The Rise of Tempers
Welcome back Twisted Rose, good to see you again!
Chapter 23 – The Rise of Tempers
“I never lead you to believe anything else,” snapped Sora as Harmony followed him through the halls of the school. “I told you I had no feelings for you.”
“Sora stop!” she nearly screamed, causing many heads to turn her way and watch her cautiously. Most students kept moving, but some seemed intent on seeing what the fight would be about. “It’s the lie you told me that has me mad, not that you have no feelings for me. You always told me it was because I was so young, and you believe sex should be between two consenting adults. Rhapsody is hardly an adult.” In many ways she wished Rhapsody went to the school so she could not only humiliate the girl who seemed to have everything, including the heart of every man, but Sora for wanting a girl who had only just turned fourteen.
“I do not want to talk about this now,” Sora said, turning on Harmony and coming toe to toe with her. “This is not a topic for conversation here.”
“Well, I’m grounded,” Harmony snapped at him, “so I can’t talk about it when it is convenient for you. You will answer me now because this is when it is convenient for me.”
“There is nothing left to discuss,” Sora snapped at her. “I graduate in June, and from there I will be going off to the army, or the marines, or the navy, or anywhere to get away from you and your fucked up family. Harmony, you are not eighteen, and from there, you are not my type. You are too busy brooding over Ashe to see what is in front of you.”
“I know the truth, Sora,” Harmony sneered. “I’ve known it for quite some time. You think I don’t have ears.”
“Whatever, if you knew the truth you wouldn’t be such a bitch,” Sora sneered. “Now, if you will excuse me, I have to get to class.”
“What happened between you and Shu?” Harmony cried after him. “You used to be friends, what made you stop?”
Sora turned, but only for a moment. “If you don’t watch it, Harmony, someone may mistake that as a sincere question.”
Harmony sighed, watching his back move away. Maybe her parents had been right. She needed to find a new important thing, because Sora wasn’t it, and Ashe was gone, but… sometimes it was hard to find something important when everything, even a friendship that had lasted nearly sixteen years, was so fragile.

BLISS: Rhapsody??
SHU: I’m sorry.
BLISS: Why didn’t you just tell me sooner instead of making me feel like a fool by falling in love with you?
SHU: It’s complicated. I can’t just hit on a 13 year old girl. 14. Plus, she doesn’t need a guy in her life right now. Though she needs a bodyguard.
BLISS: So you were using me in hopes of feeling different for Rhapsody?
SHU: Yes.
Bliss slammed her cell phone closed so loud the library all turned to look in her direction. She flushed and quickly hid it in her back pack before the teacher stood up to investigate. This was disgusting. Bliss loved Rhapsody like a little sister, in fact she thought everyone in her family and the other family did. Turns out some were harboring more feelings for her. How could one girl cause so much trouble?
“You look to be having a bad day,” the whisper came in her ear. “Would you like me to help make it worse?”
For once Bliss did not allow Link’s constant torments bring her further down. She whirled in her seat and turned to him, looking at him up and down before narrowing her eyes. “You have a car, right?”
So thrown off, was he, by her suddenness that he could only answer, “Yes,” his usual coy attitude and harsh words lost somewhere in translation.
Bliss stuck out her hands and looked up at him with the kindest smile ever. “Let me borrow it.”
“What? No,” Link nearly screamed, causing many library-goers to shoot him the evil daggers of death from their eyes as they studied for whatever class they were dreading next.
“Yes,” Bliss hissed. “I need to go to Wisconsin.”
“Why?” Link asked harshly. “Are you going to run away there?”
“No, there is someone I need to see and speak to, and you are going to take me to them,” Bliss snapped. She stood up and grabbed Link by the arm, dragging him from the desks towards the open door.
“What are you doing?” he asked harshly.
“Link,” she turned on him, her eyes and face sincere as she brushed up against him. “If you won’t loan me the car then you have to take me. There is no other way, because I am going in your car, with or without you. Besides,” and she pushed closer up to him, hoping just a little of her sex appeal could work on her cousin, “if you take me it’ll be the first really bad thing you have ever done in your life. You don’t want to be known forever as the nerdy loser in the library, do you?”
Link, angered by how right her words were, and tempted by the offer to be with her alone, glared at her brutally before snapping, “Fine, let us go.”

“I can not believe you have lied to me all of this time,” Yuna cried after school to Waza, who looked nonchalant as she berated him in front of the entire chess club. “You said you loved me.”
“If I loved you would I have let you fuck four of my closest friends?” he asked with a laugh. “Yuna, I like you, I do. There is something in your need to be bad and yet your innocence that is appealing, but love? I am my father’s son, after all. Who will I ever love? Now either shut up and do what I asked of you, or leave and we don’t have to continue seeing each other.”
Yuna looked at him horrified, then sickened as she fell to her knees in front of him. Roughly he shoved her under the desk and placed her mouth to his lap while he and one of his teammates continued their chess game.
