Everything You Want
Chapter 23
Breaking Point
“Are you ready?”
Bella nodded and gripped the padding on the reclining chair she was lying on tightly. ‘As ready as I’ll ever be…’ she thought grimly as she buried her face in her folded arms.
The burly, blond man armed with the tattoo needle gazed down at the cowering girl doubtfully. “You sure you don’t wanna call someone to come sit with you while I do this?”
Bella shook her head fervidly. “No, I can do this by myself. I’m good,” she insisted, though her face remained hidden from his view.
The man shrugged. ‘Whatever, she already paid, so if she decides to jump up and run halfway through, it’s no skin off my back…’
With that thought, he positioned himself at her side and began to lower the needle…
oOoOoOoOoOo
Cole gazed at his reflection in the full length mirror with a disgusted grimace on his face. ‘Whoever thought neon orange was a good color for our graduation gowns needs to be shot. I look like a giant pumpkin.’
Sighing heavily, Cole whipped the ridiculous looking hat off his head and chucked it onto the bed. He didn’t know why the color of the gowns irritated him so much. For some reason, everything nowadays seemed to be pissing him off despite the fact that graduation was quickly approaching and the school’s seniors were all a buzz with excitement.
He had a feeling a lot of it had to do with the confrontation he’d had with Bella a few days ago. Since that afternoon in the library, Cole had found himself growing more and more irritated with the way she was constantly avoiding him. All he wanted was to be with her, and she seemed determined to deny him his wish at all costs.
Snatching his keys of his perpetually cluttered dresser top, Cole stomped out of his room and down the steps. About to yell out and let his parents know he was leaving, Cole stopped himself when he remembered that there were out of town ‘till Friday.
Slamming the front door behind him, Cole’s face broke out into a determined scowl as one thought chanted through his mind like a song.
‘Time to put a stop to this now…’
oOoOoOoOoOo
“Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow…” Bella whimpered as she gingerly tugged at the edges of the bandage covering her still slightly tender skin. It had been three days since she’d gotten the damn thing, and still had yet to see it. She was sick of waiting.
Peeling the tape of slowly, Bella beamed brightly at her reflection as the tattoo was revealed. It hadn’t taken her long to decide what she’d wanted done, because as soon as she had spotted the pink lily in one of the books the man had given her, she’d known it was perfect.
Located just above the waistband of her low rise jeans on the right side of her lower back, the lily peeked out at her as Bella giggled and twisted around to get a better look at it. She was so happy she’d gone through with her little act of rebellion, even though it’d hurt like a bitch.
‘So much worse than a shot,’ Bella winced as memories of the tattoo needle loomed in her mind. Catching sight of the sweet little flower once more, all thoughts of pain and anxiety fled from her mind and once again a smile played on her lips.
‘Pretty…’
So busy admiring her reflection, Bella failed to notice the incredulous emerald green orbs staring her down from the doorway of her room.
“Bella, what the hell is that on your back?”
Squeaking in surprise Bella spun around and covered the exposed skin with her hand. Backing away as Cole advanced on her; she gulped and raised a hand in front of her in an attempt to keep him away.
“How’d you get in here, Cole?”
“Your dad. Now what is on your back, Bella Marie? Is it what I think it is? Did you get a tattoo?”
Bella giggled nervously as Cole continued to stalk her around the room. “Don’t be silly. You know I hate needles! Why would I get a tattoo?”
Cole narrowed his eyes suspiciously as he successfully managed to back her into a corner. “Ok, then turn around so I can see for myself.”
Pressing herself against the wall, Bella shook her head.
“You little wench… You did get a tattoo! Are you crazy?! You can’t even get a freaking shot without someone holding your hand, how the hell did you get a tattoo?!”
Bella recoiled noticeably a little at his raised voice and Cole instantly softened his glare and muttered, “I’m sorry, Bell. I don’t mean to yell, but good God, what were you thinking?”
“I was thinking that I wanted to do something completely out of character, something no one would ever expect me to do. Something independent and rebellious. That’s what I was thinking and I don’t regret it at all,” Bella declared adamantly as her cheeks flushed with indignant color.
Cole chuckled and stepped closer to trace a teasing finger down her rigid jaw. Heat siphoned through his veins and desire darkened his eyes as Bella sighed breathily and leaned into his touch
Sucking in his breath, Cole fully cupped her cheek with his palm and leaned in to whisper, “Can I see?” into the shell of her ear. Muddled brain unable to form words due to his intoxicating proximity, Bella merely nodded and twisted slightly so her back was exposed to his heated gaze.
‘Perfect…’ he thought as his eyes took in the simple beauty of the delicate pink lily upon her skin. Unable to resist, Cole brushed gentle finger tips over the tattoo as he relished the shiver that raced through Bella’s body under his hands.
Giving into temptation, Cole braced himself with his palms cupping her bottom to lean down and drop a sensual, open mouthed kiss to the skin that his eyes were previously worshipping.
Control snapping at the sound of Bella’s needy whimper, Cole straightened up and brought her quivering form flush with his own. Hot breath rasping and husky against her neck, Bella moaned and leaned back into his chest as Cole’s hands trailed up and down her sides, reeking havoc with her already tattered senses.
“Bella…”
“Yes, Cole,” she whispered at his soft plea, “Please… I think I’m finally ready.”
Cole froze. “Are you sure?”
Turning around in his arms, Bella smiled and pressed a tender kiss to the tip of his nose. “I trust you, Cole. And now, because of the strength you helped me find, I trust myself.”
“I’m ready.”
Cole felt all the stress and anxiety built up from the frustration of the last few weeks melt away at her softly spoken words as he pulled her close and breathed in her soothing scent.
Jerking away suddenly, Cole crooked a finger under her chin and whispered, “Not here. Your dad…”
“I don’t care where we go, Cole, as long as you’re with me.”
The kiss they shared then was sweet and soft. Full of unspoken words of love and thanks, brimming with the promise of something beautiful waiting to be discovered in the depths of each other’s arms.
Their breaking point had been reached. All there was left to do now was take that last step…

So, I watched Ceres (Ayashi no Ceres) last night. That has got to be the SADDEST anime EVER! I’m STILL crying! lol Anyway, hope you liked the chapter. Sorry for the shortness. Oh, if anyone is curious, Bella’s tattoo looks like the lilies that were surrounding her in that picture I have of her.
