Ririka
A/N: Stripperella! Thanks for the fanart!! Always appreciate it! I meant to tell you this sooner, but I haven\'t put a new chapter up in a long while. And, on that note, I\'m sorry it\'s been so long since my last chapter! I\'m in the final weeks of this particular class, so I have to spend more time, you know, doing important stuff like studying. It\'s awful, but it needs to be done. I will try to get a few more chapters up today, but no promises. I already have the ideas in my head, I just have to get them onto the computer!!!
Chapter 22 – Ririka
“You are not missing school to come with me,” Shinwa denied Yuki as she followed him out of the gates. He shoved his cell phone into his pocket after his phone call and walked away from the school, Yuki following diligently behind. “Your parents will kill you.”
“My parents will never notice,” Yuki whined, shuffling after him. “They are still too distraught about losing Nakago and Kaori, whom no one has found so far. I am an enigma that barely exists.”
Shinwa spun around, looking down at the girl with the cold gray eyes that were warm all in that same moment. He hated looking into those eyes and seeing the pleading that burned in them. He knew how much she wanted to go, she did not trust some of his co-workers, especially Ririka, who he was going to be having a very romantic scene with on this special day. It was why she wanted to go, and he could not imagine feeling comfortable kissing another girl in front of his girlfriend even if he was only being paid to do it and felt no emotion.
“You already used your one free day to come with me, during school,” Shinwa pointed out, reminding her of that one day last week when she had followed him so closely around the town and the stores, watching his every move from behind the cameras, and being sure that Ririka did not try to make a move on the man who was the love of her life.
“Yes, but I want to come today,” Yuki whined, stomping her foot on the sidewalk.
“Yuki, you are not going to want to watch this today,” Shinwa warned. “You know what is going to happen today, are you positive you want to be there while I am kissing another girl?”
“Yes!” Yuki insisted. “Come on, today is going to be boring anyway. It’s the day after a test, Shai stayed home sick, she’s been pretty weak since she had little Shu, so I’m all alone, and bored. And if you leave, who will I have to sneak off with at lunch?” Then, of all things, she fluttered her eyelashes. On Yuki it looked a bit funny, she was this childish girl fluttering her eyelashes, and yet it still made Shinwa’s blood race.
“No,” Shinwa insisted, turning on his heel and hating every moment of trying to walk away from the girl who would undoubtedly follow him.
He was right.
“Shinwa!” she called out behind him, running down the sidewalk to keep up with him. He tried his hardest to lengthen his stride, to outpace the girl behind him. It did not work. Yuki was persistent, and it was one of the things he would not have given up in her.
Yuki hopped up behind him and threw her arms around his waist, pulling him into her chest and holding him close. He had to stop moving, so he did not end up dragging her along, which he would easily be able to do. She weighted about 90lbs and he could bench press her if he had to. “This is absolutely that last time,” Shinwa insisted.
“Because you don’t want me there?” Yuki asked, her voice holding a false tone, that was terribly fake. He still fell for it.
“That is not why, my dear,” he insisted. “I just don’t want you to miss school just because you want to be with me. I do not want to be the cause or downfall of your future as a video game designer.”
“Please, Shinwa, let me come along,” Yuki begged, rubbing her chest into his back. She may have been virtually flat, but she had enough that Shinwa felt the bumps, and being a man, and as needy as any other, he reacted. He gripped her hands and pulled her back away from him, then turned so they would face one another. He looked down at her, and her wide eyes, and sighed.
“Come on, let’s go before I’m late,” he insisted, and the two of them began to run.
Today’s shoot was not like most of the others, that took place in the world of Japan, that shot from real scenery and took in the beautiful sights of the country. Instead, this was on the set, a set that was made to look surprisingly like the interior of a female bedroom.
Already on the set upon the arrival of the co-star and his lackey girlfriend was Ririka, who was sitting on the bed, dressed in a heavy terry cloth robe, her hair up in perfect curls. She looked positively beautiful, and Yuki’s jealousy suddenly filled the set. It was a living enigma that suddenly had the cameraman filled with chills. He glanced over at the already seething girl, and Shinwa sighed, knowing that it was a mistake t have brought Yuki along with him. It was instant hatred between Ririka and Yuki, and when the two girls locked eyes, it was even worse. Ririka’s beautiful physique and face scrunched up in anger and abhorrence at the girl, who now clung too tightly to Shinwa’s hand.
