Chapter Twenty-One: Blame
--
An anxious smirk graced Verity’s lips. The sun was up, and she was again entering the prison block. She could not wait to see what Gil and Bo had done to the girl. She was expecting deep suffering and blood. Perhaps more? These very thoughts caused Verity to laugh cruelly on the inside.
“Thank you,” she said to the Cretchen guard as she made her way down the long hallway, and up to Gil and Bo’s single cell.
A nasty stench entered her nose. Verity wiped in front of her as she peered into the cell. “Phew, it smells vile in here.”
Verity looked in to find Gil and Bo sitting like King’s on their wood bench. No longer naked, the men had Amana on their laps. She appeared exhausted and out of it. It showed that she had been force-fucked all night. The floor was covered in her cum, and the entire cell reeked of it.
“Good God,” Verity gasped.
“Oh, you’re back,” grinned Gil. He shook Amana. “Get up, girl. Your ride’s here.”
Slowly, Amana lifted her head. She had not gotten a single wink of sleep. When she saw Verity, she trembled and forced herself off the two men. She fell to the floor, and crawled her way over to the cell bars, begging with her eyes to be let out.
“What in God’s name did you do to her, Gil?” Verity asked, showing that she was impressed.
“We fucked her up, just like Cain wanted,” answered Gil. He stood to his feet. Bo stayed seated, but he was upset that his and Gil’s single-night pet had to leave now. “But do ya really have to take her? Bo and I were just getting started.”
“Sorry,” Verity said. “But I have to get her back.” She took out the same copper key from the night before. She unlocked the cell and watched Amana helplessly crawl out of the cell. Closing and locking it, Verity grabbed Amana’s arm and forced her to her feet. “Get up!”
Amana whimpered. She could hardly stand. Hiding underneath her dress was her sore and sticky vagina. Even her nipples ached. Gil and Bo had fondled more with them as the night had processed.
“Damn, those two really did fuck you up,” Verity grinned. She pushed Amana forward. “Go!”
Everything was planned perfectly. Verity felt victorious. Now, Cain had to pay more attention to her. He had to see just how dangerous she was.
Nothing could go wrong.

Pig’s Thigh Inn was silent. The place was closed. Tonisha sat quietly in one of the many stools. She sat against the wall, leaning forward. Stressed and concerned, Tonisha had her hands resting on her forehead. Her hair was falling in her face. It was clear that she was exhausted. She had been up all night putting out a search for Amana. But so far, Amana’s not turned up, and Tonisha was lost and afraid. She was a bit thankful, for she had many helping hands. She had Leigh and Edie, of course, including all of the ladies that worked for her. If Roddy, Pip, Blythe, and Lavan had been there instead of hunting, she would had asked for their help, as well.
It was all Tonisha had. Forter‘s office force consisted of Cretchens. And the Cretchens did not specialize in searching for lost people. Tonisha could not ask for Cain’s assistance on this, she was sure. He never helped those below him.
Sighing, Tonisha rubbed at her temple agitatedly. She looked up, seeing Leigh looking down at her. Leigh held a cup in her hand. She handed it to Tonisha. “Here. Some warm tea.”
“Thanks,” Tonisha whispered. She reached out and took the cup. She sighed again before staring down at the bubbling, warm yellow liquid.
Pulling a stool next to her friend’s, Leigh helped herself to a seat. She placed her arm around to gently massage Tonisha’s back. Tonisha groaned a bit as Leigh smiled. “Maybe you should go try to get some sleep?”
Tonisha shook her head. “No. I couldn’t sleep.”
“Everyone’s looking hard,” Leigh said. “You can count on them.”
Hearing this made Tonisha smile. She looked up at Leigh. “I know they are, but -- I want to know that she’s safe.” She took a sip of the tea. She knew that Edie had made it. It tasted good going down her sore, tight throat. “Is Edie in the kitchen still?”
“Yes,” said Leigh. “She’ll be right up, though.”
Nodding, Tonisha eyed her tea. “Alright.”
Just then, the front door swung open. Tonisha and Leigh both looked up in horror as Verity walked through the door holding Amana in her arms. Verity grinned wildly at seeing them there. She was a bit glad that the place was closed. She threw Amana forward just as the real Edie came out of the backdoor.
