:::: Several weeks later, out at sea ::::

Christian and his band of warriors were sailing over the seas towards a rumored location of this child Freya talked about.

She was hidden below among the supplies, He had told her she could not come but sneaked aboard anyways. Hiding had been easy so far, the men that came down never even noticed her and she had food to eat. She sat munching on some dried meat.

Christian had felt her and smelled her for some time now; at first he thought it was his mind. But now he was almost sure she was onboard and he set out to find her. It wasn’t long until he was below with all the supplies. He sniffed the air.

“Come out, I know you are here”

She sat still for a moment, then stood and looked at him. She chewed her bottom lip.

“What are you doing here?” he asked, he was not pleased, not one bit.

"What does it look like? I told you I was coming."

“You are going to be the end of me. You should know better than to follow onboard a ship” he shook his head and started to pace.

"I\'ve been here the whole time and nothing bad has happened. So you see you being superstitious is silly."

“There is few things Vikings fear. Superstitions is one of them”

"But nothing has happened. Anyways you’re stuck with me, you won’t toss me off."

“Yet, nothing has happened yet” he added. He was not happy at all as he started to walk up on deck again.

She sat back down and rested her head on her knees. She thought he\'d be happier to see her. She felt the ship shift and her heart went to her throat. He was going to put her on land. No he wouldn\'t, would he?

“Alright you land dwellers, get off the boat and secure her!” Christian ordered. After a moment the ship was pulled up on shore.

She folded her arms and put a determined look on her face. She was not getting off the boat.

“Alright men, you know the drill. Secure the area and find a good place to set up camp”

Feet could be heard above and soon coming down the stairs towards the storage. She just sat there and glared at anyone who came down. She held her head high and just waited. One of the Vikings dragged her out of the hold and tossed her off the boat.

“We have a stowaway, what’s even worse… It’s a woman” he said. The Vikings that were still around that hadn’t gone out to scout circled around her.

She had struggled and kicked him several times. When he had tossed her from the boat she had landed hard but caught herself. Now she watched the men as they closed in on her.

"Leave me be, I warn you."

“What should we do with her? She has been with us the entire trip, it was pure luck that we didn’t sink” one said. “How about we kill her?” another said. A third walked up to her, placed his sword on her chin to make her head tilt up so he could see it. “I say we have our way with her”

She frowned at him, her hand flamed and she touched the sword, causing it to heat intensely. "Any of you touch me and I will send you to the underworld." She really couldn’t do that but it sounded good.

The Viking behind her hit her hard at the back of her head with a club, knocking her out cold. “Nicely done, you deserve to go first for that” one of them said. Just as he was about to touch her, a growl was heard from behind them. Christian stood there with his arms crossed over his chest. “I’m sorry my lord, we thought this one could be for you, we were just about to take her over to the area where the camp is” they all stepped away.

She moaned and slowly came back, her head was pounding. Placing her hands beneath her she pushed herself upright. Taking a hand she rubbed the back of her head. "Who the hell hit me?” She glared at the men standing around.

He lifted the club again and was about to knock her out again, but Christian barked at them so loud that it made them fall on their asses.

She grabbed her head and groaned. "DO YOU MIND! My head is killing me." She gained her feet though a little unsteady.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I should just let them hit you on the head again then. Go ahead guys”

She gaped at him. "You can’t be serious." She saw the men gain their feet as well.

“You said I shouldn’t do anything that would hurt your head” the Vikings looked around and found the stick they used the first time.

"Tell them to leave me alone. I don’t want to hurt them but will. You know I can."

He sighed moved with lightning speed between her and the Viking with the stick in his hand. It was as if he struck a stone wall, the stick was flying through the air and landed in the Vikings face after he landed in the sand.

"I can’t believe you were just going to stand there and let them attack me." She smacked his shoulder. "All because I was on board and you believe something will go wrong, which it hasn’t."