“Yuki,” Shinwa said, the blood in his hand suddenly stopping as she cut off the circulation. “Sweetie, cupcake, pumpkin, I have to go get ready.”
“Kiseki Shinwa!” someone yelled from closer to the set. Yuki spotted Shinwa’s manager/agent/some guy who just wanted money, a man who tried to be a black American, though he was very much a Japanese businessman before he found gold in Shinwa. The man walked over, his gold chains hanging, his sunglasses, even on the dark set, black and oversized. He looked over to the two and said, “Yo, what’s the girl doin’ here? You know you supposed to be workin’.” It hurt both Yuki and Shinwa’s ears to hear this man talk like that, but he was a God in the industry, mostly do to some connections he had once before.
“Sorry, Puff,” yes, seriously, the man wanted to be called Puff, and Shinwa had to keep from rolling his eyes every time he said it, “but I had to bring her along, you know how emergencies and stuff go,” blatant lie, but the man was a moron, “she’ll just sit and wait while we shoot.”
“Yeah, go get dressed,” Puff insisted, waving his hand and dismissing the star. Shinwa kissed Yuki and hurried off for hair, make-up, and clothing, while Ririka sat on the bed of the set, looking very peeved to be kept waiting. And Ririka, being Ririka, was going to let someone know how upset she was, and her eyes were on Yuki.
Ririka stood from the bed, though her manager was shaking her head and trying to insist she just sit still, but instead Ririka stalked her way over to Yuki and slammed her feet down in front of her, parting them in a menacing style, crossed her arms across her chest, and over the thick terry cloth robe, and glared. “What are you doing here?”
“I see you have given up on all of your false niceties?” Yuki snarled back, her anger glowing around her. People began to back away, sensing the auras of two angry women.
“I tried to be nice to you,” Ririka insisted, her anger no less, “but instead you did everything you could to try to throw in my face that you have Shinwa. Look, I am not playing your little game. I don’t want Shinwa, as a boyfriend he would probably be dull since his only experience is with that bitch Kyouteki, who deserved what she got, but now he’s got you distracting him. As an actor no one can beat Shinwa, you’ve seen it. But he’s slacking, and its all your fault. You being here is going to distract him.”
“What do you know?” Yuki asked, taking on the same stance as her adversary. “You and your fake boobs don’t know anything about real acting. Your facial expression is always bland, your skirts always short enough to distract from that, and your voice is possibly more dull when not behind a microphone and hidden away. What do you really look like under the forty pounds of make-up, because I am sure it’s not like this.”
Ririka began to raise her hand, very tempted to slap the pretty little smug smile off of Yuki’s face, but her manager, a very imposing businesswoman who reminded Yuki very much of Mrs. Chenbaro-Tennison, grabbed Ririka’s hand and kept the slap from ever resounding. “If she slaps you back it is going to take another ten pounds of that make-up to fix the swelling,” the manager told her charge. “Now go back to the bed before you mess your hair and she slaps the lines out of your head.”
“Thank you,” Yuki said to the manager when Ririka had returned to the bed in a huff. Instantly a woman rushed over to the actress to start reapplying make-up to make sure her angry flush did not come through.
The manager turned back to Yuki and gave her a sneer. “I did not do it for you, I did it for my protégé,” she snapped. “By all means Ririka is right about you. You are going to hold that Kiseki by back, and he will never be able to do the things he is aspiring to as long as he is worrying about you. When he lets you come along with him, that is just showing him exactly where his heart really lies, with you. He is going to give up all of his hopes and dreams, for you.”
Yuki shook her head ferociously. “He would never give all of that up for me,” Yuki denied. “He has even admitted he would leave for the right opportunity.”
“He would?” the manager seemed especially interested in this as one of her eyebrows arched high and she smiled at the prospect. Yuki suddenly had this bad feeling that she had let something slip to a woman she would have been better keeping the secrets from.
“All right, quiet on the set, our star is finally ready!” the director yelled. This seemed to only make Ririka fume more, having Shinwa being referred to as the star.
Yuki found a small corner to watch the acting from, her eye always following Shinwa and Ririka, and occasionally glancing towards the managers who seemed to be conspiring together. Why did she have a feeling she had just made things worse?
“You are not missing school to come with me,” Shinwa denied Yuki as she followed him out of the gates. He shoved his cell phone into his pocket after his phone call and walked away from the school, Yuki following diligently behind. “Your parents will kill you.”