“Here,” Verity shouted. “Here’s your precious Edie! You tell Cain that he and I need to have a word, if he decides to show his face here!”
Gasping, Tonisha dropped her tea and raced forward. “AMANA!”
Amana cried as she hugged Tonisha close. She tried getting words out, but nothing came out. She held Tonisha snug as Tonisha glared up at Verity’s vile face. “Verity, you -- what did you do to her?”
“I only gave her what she deserved,” Verity said.
Who was this woman? Edie stayed close to Leigh, watching with open ears.
“What -- she…?” Tonisha gaped. “W -- what did you do to her? What did you do to my Amana?”
Surprised, Verity took a step back. “Amana?” she stared down at the girl. “Stop fucking me with Tonisha! I know that that’s Edie!”
Edie covered her mouth in shock. How did this woman know her name?
“What,” Tonisha cried. “No, this isn’t Edie!”
“Shut up, Tonisha!” Verity snarled. “Your lies are sickening! I can now see that Cain’s got you in on this, too! I should have known.” She pointed down at Amana, not noticing the two ladies standing in the back. “This woman’s been sneaking around with Cain! With my Cain! My fiancée! And I wasn’t going to take anymore of it!”
Fiancée? Edie shook as she backed into the wall. She stared at this dark, wretched woman, stunned. She could hardly think, and she did not take in the fact that Amana had been mistaken for her, and had been abused. “F -- fiancée?”
“So what did I do?” Verity continued. “I took her! I took her from the back alley, and I took her, and I gave her to Gil and Bo! And they took care of her! That is my power! And I will make sure Cain sees this!”
Now, it was all clear. Tonisha stared down at Amana’s shivering body. She could feel her heart breaking. She held Amana even closer as tears drizzled out of her eyes.
“Fool,” Tonisha muttered. “You -- foolish woman.”
“Beg pardon?” Verity asked, grinning.
“You fool!” shouted Tonisha. Edie’s never seen her this angry before. “You foolish, selfish, crazy bitch! Get out of my inn! Get out! NOW!”
Growling, Verity stepped out. “If you see Cain, give him my best wishes.”
“Believe me, I will,” Tonisha declared. “Now, get out!”
The door slammed shut. Tonisha became still as she held Amana. Slowly, she helped Amana to her feet. “It’ll be okay…”
As Tonisha walked Amana over to Leigh and Edie, Edie could see Amana’s rattled, pale body. What had happened to Amana finally hit Edie. She gasped as she took a step back. Memories from her past flooded her mind. She saw that Amana was avoiding eye-contact.
“Leigh,” Tonisha spoke up softly. “Go get Doctor Tiller.”
“I’m on it,” Leigh said as she rushed out of the inn.
Frowning, Edie looked up at Tonisha. “I want to help.”
“No,” Amana whimpered. She stayed close to Tonisha while being led downstairs.
Sighing, Tonisha shook her head at Edie. “Just -- stay back. Okay, Edie?”
Once she was alone, Edie crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. She started to cry as she stared helplessly over at Amana’s closed bedroom door. She thought of what Amana must of gone through. She thought back to what had happened to her, and about Cain. She thought about this Verity claiming to be Cain’s fiancée. And she realized that -- if it had been her instead of Amana to take out the trash, she would had suffered instead.
“Why…?” Edie asked as she slid to the floor. She curled her knees to her chest as she rocked against the wall. Her tears flowed freely as she stared up at the ceiling. She knew Amana was hurting, but -- Edie currently cared for her own safety. She felt afraid. “Why?” Sniffing, Edie put her head in her arms as she quietly sobbed.
--
“It’s okay now,” Tonisha hummed to Amana. “You’re home now.” She looked up as the door opened.
In walked Leigh with a very handsome elderly man wearing spectacles. With graying hair and gray eyes, he had wrinkled peach skin, and some freckles. He had on a casual white shirt with some black pants and boots. In his hand, he was holding a large bag filled with medicines, regiments, and other things.
“Tiller,” Tonisha sighed as she got to her feet. “Thank you for coming on such short notice.”
“I wasn’t busy,” he said. He stepped up to Amana and looked down at her. “And when I heard that Amana was -- hurt, I hurried to pack right away. Do you know what happened?”
