Miles paced angrily about the hotel room.

The human lay sprawled out across the rumpled bed, heart beat slow and sluggish. He was unconscious just then. The bite mark on his neck was red and angry, as were the several other ones Miles had delivered to his chest and belly.

He hadn’t raped him – yet.

He’d overestimated Hunter’s stamina and regenerative powers, which was his own damn fault. Newer Thralls were never as good as older, more experienced ones. Still though, the human was delightfully responsive… And delicious.

Miles still had about five hours before the sun set, and he’d take the human anyways if he weren’t up and about by then. But he’d really rather he be conscious for the entire thing.

Almost as if he’d willed it to happen, the human groaned softly and began to stir. He flopped a tired arm across his face, body struggling to wake up despite its exhaustion. Miles sat down heavily on the bed, causing the springs to squeak.

“Wakey wakey, muffin.” Miles said cheerfully, giving the human a little shake. Hunter let his arm flop back on the bed next to his head and looked up at Miles. His pupils were huge, leaving only a sliver of honey-brown colour around the edges. The blood loss had turned him to a ghastly pale shade, but the open bites and the effects of the Vampire saliva made him look flushed and wanton, lips red from where he’d bitten them.

Miles licked his lips at the sight, deciding then and there that once Amon was dead he was keeping the human for himself. He wanted him, and besides, what better final slap in the face could he deliver to his Blood Brother but stealing his Thrall?

Miles unlocked the handcuff attached to Hunter’s wrist and tossed the length of linked cuffs aside. He scooped the human into his lap and sat him up right.

Hunter was, especially after this, coming to terms with the fact that he had a serious problem. When Vampire bites were involved, he couldn’t say no. It was one thing to put up a front and struggle and say no… But he didn’t really mean no. And when push came to shove…

When Miles pulled him upright, the world lurched. His high, so to speak, was wearing off in a bad way. And like any addict that had pushed it too far, gone too far, gone past their tolerance….

His stomach churned violently, and since Miles was leaning in to kiss the lips he’d been so admiring he received a mouth and face full of vomit as Hunter’s body rebelled against the all the conflicting sensations.

Miles coughed, shoving the human away from him as his own body reacted. He fell to his knees and hurled on the floor, drenching his lap in his own blood filled, liquid vomit.

Hunter weakly fell back on the bed, legs having over the edge as he coughed and wiped the back of his hand over his mouth. His head was pounding and the bed wouldn’t stay still beneath him.

Once he’d finished, Miles groaned and grabbed a box of Kleenix from the side table, freezing as the hotel room door was kicked in. He looked up sharply, trying to look tough with vomit and blood running from his nose and mouth.

A tall woman strode calmly strode into the room as though she owned the place. Her hair was thick, black and hung straight down to the middle of her back. Golden bangles and a gold hoop in her nostril contrasted sharply with her beautiful Indian colouring.

Miles gave her a quick once over, instantly noting the way she moved and sniffed at the room. He pegged her as some kind of were creature, but couldn’t smell enough over the vomit in the air to tell exactly what kind.

A tiny woman with short blond hair crept in after her, keeping to the edges of the suite. She watched him wearily as a third male shifter strode in.

He’d never seen them before. They weren’t on his side. He watched the rays of sunlight coming through the kicked in door and swore.

The Indian woman smirked down at him. “Into some weird shit, are we?” She asked, noting the vomit and blood everywhere.

“Kinky.” The male shifter grinned widely, dimples flashing. Miles stared at the male shifter, really looking at him for the first time. The cocky smile, the flashing dimples, the shaggy dark hair and brown eyes…

“You’re the fucking rogue.” Miles coughed out. “Auri.”

“Bingo.” Auri grinned. The female shifter growled as the male she considered to be her underling was acknowledged before she was. It was a deep, throaty, animal growl that Miles instantly associated with a big cat of some sort. He looked over the three shifters, noting the way they didn’t surround and move in to kill like pack animals did. They were there together, but each of them presented themselves as solitary beasts.

The Indian female prowled forward, hips moving sensually as her eyes stayed locked on the Vampire. “We’re here for him.” She nodded her head at Hunter, “You gonna Challenge me, fucker, or are you gonna do the smart thing and let me take him?” She stopped two feet from Miles, hands on her hips. She radiated confidence and sex.

Miles didn’t dare take his eyes away from the female’s. She wasn’t an Alpha – that was a strictly wolf pack title. But she certainly behaved like one, demonstrating the need to dominate everyone around her. If he took his eyes off her for an instant she’d go for his throat.

“Challenge me,” She purred softly, “I fucking dare you.”

Miles was fast, and he was strong. But he wasn’t going to be able to take three weres in this position.

“Take him.” He leaned back, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly as though he didn’t care either way.

Her hand shot out like lightning, so fast the bangles on her wrist didn’t even make a sound until she had Miles by the throat and slammed against the wall. She leaned close despite the vomit and smiled condescendingly, “Good boy.”

“I’m gonna get you back for this, bitch.” Miles hissed, baring his fangs.

“I’ll look forward to it, cunt.” She grinned, her face inches from his. She threw him roughly to the side, sending him tumbling to the floor. She snapped her fingers once, sharply while keeping her eyes on Miles’ prone form, “Get him, Auri.”

“Yes ma’am!” Auri grinned hugely, scooping Hunter into his arms. If the vomit bothered him, he gave no sign of it. Though the fact that Hunter had gotten most of it on Miles didn’t hurt.

“I don’ feel so good.” Hunter mumbled, slurring his words together.

Auri looked down at the human’s neck and chest, giving him a curious sniff, “Yeah, I’ll bet you don’t.”

The tiny blond woman walked out of the room as silently as she’d come in, and Auri followed behind.

The female smiled down at Miles, who was in the process of getting up.

“You wanna come and get me, baby? You bring it. You look for Anjali.” She purred, eyes flashing an intense feline green before she turned and strode out of the room.

“Bitch.” Miles grunted once she’d gone.