“No, I only did what you wished for” he walked around her and to what appeared to be a clearing of the tree line.

She kicked some sand and rocks at him. "I said no such thing. Only that my head hurt and not to yell so loud."

“My yelling was the thing that kept them at bay”

"Well, I understand that." She trailed off behind him, but kept an eye on the men. "Where are you going? I am not through talking to you. You\'ve been ignoring me."

“What do you expect me to do hm? ” he stopped and looked down at her, having his face inches from hers. “You disobeyed my direct wishes to stay home, you could have brought a lot of trouble on the ship and the men…”

She stared at his lips and just couldn’t help herself, she kissed him. "And did you stop to think that maybe I didn’t want to be alone."

She actually kissed him, he was starting to panic, she would be cursed too. “Spit it out! RIGHT NOW!” he demanded.

She stepped back. "What are you talking about? I am not going to spit."

“You idiot! You might be cursed too!” he launched himself at her, picked her up by her feet and shook her trying to get her to spit.

She screamed. "PUT ME DOWN! You\'ve lost your mind." Her world was upside down, he shook her body making her teeth rattle.

“Not until you spit out my saliva” he shook her again.

She growled and hit him in the center of his chest. "I don’t care if I become like you. I love you, you idiot and at least you won’t be alone."

The hit made him fly thru the air, as his feet was dragged on the ground it caused a long tare in the sand and eventually the forest floor until he hit a thick tree with a massive bang, the tree shook violently as leaves started to fall and the animals around the area scattered.

Her body hit the ground in a thump as he dropped her. She sat up and blinked at what she had done. She looked at her hand then back to where he had finally stopped. "Christian, Are you alright?!” She gathered her feet under her and ran towards him.

He sat up and leaned against the tree trunk; he looked up into the sky and sighed. “Freya” he whispered.

Time stopped. "What is this? You call my name after attacking me and saying such awful things. I should ignore you."

“I don’t care what you do with me. But I want you to do something about your shield maiden. She has contracted the curse”

She looked at her maid then at him. "What makes you think I can help her? Even though your offer does appeal to me." Her eyes snapped in anger.

“You’re a God right? And this curse thing was meant for me…”

"Yes, it was meant for you, it was his words he spoke. You would show your animal side, destroy and kill. I bet he did not know it could be passed on." She tapped her finger on her lips. "I can\'t fully remove it, only you can do that by finishing your quest, but I won\'t let her suffer through the pain of killing without thought." She walked to her maid and touched her shoulder, then turned on him. "Remember what you said, my punishment will come at my choosing." She gave him a sadistic smile, then vanished

A smile came on his face as he looked at the woman coming at him.

The world moved again and she stopped a short distance from him. "What happened?” She looked around. "She was here wasn\'t she?”

“How could you tell?” he was a little surprised that she could detect her. Then again, he could smell her so maybe she could do the same.

"I don\'t know, I just do. What did she say? You didn’t attack her again did you? "

“Hell no. I begged her to remove the blood thirst from you, I asked to remove it all, but she couldn’t” he decided to not to tell her about the prize.

"I see, so I\'ll be like you but won\'t harm anyone, unless I have to that is." She felt a bit of relief, for even though she knew what may happen the idea of killing without thought had frightened her.

“Yes, but that was still extremely stupid!” he cursed at her as he got to his feet.

"It was not. I wanted to kiss you so I did."

“Yes it was and if you want to stick around I advise you to STOP arguing with me”

"Excuse me? When you are wrong I will tell you." She folded her arms. "Anyways you said you didn’t want to live alone through your time and now you won’t."

“By Odin. You are going to be the end of me woman” he pushed the tree he had hit with ease it hit the ground with a bang.

"You’re only upset because you know I am right. Women are always the sensible ones, we don’t need to flex our muscles." She turned on her heels and headed back to the camp.

Christian decided he should go out and hunt for some meat for tonight. He changed into wolf form.