“She’s not talking,” Tonisha said. She wiped at some tears as she sat on the stool next to Amana’s bed.
“Well, that’s okay.” Tiller placed his bag on the floor. He looked down at Amana. “Amana, I need you to take your clothes off, okay?”
“N -- n,” Amana cried. She took Tonisha’s hand as she was comforted.
“Shh, it’s okay,” Tonisha whispered. “You know Doctor Tiller. He wants to help you, okay?”
Sniffling, Amana slowly nodded. She had the two help lower her clothes. Leigh took them to be washed. Now laying nude, Amana kept her eyes focused on Tonisha as the doctor spread her legs to take in the damage. Edie had peeked in slightly, making sure to keep herself hidden as she watched. She wished she could do something to help, but seeing that Tiller had it under control, Edie stayed back. She knew that Amana blamed her for what had happened, and Edie did not feel that this was bad. She knew Amana had every right to blame her.
“Alright,” Tiller whispered as he dug through his bag. He put on some gloves before gently examining Amana’s abused vagina. Tonisha held Amana’s hand gently, not wanting to let go as she waited for Tiller to finish. She looked down at Amana, and gave her a reassuring smile. She did not want Amana to see that she was scared.
Soon, Tiller had finished. He removed his gloves. “All done, Amana.” He got to his feet as Tonisha covered Amana with blankets.
Tonisha went over to Tiller as he finished. He ushered her into the hallway. She obediently followed, wanting to know every detail. “Well?”
Edie stood back, listening from around the corner.
“The damage wasn’t too bad,” Tiller said. “I found small traces of blood, which I’m positive was from her hymen breaking. There were traces of semen, however, both outside and inside.”
“Oh God,” Tonisha gasped. She covered her cheeks, shocked to think that her Amana, the one she saw as a daughter, was truly raped. “W -- what can we do?”
“For now, fix her a hot bath,” Tiller suggested. “Clean her off completely, and then get some fluids into her system. Looks like she hasn’t slept in hours, so make sure she gets plenty of sleep. If she cannot sleep on her own, give her a leaf of this herb in with some warm water.” He handed her the small bottle.
“That’s all?” Tonisha asked.
“I’m afraid so,” he nodded. He put his gloves back in his bag.
“S -- she was raped,” Tonisha said angrily. “She was raped! And all you can suggest is a hot bath and sleep? What about -- going after these men that did this to her!”
“Listen, Tonisha, I’m sorry,” Tiller said. “I truly am, but there is nothing more I can do! If she really was raped by Cretchens, then there’s nothing any of us can do. If you really want to -- try and do more, then you’re going to have to talk to Cain.”
Crossing her arms, Tonisha stomped her foot out of rage. “Fine. I will.”
Sighing, Tiller fixed his spectacles. “I’ll come back in a few weeks to check on her. If you see any changes at all, get me right away. What Amana needs right now is your comfort, Tonisha. Don’t leave her side. Be there for her, and keep her in mind that you love her.”
“I -- I will,” Tonisha whispered.
Nodding his head, Tiller waved farewell before taking his leave. “This one’s on the house.”
Frowning, Tonisha went back into Amana’s bedroom to get her ready for a bath. She did not notice that Edie had ran after Tiller. Edie followed the doctor up into the main room, catching him at the door. “Excuse me?”
Turning his head, Tiller eyed Edie. “Yes?”
“Um,” Edie sighed. “M -- my name is Edie, and -- well, I’m worried about Amana.”
“Oh, so you’re Edie,” Tiller said as he took off his spectacles. He blew on them before putting them back over his eyes.
“You know me?” Edie gaped.
“Amana mentioned you somewhat while I was examining her,” Tiller said. “I had tried asking her to speak about what had happened, but she merely mumbled your name.”
Edie felt even worse, now. She hugged herself as she stared up at Tiller. “Is she going to be okay?”
“Hopefully in time,” Tiller answered. “Her body is very sore and tired. She will heal up physically, though. I saw no signs of bleeding. She just needs love and support, for now.”
That was a bit of a relief, Edie knew. Still, what was occurring made her feel ill. That still could had been her. “She didn’t say anything else?”
“No, I’m afraid not,” Tiller said. “But give her time. Eventually, she will talk.”
