Chapter 20 – One Down, One to Go
“Helena, I’ve found in our pack’s archives the same thing, it does seem as they became violent and bloodthirsty almost overnight,” said Joseph.
"Must of been some sort of gene," muttered Helena.
"From what I've been able to learn is that their Queens have a control over them just like our Alpha's can have control over us," said Joseph.
"Then perhaps the queens were corrupted some how," Helena replied.
“I’ve gotten more records from Emma and it does seem that way, the records to talk about the Queen’s struggle to keep their power-hungry ones contained but something happened and some of them received the power of the Queens,” said Joseph.
Helena nodded "Perhaps thats why the queen put her gift inside the male as a carrier so he would spread it to someone else, it seems in their younger stages they become power hungry most tend to grow out of it, like a fledgling vampire,"
“That Queen was obviously trying to ensure the survival of their bloodline, she obviously knew what was coming,” said Joseph.
"Yes, and now Eva’s main objective is to bring the line back," said Helena.
“If the council does allow them to live I am going to suggest to the council that we set up surveillance over them, this happened last time because they weren’t able to control some of their fledglings,” said Emma as she entered the room.
"It would be wise," Joseph agreed.
"I agree," said Helena.
"Yet I believe now Alex has had some mixed feelings since their meeting," Emma said.
“How so?” asked Joseph.
"He doesn’t have the anger he had since he was transformed," Emma said.
"That is good, now only if we could cure Justin's depression its starting to bring the whole pack down," said Joseph.
"What’s wrong with him?" asked Helena.
“His mate is dead,” said Joseph.
"She did not live through the change?" she asked
“Yes, but she died after,” said Joseph.
"Shame," Emma muttered.
“I’m quite certain that Marissa was his mate,” said Joseph.
“Shawn did say that he had seen Marissa with a man that fits Justin’s description,” said Helena.
"Ohhh then that explains it, yet he must understand she was going to have the whole pack killed," said Joseph.
“I think he did, he told the guards about her before they made their entrance. You’re forgetting that my mate is one of the council guards,” said Emma.
"Yes that is true, yet now perhaps we should find him a mate or even something to keep his mind off his loss," Helena said.
“I’ll see what I can do,” said Joseph

“Is everything ready Hunter?” asked Eva.
"Yes love it is," he said helping her walk.
“Good, we’ll be able to take a lot of them down if they threaten us,” said Eva.
he nodded as she walked looking at her children she had it planned in case she was killed at the meeting her children would be put in the care of another female she trusted and taken to be raised somewhere else she couldn’t run the risk of bringing them she didn’t want them to die, she held them close should it be the last time she saw them.
“You take good care of them Claudia,” said Eva.
“Don’t worry I will, be safe Eva,” said Claudia.
She nodded and walked away hoping it would not be the last she saw her babies.
Watching Eva and Hunter leave their manor with a group of bodyguards, the scout observed and then hurried off.

“Lewis, something is going on Eva and her mate just left with a group of bodyguards,” said the scout.
"Perhaps the Lycans have made a trap," said Lewis.
“Possibly, but how would they draw them out like that?” asked the scout.
"Well maybe they are holding one of their family members hostage and she has to come out in order for their release," said Lewis
“Possibly, with luck the Lycans will deal with the problem then we can just go in for the cleanup,” said the scout.
"Yes, but still I want assassins on sight incase they do not," said Lewis.\
"They are in position when they come back we will have them," said the scout.
"Good because we don’t need another genocide like 300 years ago at least we can get rid of what’s left," said Lewis.

“The council is waiting for your arrival Eva,” said Alex as they approached the entrance of the council den.
She nodded as she walked passed and the doors opened allowing them access. She stood in the middle of the council chambers as they looked at her as if she was diseased.
“Queen Eva, welcome to our council,” said the head councilor.
"Thank you it is an honor," said Eva.
“You have been brought her to plead your case, why should we allow your people to live after what happened previously,” said the head councilor.
"Because I am not like them, I am not like the corrupted elders, when I was young I shall admit I saw that path but then meeting hunter and creating my family made me want to protect them and the children we bring in this world, all I ask is that chance for redemption," said Eva as Hunter held onto her.
Then the doors opened as Helena, Joseph and Emma swept in carrying an armload of books.
Eva watched them, "What is the meaning of this?" asked one of the council members.
“Evidence of their history,” said Helena as she approached the councilors with the books.
They watched her "Why are you helping them?"
“Look at the evidence and you’ll see,” said Joseph.
They flipped through reading as Hunter whispered into Eva’s ear “Looks like everything will be fine,” She nodded and smiled hoping her lover was right.
“Queen Eva, these books document how your people somehow became savages relatively overnight could you explain this?” asked the head councilor
"Yes I can, in the beginning like a vampire fledgling we become hungry with this gift most out grow it when they find a mate, rarely one will still have that hunger and the Queens tried to control it but something corrupted that. After I found my mate I learned more of our history there is bad blood in our line and it was the Queen's job to remove those that didn't pass out of the power hungry phase," said Eva.
The councilors nodded looking at one another "What of the chances happening again?"
“Very low, this only happened because the Queen is question was weak and didn’t do her job properly, it was unfortunate that the bloodthirsty ones were to become Queens themselves. Their heightened powers spread their influence through everybody inciting the bloodlust and the power hungry urges,” said Eva.
They nodded "Very well Eva then we will call off our attacks on your race keep in mind that we will keep our eyes and ears open should anyone of your race fall into corruption again,"
"We will not sit by and let it happen like the generation during the previous time," said another councilor.
"I understand I shall ensure my race does not make the same mistakes," said Eva.
“The Blood Sky and the Iron Blood pack will escort you back home, we’ve received reports that the Vampire Council is on the move,” said the head councilor.
"Yes they are the next we must speak to and I thank you," said Eva.

“Lewis we have received reports of lycans circling the manor, they look somewhat changed,” said the scout.
Lewis growled "The bitch must have seduced them all,"
Another scout charged into the chamber and said “Big problems, she returned and she was being escorted by two packs, they all carried the succubus markings,”
"Damn so she has the Lycans too?" cursed Lewis.
“I’m afraid so,” said the scout.
“The council will need to be informed of this, take the message to the council. They need to know that the lycans have been infected by the succubus,” said Lewis.
"Right away sir!" said the scouts as they hurried from the room
Lewis sat back in his chair and sighed ‘This just a got a lot harder to contain,’ he thought.
He sighed again knowing that not only were the Succubi going to be tough, the Lycans were going to be worse.
