chapter 22

*Daylith's View*

Timmy lost all focus on the game and seemed caught in a trance as he looked out into the field. I also stopped playing to look, and noticed a guy was running to catch a football.

I couldn’t tell who it was, but Timmy appeared really interested being that he wouldn't stop staring.

"Who is that?" I asked.

He didn’t answer me which made me a little frustrated. Just when I was about to say something else, Timmy commented, "You can't tell? It's Marcus."

The name caught me off guard, and I turned to look at the boy again. All I could make out to be Marcus's was his blonde hair, and I sneered in aggravation. 'Why'd he have to be here!?' I thought to myself angrily.

Marcus turned around and threw the ball back to whoever was behind the hill, and ran out of sight.

"He better stay over there, that's all I can say." I said while dribbling the ball again. The sound of the ball hitting the blacktop rang loud through the tense atmosphere that formed around us, and Timmy looked at me with a worried expression on his face.

"You think we should go?" Timmy asked.

"Pshh, I'm not leaving anywhere because of him. Don't worry, if he was going to start anything he'd be coming over here right now."

Even though I didn't completely believe what I just said, I didn't want to play the role of the wimp and run away.

Timmy sat down on the side for awhile and just watched. It was obvious that Marcus killed his carefree mood. However, after about fifteen minutes, Timmy seemed to open up a bit more by talking, until eventually he started playing again.

Everything went back to normal, and I checked my watch to find out we only had a half hour left until my dad would be here.

I made the announcement to Timmy and he just nodded his head. His face was dripping with sweat, and I watched him bend down to grab his shirt off the ground and wipe his face.

"What's the matter? Can't handle being sweaty?"

He shrugged his shoulders, "Eh, I'm kinda used to it I guess."

"Good, cause later on tonight you'll be sweaty too." I teased.

He smiled and his eyes focused on my dick for a second before looking away.

I could tell he wanted it.

Before I could tease him more, the sound of an engine bawling in the distance pulled both of our attention towards the road.

"Aw man, you hear that?!" I excitedly commented from the sound of the engine, "That car sounds intense, I hope it's coming down this road."

I didn't get the feeling that Timmy was into cars like I was, but he did eye the road curiously.

Just then a forest green ford Mustang Mach 1 mounted the hill.

I watched in awe; silently wishing I could get a car like that, but I knew that day wouldn't come anytime soon.

Timmy, however, looked like he couldn't care less about the car. He took a step back. "Daylith, that's Marcus's friend's car."

"You sure?"

"Yea, he took me in it when you were in New York. That was the time that he blackmailed me."

The car screeched to a stop and a man I'd never seen before stepped out. He appeared a little bit older, perhaps nineteen or twenty. He stood tall and muscled with black hair and dark eyes; from what I could tell, it looked like he had a tattoo on his right arm. Between his size and appearance, even I was a little intimidated.

Next, Marcus got out of the passenger’s side and exchanged a few words we couldn't hear before walking towards us on the court. His friend stayed behind, leaning against the side of his car to watch.

I asked Timmy to hand me my water, and I managed to take two good chugs before Marcus stepped onto the blacktop.

I couldn't stand the sly look on his face.

"So what's this?" I began to say, "You need a bodyguard now to come see me?"

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly to form one of his stupid smirks.

"Funny." He said.

He glanced over at Timmy, who was standing there probably expecting the worst, then back at me.

"I actually didn't come here to start anything, so you can stop trying to act all tough in front of your fuck buddy."

His smug comment touched a sensitive nerve and I struggled to stay calm.

"Then what do you want?" I asked vehemently.

"A truce."

I looked at him a little puzzled and from the corner of my eye I saw Timmy give me a similar look.

"The school's been giving me a hard time because of my record. I'm suspended for the week, kicked off the basketball team for the rest of this year, and next year I can't join football like I wanted to cause they've limited me to one sport a year. So let's just say I've been taught a little lesson."

His words came across to me as fake but I didn't know him well enough to judge.

"Alright then, what's the truce?" I asked.

He glanced over at Timmy for a second before the sound of two short beeps stole our attention; it was my dad.

Marcus looked back at us disappointedly and said, "I guess we'll have to continue this some other time." He turned around to head back to his friend’s car. His friend was already inside with it started so they took off as soon as Marcus shut the door.

"Dumb fuck. I saw the way he looked at you." I angrily commented while picking up the ball and my water bottle.

Timmy didn't make any comments and followed a few steps behind me to my dad's car.

"Look at those jackasses…" My dad was mumbling as we got in the car. "You guys are friends with those kids? Look at em, the speed limit is 30 and they're going 70! I'll tell ya, some people just don't deserve to have their license."

"We don’t know them anyway; they were just using the court too." I lied.

I'm sure my dad felt relieved to think that we weren't associated with them; too bad we actually were.

The drive back home was quiet like usual; so much for any type of bonding in the car. I watched the fields and trees quickly pass by my window and felt the car lift and shake as we drove over rocks and bumps.

We pulled into the driveway about fifteen minutes later and I was surprised to see that only Timmy and I got out of the car. I went over to my dad’s window and asked him where he was going.

He said he had a meeting to get to in twenty minutes and a dinner party afterwards.

"Nice last minute notice dad." I commented. "What about food for me and Timmy?"

"I did a little food shopping while you guys were out, so don't worry, there's plenty of food in there."

"Oh ok, then I'll see you later." I said while moving away from the car. He started to pull out of the driveway and I turned around to find Timmy already waiting at the back door.

We went inside and Timmy followed me straight into the kitchen. I noticed how silent he's been since we left and I knew he was thinking about Marcus.
