Yuki and Kago
Kago sat on the bed, trying to do his homework, while Yuki sat on the floor, finally passing level one of the latest fighting game. None of this seemed any different than before they had started dating. Kago was still hardly interested in the flat figure of the girl before him, and she still was too innocent to know exactly what to do with a boyfriend.
Kago thought back to the last time Yuki had been in his home. After she had gone Nakago, someone who was not so much a good friend as a common acquaintance, had paid him a visit. It had been Nakago who had opened Kago’s eyes to the world of the dark and lascivious. Nakago brought Kago along with him to clubs and to love hotels, but while Nakago was good and refused to touch those horrid women, Kago often lost all control, thinking only of Fuji and how much he wanted her. He would take those other women under his wing and just begin to damage them in a way that was irreparable.
It was why Nakago had thought Kago was perfect for the job. He had looked to the younger man as a sort of ally, and began explaining to him the situation. “I think it is Danko who has corrupted Kaori,” he had explained. “Kaori was fine until Danko admitted she was in love with her, then Kaori went over the deep end.”
Kago had believed him, believed this man who had taught him nothing but corruption and lies, and did to Danko what had been asked of him. Perhaps not by him, but a more decidedly vicious victory for the men.
Kago did this all only to receive a sobbing phone call from Yuki he had not stopped to answer. He heard her sobs on the cell phone later, the pleading and crying in her voice after Nakago had been taken away to jail. “Kago,” she had cried to his voicemail. “Kago, Nakago raped Kaori. They’ve been having a relationship this whole time, and I don’t know what to do.”
It was then it hit the young man’s lackluster brain. Nakago had used him by twisting more lies around him. Now Kago regretted a bit what he did, but not enough to apologize to Danko. Instead, he apologized to the sister of the woman who had caused this all with her lusts. Kago finally did the right thing and asked Yuki to be his girlfriend.
Watching her now, he was disgusted with himself. Yuki was flat and unentertaining. She was boring and too optimistic. Fuji was real, even with her newly shorn beautiful auburn hair, she was a real woman, one that Kago wanted to conquer.
The more time Kago spent with Yuki, the more he lusted for Fuji and the dark side of him that did dark things. His lascivious thoughts were of Fuji, her aquamarine eyes turned innocent once more by her sudden expulsion of a boyfriend and a real life. He could imagine taking her somewhere behind the school while she screamed, and he wanted it more than he could bare.
Kago may have regretted enough, but it was still not enough to satisfy a warm heart. Kago was turning cold.
Yuki turned to Kago and her smile faltered. “What’s wrong, Kago?” she asked of him, standing up and placing herself next to him on the bed.
“Nothing,” he said blandly, shrugging his shoulders. “I was just wondering why it took so long for me to notice your charms.”
Yuki was not entirely convinced. Something in Kago’s eyes was darker than his normal thoughts, and she tried her best not to pout. “Well, I knew you would not be able to resist my charms forever,” she told him excitedly. Kago gave her a small laugh and Yuki’s smile faded. “Hey Kago,” she started.
“Yes?” he asked, looking down at his book so he would not have to look into her eyes.
“What do you think of what I told you about Kaori and Nakago?” she asked softly.
Kago looked over at her, raising an eyebrow slowly. “I think it’s sick,” he told her honestly. “How does someone fuck his sister? And how do the two of them fall in love? And look what he tried to do to you.”
Yuki played with the skirt of her uniform, not bothering to have changed before going over to Kago’s house. “But love isn’t always simple,” she muttered. “Look at Fuji and Shai. Well, um, how about just Fuji. Fuji was dating an older man, and had to lie to get to that point, but they found love.”
“And now she’s single.” Kago tried his hardest to keep his voice bland when mentioning it, then decided to pinpoint a subject that wasn’t Fuji. “What is this about Shai?”
Yuki’s face looked crestfallen at having stepped into that muddy road. “Um,” she began, not really know what to say. She wiggled off of the bed and hurried to grab her books from the floor. “You know Kago, it is getting late, perhaps I should get home.”
Kago nodded, sliding off the bed as well to walk her to the door. Yuki gave him a wide smile and a quick kiss on the lips before she turned to go. Before she was off the porch she turned back to him, her books curled to her chest. “Kago?”
“Yes Yuki,” he was growing bored of her silly games.
“I don’t want a love like that,” she admitted, more for her own benefit than for his. “I want to just be happy.”
“I want you to be happy,” he lied thickly.
Yuki smiled widely, and then ran off down the sidewalk, leaving Kago to feel sick to his stomach. He rather wished that Nakago was still around. He wanted to go off to one of those hotels and find a girl who was easy and ready to take his abuse, but instead he went to his room and abused himself, thinking of Fuji, and only of Fuji.
