Chapter Two: Falling Away

It was nearly five in the afternoon when Katsuhiro was driving himself home in his ebony 1977 BMW. It was quite a nice ride home (Even though some kids ran in front of his car which almost made him \"Accidently\" run over the smallest kid). The car drove into one of the parking spots that were held in the Apartment complex\'s parking lot. Slowly, he made his way up the stairs to his room, which was on the L87. The door was unlocked after six different tries and Katsuhiro went inside. But, he was met with a surprise.

\"Why have you awaken me Katsuhiro Sukimoto..?\" She stood by the window, starin the the sunset as if it was something new to her. Maybe, it was considered new to her. Her mis-matched eyes stared at the sun, never moving to see what this man looked like.

\"Why..are....you in my house?\"

\"You did not answer the question Katsuhiro Sukimoto...\" She said smoothly yet as ice cold as her heart was.

\"...I don\'t even know you! Unless you are someone I know or the woman by the name of Cryst Yo--\" He was cut off by the look of this woman. She had..cat ears on the top of her head, which was covered by pale purple strands of hair. Gray/purple and green eyes stared at him, pain frozen inside the irises. She wore a dirtied by blood trench coat that somewhat just threw an odd look for her.

\"I...am Cryst...You woke me from my slumber. Now why would you do such a thing to a little woman like me..?\" Katsuhiro\'s eyes widdened at the woman\'s words. How could she be the woman he has been searching for so many years...? Bewildered, he sat down in a chair, staring at her.

\"What..is the name you go by..? I seriously doubt you still go by Cryst,\" He quietly said to her. The pale purpled hair woman stared at him for a second before looking at the darkness that already has begun in the sky.

\"I now am Mikia Eva Kaisha, Mister Katsuhiro Sukimoto. I have no other name...unless you consider me the number I am supposed to be...\" She said softly then sighed before continuing,\"For too long have I lived in the shadows Katsuhiro Sukimoto...I have been alone and unbeknown to every man and woman on this world for more then four hundred years..yet, here you are. How did you know of me...how did you find me?\" His pale blue eyes stared at her, possibly amazed on how she looked. Here was a woman, who lived for over four hundred years yet still captured in an innocent sixteen year old\'s body.

\"One day, I found this book on my way home from work. It ... was very old and the inscription of the name Cryst was on the cover, possibly used gold thread to put there. But, for five years now... I have read it from the beginning to the end and searched as far as my computer will let me to find you..\"

\"Com-put-er?\" Miki looked at him curiously, somewhat fansinated by the word. \"What is a Com-put-er mister Katsuhiro Sukimoto?\"

\"Please..just call me Katsu. I feel older then I\'m supposed to be when you put a \"mister\" infront of my name,\" He laughed lightly then smiled. Miki just blinked then tilted her head to the right side, ae lie little brown ear twitched. \"Well just follow me and I\'ll show you I suppose,\" He spoke as he stood up. Slowhe mhe moved over to the desk, where a black laptop was. Miki of course followed then looked at the black briefcase-like thing with wonder. She reached her index finger out ... and poked it.

\"What does this thing do?\" She poked at it curiously with her finger. He just watched her, somewhat amused with her actions.

\"It does whatever I want it to do..\" He said to her, his eyebrow raising a little. The crimson locks of his hair were lightly pushed off of her shoulders, \"I really need a damn haircut..\" Miki just blinked.

~*~*~

Night was slowly rolling itself in place. The moonlight lightly glowed through the window, showing the woman\'s true colors. Seemingly troubled, she was once again staring out of the window. Dark circles were under her mis-matched eyes and her somewhat thin pale pink lips showed no emotion as she stared at nothing but the harvest moon. Katsu had just gotten out of the shower. In his hand, was a little red leather book.

\"Here...\" He said softly as he handed it to her. The clock on the wall quietly beeped to twelve in the morning, and it was surely time for the young twenty-four year old man to have some sleep. \"It\'s ... a new journal for you. I always have b jou journals laying around..so yeah,\" He piped up as he also handed her a pencil.

\"Thank you...Katsu...,\" She thanked quietly. Her head tilted to the side as she opened the first page of the journal. It was quite pretty to her. She smiled lightly down at the blank new page, taking in it\'s beauty.

\"I\'m going to go to bed now..there\'s a couch behind ya where the desk is. You can stay here the night if you want...\" He said politely before dragging his body to his room, closing the oak door afterwards. From there, he just flopped on the bed, falling asleep instantly.

~*~*~

Miki, however, continued to stare at the blank page for a second, before picking the pencil up. She ged oed over at the little sterio system by the desk then quietly wandered over to it. Just a push of a button and a song was on, playing away. The song was different from the music she heard back a hundred years ago. It was...louder.

Hey, I\'m feeling tired
My time is gone today
You flirt suicide
Sometimes, that\'s okay

Quietly, she began to scribble in her diary...

Awaken by one man...one man who searched for me. My enternal sleep I wished for did not come...I did not even feel the cold, dark hands of death wrap around my neck. Why was this man...Katsuhiro Sukimoto, searching for me...and it interested me on how far he went to try and find me...

Do what others say
I\'m here standing hollow
Falling away from me
Falling away from me

Never have I thought such one person can awaken something like me....Before I went into that enternal sleep in the damp attic, I thought...I could never have anyone desire my attention. All this time...I thought I was just....forsakened...yet...here I am, in some man\'s apparentment...writing in a journal that he just...gave me.

Hey it\'s your thing,
That\'s when I\'m insane.
I .flirt with suicide,
Sometimes kill the pain.
I can\'t always say,
It\'s gonna get better tomorrow.
Falling away from me.
Falling away from me.

She placed the 0.2 pencil down gingerly on the desk\'s counter, a frown on her lips. Slightly, the demon was confused. She was still curious on why this man wanted to find her so eagerly. Quietly, she listened to the words of the song playing through the tiny stero\'s speakers.

Beating me down,
Beating me, Beating me down,
Down, into the ground.
Screaming so sound,
Beating me, Beating me down,
Down, into the gd.
d.

Falling away.. from..me.
It\'s lost and can be found.
Falling away.. from .. me.
It\'s spinning round and round.
Falling away.. from .. me.
So down

Beating me down,
Beating me, Beating me down,
Down, into the ground.
Screaming so sound,
Beating me, Beating me down,
Down, into the ground.

Twinsting me they, Won\'t go away,
So I pray, Go away.

It\'s falling away from me
It\'s falling away from me
It\'s falling away from me
FALL

Beating me down,
Falling away.. from .. me.
Beating me, Beating me down,
Falling away.. from .. me.
Down, into the ground.

Something..about the song caught the seemingly young woman\'s attention. It might of been the beat or just the lyrics, she wasn\'t too sure. Shghedghed a little, resting her head against the desk as she song began to finish.

Falling away.. from .. me.
Screaming so sound,
Falling away.. from .. me.
Beating me, Beating me down,
Falling away.. from .. me.
Down, into the ground.

Quietly, she pushed the off button on the radio. Something about that song made her remember things she did not want to remember...

Slowly, she stood up then laid down on the couch behind her. The soft cushions formed around her, making it very blissful for her. The young woman somewhat curled into a ball then fell asleep..seemingly always .. asleep.
