughter rang out from above his head. "You know, your hair looks great from up here..." It didn't take long until he felt fingers slide into the strands.
A minute or two later, he had finally loosened the complicated knot enough to hook a finger in there and pull it apart. With a glance up at Zarek, he tugged the pants down. Finally, all that stood in his way was black boxers with scattered lightning bolts, so he slowely pulled at them to reveal that much-desired body. Just letting his eyes wander over that exposed flesh thrilled him in ways few people could.
As he placed a teasing kiss on the hilt, he quietly inquired, "You mean to tell me that I'm not as perfect as I thought? What faults did he say I have?"
For some reason that visibly amused Zarek. The other man gave a brief sound of pondering, before answering, "Well, for one thing he said you were clingy. I don't get why he thinks that's a bad thing, though." He stepped out of the pants and moved two feet towards the entry code panel. "Today's good deed. This time I'm naked first. Glad to see how happy that makes you." With that, his hands moved towards Cade's pants again.
Cade almost laughed. Not quite. As he got to his feet once again, he eyed the Arabian with curiosity. Had Stoyan really said that? No one had ever called him clingy before. He had been called 'detached' a lot by women, but what did they expect with one-night stands? But maybe there was some truth to it... His hand lifted to touch the pendant briefly as he recalled how hard it had been to lose Spence. "And if I was 'clingy' with you, it still wouldn't be a bad thing?" He moved closer to Zarek, inhaling slowly as his eyes, once again, began to wander over the man's body.
With the belt and the buttons dealt with, the Arabian tugged momentarily at the remaining garment before draping his arms around Cade's neck. "Hmmm," he said, before their tongues met in a quick kiss. "I can see more than one way in which that'd be a good thing." He let go soon after, glancing hungrily down his companion's half-naked legs as he moved over next to the bedroom door.
"... You're a weird guy." Whatever that innuendo meant, he didn't get it. Rather than trying to understand, he stepped out of the pants and moved around Zarek. He got a good long look at the backside before leaning in and wrapping his arms around the guy's waist. "This time I'm on top."
Zarek sighed before rapidly punching in the code on the panel. As it beeped with confirmation, the door opened, and he turned around in the embrace. His hands slipped down onto Cade's backside as he smirked lightly. "No, you're not. I'm not in the mood for you riding me tonight. I'm sure we can do that some other time, though."
Being upfront about it was supposed to work. He glanced past the guy and into the room to watch for any unusual movement - more out of habit than anything. Not that anyone would have been able to break into that fortress of a room. His yellow eyes focused on Zarek again as he pulled off the pendant and tossed it over to his pants. "You say that as if you call the shots."
It only took a few moments before the Arabian had scooped him up into his arms, giving him a paralyzing kiss while walking into the room. As their lips parted, he whispered intently while his dark, amused eyes pierced deeply into his. "Oh but I do. If you had a problem with that, you wouldn't have come back for more, my little zebra."

It was time.
Marcelo had finished the day's first batch of work, and finally had the time free to go look for Spence. Well, he was looking for Zarek and that stupid human, but all he wanted was Spence and the pendant. His mind had been wandering onto forbidden magic the last few hours, wondering if maybe the tricks of the dark side could give the other man a body... a fuckable one, of course. But he had kept his nose clean for his hundreds of years of existence, and didn't know what was possible, much less how to pull something like that off.
As he drove through the crazy man's turf - everyone knew that Mr. Ajdari was not particularly on the sane side - he kept looking around. Not that it mattered which of the minions saw him, but he liked knowing what he'd most likely be up against if something went wrong. Knowledge was power.
When he parked the car, he still hadn't seen anyone. He had even scanned for vampiric auras in the vicinity, but there was nothing so far and only two blocks to go. Was the guy really that sloppy, or did they manage to hide somehow? The ritualist wasn't sure, but he shrugged it off. Getting out of the car, he started down the sidewalk in a determined pace.
There was no sign of neither Zarek nor Cade near the door or windows. Even supernatural hearing didn't reveal anything. Were they not there? There was only one way to find out, but he couldn't do that out in the open. He needed somewhere to hide first. Retrieving a small set of lockpicks from his pocket, he gazed from door to door nearby. Needed to find one without any trace of recent vampirism. Last thing he needed was to break in and hide somewhere Zarek's minions would be.
Marcelo finally found a suitable door, and less than a minute later, he had crouched down behind a counter filled with bread, cakes and pastries. A pleasant, sweet smell filled the room, but he'd rather have done without it; distractions were not appreciated given what he was about to do.
Silently, he started his ritual. It was dangerous, but not in the way one would think. There was no pain, no risk of injury and it was easy for a trained ritualist. Soon his mind was floating through the air, and he started orienting himself to figure out where Zarek's place would be. The danger? Getting back. Several things - however unlikely - could go wrong, and without his mind in there, his body was simple to dispose of for anyone, even a mere mortal. Time was of the essence.
Passing through walls and floors in the direction he believed was right, he kept trying to figure out whether he was on the right track. It was harder to say, since his hearing and vision was only a weak magical substitute for the real thing - much less capable than a human's, not to mention what he himself could pull off with a pair of eyes and ears. He finally realised he was outside, over the building, and gazed down over the street to figure out where to go. It was far easier from here than from inside to pick the right house.
When he was confident he had pinpointed the right house, he drifted in that direction until he was right over it. Letting himself fall downwards and inside, he found himself in a living-room almost devoid of electronics. Probably the right place, he concluded, but there were noone present. No sound either. Calmly, he started going from room to room until he finally got to one where there was no silence at all.
Zarek and Cade were naked, and it was obvious what they were about to do. Spence wasn't going to like it at all, but Marcelo knew the guy already knew this was happening, and would likely keep asking him to punish the Arabian for it. Well, perhaps Spence didn't know yet, and there was certainly no need for the ritualist to tell him.
Then Marcelo remembered what he was there for, having forgotten about it for a few seconds. The pendant. It was nowhere in sight. However, the men's clothes weren't either, so he passed quickly through the only door there was. On the hallway floor, it was, and if Marcelo had a mouth, he would have smiled to it. So close...
Now that he knew what he had to know, Marcelo quickly set course for his body; no reason to waste a second more than necessary. A plan was already forming in his mind... soon, that pendant would be his.

riddlestar: We haven't forgotten about it, no :) We'll resume updating at a better pace at some point, but as it stands, all we can fit in between other fics and other activities are some short chapters now and then. There's many plans ahead, so definitely, the fic will be completed... sometime :)
