The Welcoming Ceremony

Seraphina rode through the night in the car that Gideon had sent for her. She was honestly surprised that he did not show up himself, but she was more than glad that she didn’t have to see his face. She watched the scenery change from desert to mountain forest. The car ride lasted about three hours and the closer that Sera got to the Embers Mansion the deeper the dread in her gut felt. She was to be the wife of the man that she hated and by force she would have to oblige him with children to carry on their lineage. Her stomach retched at the thought of having sex with him. Everyone thought her crazy because Gideon was a specimen of utter sexiness. He was tall, handsome, and his body was extremely fit and strong. Blonde, hazel eyed, kissable lips made him the Eros of enchanters. Unfortunately she could easily see through all of that. He was possessive, he was domineering, arrogant, rude, and he knew that his was extremely powerful. He could have anyone that he wanted so it was very difficult to understand why he could not just break off the Blood Contract with her family. Her father had brought down the status of his name when he lost control of himself. No one wanted anything to do with him so he disappeared leaving her mother to care for their offspring. And even though she already had children it was a miracle that she was able to still make a bonding with another man of status. She figured that thanks to him she would have lost all prospects allowing her to be free from her “duties”. Apparently since this arrangement had been made at her birth there was no way out of it…unless Gideon broke it off. She covered her faced childishly with her black shawl and she groaned. What made her so frustrated was the fact that she did not know exactly what Gideon was to gain with their union...unless he knew her secret. And the moment she arrived she was going to make it clear that if he were really going through with the contract, she was not going to make their Bonded life a pleasant one.

“We have arrived Miss Solis.” The driver broke through her thoughts as a giant electric gate opened for them.

She sat up and leaned forward looking at the giant manor that was to be her new home. “Fuck this ritzy shit.” She said under her breath. Her family was also one of status, but since she had been out on her own she had grown accustomed to living a simple life. After driving up to the Embers Mansion the driver put the car in park and rushed out to open her door. At the top of the stairs stood one woman and she wore a look of seriousness on her face. Sera stepped out and wrapped her shawl about her shoulders as she thanked the driver, who was surprised for the woman’s gratitude. She stood up tall and began to ascend the marble steps. Perhaps I should scratch myself in inappropriate places and talk with a ridiculous drawl to scare them into letting me go. As she reached the top the middle-aged, which was Sophie Embers, was Gideon’s mother.

Gingerly looking Sera up and down she sniffed snootily, “All black? Hardly fitting considering that a union is a time for celebration, not mourning.”

“Seeing how I have no choice in the matter of this union, my choice for all black is more than suiting enough.” Sera retorted

The woman stood up straight and adjusted her sleeves with a humph. “This agreement had been made when your father was still worthy of his abilities. What we had hoped to gain was a powerful ally and now we are stuck having a sensitive-skinned enchantress with tradition issues.” She stepped threateningly closer to Sera, “My son fancies you greatly Seraphina Solis. So you will make him happy and you will bear him many children.” The woman reached out and slapped the girl’s thick curvy hip, “These large hips of yours will ensure no problem in that area.” Sera pulled away in offense, but the woman was already making her way to the front door, “Right this way, future daughter.”

Sera was seething with fury wanting to burst the woman in front of her into flames, but that would break the blood contract. Gritting her teeth and setting her jaw she followed the tall lean bodied woman into the mansion. The place was amazingly beautiful. It all reminded her of ancient Rome with the pillars, marble and lush velvety curtains. The lighting was bright and it hurt Sera’s eyes. Because of her skin sensitivity she normally kept her home dark and she felt so much light would be a little difficult to get used to. As she followed Gideon’s mother she noticed that she was being led into a large antique library room.

“You will stay here for a moment while I get Gideon.” And with that the woman turned around and left shutting the large doors behind her. Seraphina walked to the large window and looked out into the night. Sadness filled her. She wanted to be free. She did not want to belong to someone she did not love. She did not want to create children that she would probably not love. She did not want to be wasted away by misery. She refocused her eyes on her reflection in the window. Her long orangey hair had been brushed back into a long pony tail, her golden eyes were lined seductively with kohl and mascara, her lips were glossed with a rosy hue and the knee length dress she wore was extremely fitted that showed off her retro hour glass figure. Her mother made sure that when Sera was presented she would make Gideon die from temptation. I can’t do this.

