Roommates
Chapter Two
A/N: Alright, so this chapter was a bugger to write. orz It'll probably get better once there's more... drama going around. Anyways...
NEWS: Elliot has been moved. I've been asked to move it to the movie section. Sorry about that, guys. :{ I'll post url and the announcement on my profile soon. I really hope this doesn't cause complications. Also, due to younger brother's and overprotective dad, AFF and other high rated websites aren't accessible at my house. Usually, I have a friend sign into my account and update for me. So, if I don't immediately respond to your reviews, I apologize for that! Well, I do hope you enjoy this chapter! Not much but a peek in Jamie's family relationship and the introduction of Andy and his own... relationships. Nonetheless, as always, I adore your words of encouragement very much!!! THANK YOU! -Lollers5 Months and some days later
“Oh, darling, this place is…”Lucille Clark began, smiling blithely about the apartment room. It was a quaint place that already include dark, worn furniture. The kitchen was hidden behind a half wall, giving a full view to the living room. The dining table was situated in a small space near the opening to the kitchen. The front door was near the dining area and three more doors, a few yards apart, occupied the back wall across the living room. It was a tiny apartment and Jamie loved it. “Well, it’s a wreck.” She chirped happily, moving from the front door into the kitchen. He immediately heard the cabinets being opened.
Jamie rolled his eyes upward, body jerking as his arm was being tugged downward. Finally, he gave his younger sister the attention she craved. “What do you want, stinker?” he growled playfully, lifting the six year old as high as he could. She shrieked in laughter, throwing her arms around his neck and clinging on for her dear life. It grew very difficult to breath.
“Jamie,” she whispered loudly, bringing her head forward. The brunette moved his own head forward, bumping heads with her. Taylor let out a giggle, moving back a bit to rub her head, before moving forward once more. “Are ya gonna live here?” she whispered in awe. Jamie grinned.
“Mhmm. Well, with a roommate, of course.” He told her. She opened her mouth to say more but, at that moment, his mother closed the fridgerator door and moved to the counter below the bar.
“Jamie, you can’t cook! You’ll get fat on takeout!” His mother’s smile was gone. He also lost his smile, placing his younger sister back on the ground.
“Ma…”
“I mean, you haven’t had a job before and now, ya going to work to afford an apartment!”
“Ma, I’ve got a roommate-“ he was once again cut off.
“What if something happens to you? You know, your aunt Marisol went off to college too, you know. And not a week in, did she end up in the hospital. She had to get stiches!”
“Ma, she cut herself with a knife while cook-“
“It takes a full seven hours to drive here. And how will I know if something happens? What if you get in a car wreck or a house fire? Or kidnapped, lord, you could be kidnapped and dumped on the side of the road! Then ya’ll be a John Doe inna hospital an’ I won’t have a clue!”
Jamie needed to put an end to this. As she blabbered on about one scenario after the next, he moved forward, a small smile creeping on his lips. She watches too many crime shows, he thought fondly. When he finally reached the, he placed his hands on her shoulders. She stopped talking, blue eyes boring into his brown ones.
“Ma, I’ll be fine. I promise.” He assured softly, keeping his smile.
Her eyes darted around, searching for something within his gaze, before sighing and slumping. She nodded her head. “I know, darling. It’s just… You’re my little boy…” she explained in a murmur, eyes glazed over with tears. He had to stop those tears.
“Ma, you taught me how to take care of myself. I’ll be fine. Trust me. Now, why don’t we go out to dinner, have a drink or two, and relax?” The tears were gone, replaced by a sharp look.
“Jamie Lee Clark, I hope you don’t make a habit of drinking on campus.” She scolded, moving back and crossing her arms.
He swore silently at his mistake before catching her under her elbow, gently leading her towards the door. “I’m not, Ma, promise. You’re right, you’ll be driving to the hotel afterwards, huh?” She pursed her lips. “Taylor, come on brat, time to go!” Quickly, he steered his family out the door, making sure to lock it on the way out. A few other students were walking down the sidewalks, some lounging by the pool despite the cool weather.
As he led his family back towards his mother’s car, he looked over his shoulder at his own apartment. It was run down. It was old. It was off-campus living, a 10 minute bike ride from the university. And yet, it was his. Well, his and his roommate. Grinning in excitement, he couldn’t wait to go back that night and unpack his belongings. This was a great start to his new life.
Anderson Cooper slipped into the apartment, switching on the lights, before looking over his shoulder at the pretty little blonde behind him. She gave him a coy smile as she slipped her arm around his waist, hand ghosting over his crotch. He grinned. “Hold on, let me get the door,” he murmured huskily, moving back to the front door to shut and lock it. As soon as he accomplished that feat, he was pushed against said door by the tall and rather gorgeous lady in front of him.
Jennifer or Jessica- Or was it Jaclyn?- pressed her body against his, hand going for his slipped as she ghosted her lips over his. He grinned. Really doesn’t matter what her name is… “Can’t make it to the room?” he teased, running a hand through her long hair before tangling the strands around his fingers. She let out a groan, grinding against him before nibbling on his lip. Then she moved away.
“Mm, just wanted a taste, Andy. That’s all.” She purred, turning around and sashaying towards the further right door. As she walked, she deposited her blouse on the couch, skirt in the walkway, and left her bra hanging on his door handle; she hadn’t been wearing panties.
Andy moved to follow her, before pausing briefly. A duffle bag laid on the scarred coffee table in the middle of the room. So I have a roommate now, hm? Bummer. He thought, before shrugging off the thought. He had other duties to attend to.
