Chapter 22 - Turncoat
Victor sat in his private quarters looking forward to what was ahead he smiled knowing soon the succubi would be gone along with their enemies the lycans. “How is the marshalling going?” asked Victor as his messenger entered the room.
"According to plan sir everything will be ready soon,"
"Good, no problems with the families?" asked Victor.
"Unfortunately, a few of them have refused to help with the lycan problem," said the messenger.
"Damn!" he growled "Well that is later then, could you please summon Councilor Omni,”
“Of course sir,” said the messenger, he bowed and left the room.
He was annoyed how could he get them to help with the threat this was not going to be easy.
“You wanted to see me sir?” asked Omni as he entered the room.
“Yes Michael, I have an assignment for you,” said Victor.
"Yes sir what is it?" he asked seeming to be eager.
“I want you to take your men to the succubus estate and find the best place to attack them,” said Victor.
"We will attack at dusk tomorrow then I must rally the troops," said Michael
“Good, dismissed,” said Victor.
“Yes sir,” said Michael

“Cassius, get your best men together we’re going to scout out weaknesses in the succubus estate before we strike tomorrow,” said Michael.
“Yes sir,” said Cassius.
“We met outside in one hour,” said Michael.
“Yes sir,” said Cassius.

“Angus, we’re going to be scouting the succubus’ lair for our attack tomorrow. Go find Derrick, we are to meet Michael outside in one hour,” said Cassius.
He nodded preparing with all the ancient tools they used a long time ago.
“Chris I need you and David ready and outside the chambers in one hour. We’re going to check the succubus for weaknesses before we strike at them tomorrow night,” said Cassius.
"Yes sir!" he said as he ran off to tell David.
“They are preparing now, I’ll meet with outside as soon as I get ready,” said Cassius as he reported to Michael
“Good we should be ready in no time they wont know what hit them,” grinned Michael.

“You take care sis, I want to see you back here in one piece,” said Hunter.
She nodded "Do not worry dear brother I have always lived on the edge," she chuckled.
“Ok, give them hell,” said Hunter turning to go back into the estate.
She smiled and whispered "I may not have to go that far,”
“What do you mean?” asked Hunter stopping.
"They are coming here," she muttered.
“Yes, I can feel them now. I’ll go and tell Eva,” said Hunter.
"I will take care of them," she said.

“Cassius you take Angus and Derrick around the otherside we’ll monitor this area,” said Michael.
They nodded "Where do you all think you are going," the voice smooth as silk flowed over them.
Michael turned and saw the most beautiful figure, her skin glowing with golden radiance.
She smiled as she walked slowly looking at them. “I have a proposition for you Michael,” said Claudia.
He looked at her no answer, they tensed grabbing at their weapons as she approached them.
“I think you will find this offer a lot more appealing then what any of those council goons can offer you,” said Claudia.
"Such as?" asked Michael as he grasped his weapon tightly.
“Safety, protection for your people. We know your family is the last of your bloodline,” said Claudia.
"Hmmm doesn’t sound very convincing," he muttered.
“Well let me convince you then,” said Claudia stepping closer to him.

“Eva, the council is outside watching us now, Claudia is taking care of it but our target is not alone,” said Hunter.
“Good, we can speed up our plans, if we can get Michael sitting as the head councilor we won’t have to worry about the vampires threatening us,” said Eva.
“Ok we’re ready to go out,” said Katherine.
“Good, lets bring them inside then and show them how profitable this relationship could be,” said Eva.

“Stand back men, this could be a trick,” said Michael.
“No tricks, we just want to offer you a better deal,” said Claudia.
“She’s right we just want to be left alone, we don’t want anymore bloodshed. We just want what the other families have peace and security,” said Eva as she approached them.
“The werewolves have already decided to leave us be,” said Hunter.
“Now we want to offer you a better deal then what any of those councilors could offer you, we know you’re the last of your bloodline. You would be a great asset to us, if necessary we will contact the werewolves because this will affect them too if the council decides to continue on their genocidal quest. This must not be allowed to happen, last time the killing was justified the problem had gotten too out of hand to be solved,” said Eva.
“Why should we trust you? The previous Queens were well versed at deception,” said Michael.
“Because,” said Claudia touching his neck. “We are not like them, we’ve already started to set up the laws and control measures to stop that from ever happening again, it cannot happen again,”
“Why don’t you come inside? Where we can discuss more freely,” said Eva.
“Michael it’s a trap we should leave now,” said Cassius.
“I know, but we have little choice they have us surrounded,” said Michael.
Cassius looked around and saw the men in the trees behind them.
“Yes the Lycan Council’s guards have been lurking around for a while now, I think it’s just their insurance that nothing bad is going to happen,” said Eva.
“Yes sir,” said Cassius. “Stay close everybody,”
“Good, I’m glad we could resolve this without any unnecessary bloodshed,” said Eva.

“Report from the guards watching Eva alpha,” said the messenger entering the room.
“Good, anything we should know about?” asked Alex as he received the report.
“It does seem as though Eva is dealing with the vampire council effectively, a group of the vampire council guards were taken inside their estate. It looks like Eva is planning to persuade their council to back off,” said the messenger.
“Good, we don’t need any grief from them, we’re still sorting out our own issues,” said Alex.
“Yes alpha,” said the messenger as he bowed and left the room.

“So what is it that you wanted to discuss?” asked Michael.
“We know that you were offered a council seat to depose the previous head councilor, what we offer is better. We want you to be the head councilor so we don’t have to worry about any threats from there, the council needs to placated,” said Eva.
“How do you suppose we do that?” asked Michael.
“You’re family are the council guards I’m sure you can think of something, even if you have to replace the entire council. We just want peace so we can raise our family in peace,” said Hunter.
“Yes I don’t want my daughter or son growing up with danger around them, I want them to grow up safe,” said Eva.
“Victor needs to be removed then, he’s the one who hatched the whole plot and incited the other councilors against him,” said Cassius.
“You’re a lot more observant then I thought Cassius,” said Michael.
“Thank you sir, I’m only interested in what is best for our family,” said Cassius.
“So what needs to be done to allow this to happen?” asked Eva.
“He trusts me I can get in close enough for the assassination hit,” said Michael.
“And we could execute hits on the other council members that would be resistant,” said Cassius.
“We can deal with that we know how to pull of the assassination of top ranking people,” said Angus.”
“Angus and Derrick are expert assassins, they are perfect for taking out the disagreeable councilors, so what in the way of proof will you give us that you’ll keep your word before we do this?” asked Michael.
“With this,” said Eva before she pulled him to her and pushed her head against his. A bright flash filled Michael’s vision as memories flowed through his mind like a rushing tap.
When Eva let him go he stumbled and said “Wow, that was intense. They aren’t going to betray us it was the weakness of their last generation that caused their downfall, they didn’t remove the defective ones as they were supposed it and it ended up infecting them all,”
“Ok that’s all we needed to know, we’ll get this plan done. Victor expected us to attack here tomorrow night, we need to give him something so we’re going to give him a bunch of made up weak points to please him then tomorrow night we’ll put the action plan in place,” said Michael.
“Good, now we can show you the pleasures of our line and you can show us yours,” said Claudia trailing a nail lightly over his neck. Michael groaned as the women approached the men.