***

The blond haired Adonis lay on a feminine bed, his hands tucked under his head with a triumphant smirk on his lips. “She will be all mine, Uriel. She will finally be mine!” He spoke to a tall muscular man with dark hair, a beard and an animalistic aura. This werewolf was his best friend.

“What is it about her that you like so much? Is she that enticing?” Uriel seemed bored. Of all the years he had known Gideon he had always heard about Seraphina. But the wolf had never seen her before. He had always been interested about the girl that Gideon never shut up about, but lately he was annoyed that the blond never shut up about her.

“You have no idea. She is voluptuous and that gorgeous face of hers, damn! I just want to do so many things to her and with her it makes me feel like a damn teenager again! And she is so fiery and feisty! I can’t wait to see how much energy she’ll bring to bed!”

Uriel laughed. It was true, Gideon was definitely acting like a pubescent boy in heat, “You never did tell me why this great fascination of yours hates you so damn much. What the hell did you do to her Gid?”

The blond laughed then groaned as if he felt bad about it, “When we started going to school I noticed her right away, ya know? She has this bright orange-copper hair and she is as pale as porcelain, but she has these large golden eyes that are surrounded by long eyelashes, her lips are pink and pouty and full and heart-shaped. Oh man and her body, total hour glass! And with all those cute little freckles man I couldn’t wait till she would be all over me. But she never was, you know what I mean? All the other girls knew my status, they knew my abilities and my rank so they easily fell at my feet, but the moment I locked eyes with her she just looked away as if I didn’t matter. I knew she was going to be my future wife so I found out as much as I could about her and that’s when I learned who exactly her father was.”

“And who was he?”

“Her father is Luciano Solis, the Fire Elemental that lost his soul.”

Uriel who had been half listening to Gideon’s story suddenly grew interested. It was well known that Elementals were enchanters that had the greatest powerful abilities in an element that was their affinity. Elementals are not to be confused with Mages because Mages only manipulated the elements. Normally the powers of an Elemental were something that ran through their genetics and the more that they studied and honed their use of magika the stronger they would become allowing them to tap directly into the raw element itself. This raised their rank from Enchanter to Elemental, but unfortunately Elementals would lose themselves to the pureness of element source and they would eventually lose their soul and their mind. It was a natural occurrence of being overwhelmed and it was a rarity of someone was able to maintain their sanity. “That is why your parents had made the Blood Contract. Both your statuses were ideal at the time.”

“Exactly. Knowing then that her father had fallen from grace mixed with the combination of her disinterest with me, well it made me none too happy. And to top it all off she was more powerful than me.”

The wolf laughed out loud, “Wait a minute! What you’re telling me is that your future honey is more skilled at magika than you are? And you have no problems admitting it? Hell I’d be worried if I were you!”

“Nah I’m not worried at all. Man, but back then I was. A girl that was totally powerful, hot, and had wasn’t all over me, shit I wanted to know the girl’s problem. So one night I went to her and I asked her out. She straight out turned me down. When I asked her why she said I wasn’t her type. She didn’t apologize about it either, she just stated it like a matter of fact and took off!”

“And so you made her suffer for hurting your pride?”

“Man that was the first beautiful girl that turned me down because she didn’t want me! I mean don’t get me wrong, I feel bad about it now, but back then I felt like I had to make sure that I wasn’t someone that was going to go away so easily. I wanted to make her see just how inferior she was and how it was a blessing for me to have asked her out.”

“Shit if you ever did that to me I would have killed you.”

“Like I said I feel bad about it now. But I still want her so bad. And I’m more than ready to continue our legacies, ya know?”