“Y -- yeah…” Edie whispered. When Tiller had left, Edie felt ready to collapse. She turned, ready to go into her bedroom.
How could Amana talk? Edie had not even told anyone about her own rape. Of course, nobody knew of her own, besides the -- captain, of course. She, Tonisha, and Leigh knew of Amana’s, and -- well, Edie was only hoping that Amana would say something soon. Why? Because Edie needed to know. She was certain she was being unfair, but she wanted the truth. She wanted to know more about this Verity, now -- No, Cain’s fiancée. Such information caused Edie to feel puzzled. Her body had gone cold when Verity had shouted that to Tonisha.
But why was Edie thinking about that when she should be concerned for Amana?
Why was she being so -- selfish?
--
Leigh rubbed at her neck as she sadly looked around the inn. Fifteen minutes had passed. Tonisha was downstairs bathing Amana, and Edie was in her room. Leigh could not recall the last time she’s been alone in the inn. She sighed as she wiped at the counter, deciding that doing some cleaning would get her mind off things. She felt so bad for little Amana. She wanted bad things to happen to the monsters that had hurt that innocent girl.
When she heard the door opening, Leigh turned and said, “Sorry, we’re closed…” She paused and her eyes widened when she saw that it was Cain.
“I can see that,” Cain said as he closed the door. He looked about before walking up to Leigh. “I didn’t believe it, but now I can see that the man down the block had not been lying.”
“Cain,” gaped Leigh. “You -- um… Well… What are you doing here?”
Raising a brow, Cain chuckled. “Well, I decided I’d try to spend the day with Edie. I figured that, if you were closed, then she’d be available. Where is everyone?”
“Well,” Leigh drifted. “S -- something bad happened, Cain.”
Interested, Cain looked around some more, sensing that something wasn’t right. “Where’s Tonisha? Where’s Edie?”
“You -- should --” Leigh started, but at that moment, Tonisha came in.
“God,” she sighed. “Leigh, have you…?” she paused when she saw Leigh standing next to Cain. Suddenly, Tonisha’s anger returned. She waltzed straight up to Cain, glaring hard at him. “What are you doing here?”
“I -- tried,” Leigh stuttered.
Surprised, Cain straightened up. “I’ve come to see Edie, but Leigh told me something bad has happened. What‘s going on, Tonisha?”
“Like you don’t know,” Tonisha hissed.
“No, I don’t,” Cain said plainly. “Intrigue me?”
Knowing Cain was not responsible, Tonisha figured she’d talk. Though, her anger she’d keep risen. “Your insane fiancée is what happened!”
“What?” Cain said with shock. “Verity was here?”
“Yes, she was here!” Tonisha shouted. “She was here! She kidnapped Amana! My Amana! And you know why? Because she thought that Amana was Edie, that’s why!”
“Edie?” Cain gaped. “Where is she? Is she okay?”
“Oh yeah, she’s fine,” Tonisha sobbed. “Just -- fine. But Amana -- she was raped, Cain! And according to Verity, the deed was done by Gil and Bo! Verity wanted me to pass this message onto you. She thought Amana was Edie… She --” Tonisha broke down. Leigh hugged her gently.
The Captain was, indeed, flabbergasted. He kept calm as he listened well to Tonisha’s story. So, it would seem that Verity had not done as he demanded of her. She had tried stabbing at him by trying to hurt Edie, which Cain was thankful had backfired. Still, the thought of Edie being raped by Gil and Bo made Cain’s blood boil. He could feel his anger growing.
“She’s just a girl,” Tonisha sniffled. “Just a -- girl…”
“Where’s Edie?” Cain asked again.
Tonisha glared at Cain. “Are you going to -- do anything at all, Cain?”
“First, I want to speak with Edie,” he softly said.
“She’s in her room,” Leigh answered. “At the end of the hallway downstairs, turn right. Her room is the second door down.”
Nodding, Cain stepped around them as he left through the back. He could hear Tonisha sobbing even louder as he closed the backdoor behind him.
“Bastard,” Tonisha cried. “Isn’t he even going to do anything?”
“Don’t worry,” Leigh said. “I’m sure he will.”
Using a small handkerchief to blow her nose, Tonisha peered up at Leigh unsurely. “How do you know?”
“It’s -- a hunch,” Leigh smiled.