“But if she hates you that much she’ll make sure to act like a dead fish with no response. And she’ll probably make sure to be like that every time. You’ll soon find yourself bored. And so will she. And if she is as every bit as enticing as you say she is you better make sure that she won’t fall in love with me.” He teased knowing that Gideon would become uncontrollably jealous.

The Adonis sat up with a throaty chuckle, “That’s where you’re wrong, wolf. The beauty of the Blood Contract is that she cannot have lovers or trysts for me to worry about. It would kill any man that would dare enter her and it would brand her traitor. Those markings would strip her of status, rank, and it would make her an outcast.” The blond stood up and stretched, he grew bored of waiting for his prize

The rugged werewolf was appalled; his kind believed there was no harm in enjoying the pleasures of carnal nature. However, once a wolf mated it was of mutual agreement. A male wolf did his best to woo his mate and would win over her heart because wolves mated for life. Nothing was ever done out of force. “That’s barbaric.”

The enchanter turned a surprised look to his friend, “So says the werewolf.” Just then a knock sounded at the door, “Come in.”

The door opened to reveal Gideon’s tall willowy mother, “She is waiting in the library and the Sorceress has arrived. Remember to keep your wits about you and keep composed.” She turned and made her way down to the first floor “Come Uriel, I want you to meet my future wife. I want to see your face filled with envy!” He hurried out the door and the wolf uneasily followed.

As they made their way downstairs the wolf could not help but feel pity and sympathy for the poor girl that was going to be tied to Gideon for the rest of her life. To be forced to be mated to someone that you hated under penalty of extreme suffering was too much for anyone to bear. When they reached the library two women and Gideon’s mother stood there. One was an old sorceress and the other was Gideon’s sister Lexie. Uriel could sense that this was a welcoming ritual and he felt out of sorts. “Perhaps I should leave this to you and your family Gid, I don’t want to intrude on your traditions and whatever.”

“Come on Uri! You’re my best friend! You’re practically my family so you’ve gotta be there. Besides you’re going to have to meet her sooner or later.” He leaned in and whispered to the wolf “It may be a bit barbaric, but that’s just the way it is.” The blond led the rugged man into the library with him as the servants opened the doors. They were followed by the Embers women and the sorceress. “This is Seraphina.”

Uriel’s heart stopped as his eyes locked on a shapely woman with coppery hair that stood looking out a window. As she turned to face the group that entered his breathing stopped. Those golden eyes of hers locked on his and heart began to race uncontrollably, his veins boiled in passion, and his head throbbed from the mere pressure of the beast within him waking. It cannot be! The beast snarled and snapped awake, this woman woke the wolf beast inside of Uriel. His manhood strained against his jeans as she walked slowly over to them, her gilded eyes locked onto his brown ones. He wanted her. He needed her. And the wolf beast inside wanted to claim her, filling her with its seed. It was then that Uriel realized he had just mated with Gideon’s Blood Bond.

Kneeling down on one knee before Gideon and the extremely attractive man that stood with him Sera bent her head and place her palms on either side of her foot, “Lord.”

Uriel’s hands became clammy as he tried to restrain himself from ravaging the beautiful woman right then and there. In his mind he knew she was succumbing to Gideon, but the beast wanted to believe she was surrendering to itself. He knew being around this girl would cause a problem, but he also knew that leaving her alone would mean he would be impotent for the rest of his life. The beast within would never rest until this woman was his. Just then Gideon spoke, “This is Seraphina Angelique Solis. The woman you will be guarding for me.” The wolf’s eyes widened in utter shock. He first looked at the blond and then turning to the kneeling beauty that was his mate. He owed a life debt to Gideon and with this barbaric custom of the enchanters it would be impossible to run off with this woman the beast coveted.

“Stand child.” The Sorceress’s voice rang loud in the library. She was the one that would begin the welcoming ceremony, a powerful woman in her own right.

Sera stood carefully and with grace as was expected of her. She poised herself beautifully with her chin up looking at the man that stirred the ache in her core. He was devilishly handsome and rugged. He’s a manly man. She thought to herself wanting to bite her lip flirtatiously at him. Every fiber of her being wanted to explode everyone in the room, but him. Gods, if I could I would rape him here and now. She became distracted from her lustful thoughts as the old sorceress approached her.

“Enchantress Seraphina Angelique Solis you have come here as offering to Enchanter Gideon Embers of a Blood Bond?” As the woman spoke Gideon’s mother and sister shut the library doors and stood there as if to keep Sera from running away.

“I have.” Sera responded casting her eyes down with a deep curtsey as was custom.

“What do you bring forth to this Lord for your union?” The Sorceress walked around the copper-haired enchantress pouring a fine white sand, encircling Sera in an enchantment. As the woman did this Gideon moved to a tall antique leather chair and sat, motioning Uriel to stand next to him.

“I bring to my Lord my powers, my body, and my chastity.”  They all waited, making sure the fine dust remained white. Sera took the chance to look up and her golden gaze locked to the reddish-brown one of the man she found so appealing. After tonight she would not be able to see him again clearly until she was completely bonded to Gideon. She stared at him making sure to memorize every inch of the wild handsome man. His hair was black and wavy as it hung about his ears and his bronze skin was beautiful to her. His plump lips made her mouth water. With his height she could picture him looking down at him wrapping his strong muscular arms around her. He was so muscular it made her shiver. The way that this man was muscular was different from the way Gideon was. Gideon worked out to look good and this man was naturally built. He was raw and real. He was the kind of man that Sera had always wanted; handsome, wild, strong, manly, animalistic. Even his fiery eyes that made her soul burn.

“Undress.” The woman ordered breaking Sera’s inner concentration.

Sera once again cast down her eyes as she reached behind her and unzipped the black slinky dress. If she could blush she’d be bright red. She slipped the dress off her shoulders and down her body. She stepped out of it and the sorceress moved it out of the way. Sera stood up straight, with her legs wide apart, and her hands placed behind her head as was the requirement of the Blood Contract. The Sorceress knelt before her and spread her labia apart gently to ensure that Sera’s maidenhead was in fact intact. “The Encantress is pure.” The old woman stood and moved aside.

“Perfect.” Gideon stood and walked over to Sera with his eyes locked on the woman that would soon be completely his. Her stance was overwhelmingly enticing making his manhood throb and swell. Seeing her so submissive made him feel powerful. He circled her inspecting every inch of her body. From her copper-hair that she wore in a braided bun, down her curved spine, over her firm ass and down her thick hips and thighs. He stopped before her and gently grabbed her chin to turn her head up to him. She kept her eyes cast down as he did this and he could tell she was gritting her teeth. Reaching out he grabbed her large breasts and gave them a squeeze. He noted how she shut her eyes tightly. He then ran his hands down her waist to her flat belly, stopping just above the apex of her legs before he returned them up to her breasts again. Letting go he stood back pleased. “I accept what my Lady has offered.”

Sera had shut her eyes tightly so that she could picture Gideon’s hands being that of the stranger’s. Her everything in her being wanted him to find a flaw. I should have gotten enormously fat and scarred my face! She thought as he felt her belly. Yet she hadn’t known that this was going to happen to her. And as he finally spoke to accept her offering, her hopes had then finally shattered. A small bit of her had wished that he wouldn’t go through with this, but it was all over for her. She would never again know happiness. “Thank you my Lord.” She whispered in defeat

As Uriel watched Seraphina undress the wolf within him wanted to grab her up and break through the windows with her. He wanted to escape with this beautiful woman and beget her with his offspring. He wanted to protect her and make her happy. But there she stood sexily poised before a man that she hated. She was being forced to offer her virginity and her whole being to a man that she would never love and Uriel could not save her. Every fiber of his genetic make up screamed and burned for him to shelter her and take her some where safe. But she was not a wolf, she was an enchantress that was tied by Blood Contract to the man that saved his life. He strained to fight the beast back as he watched Gideon grab her breasts and touch her body. The wolf was angrily possessive. Uriel had never felt so torn between his nature and his oath.

The Sorceress conjured a large wooden box out of thing air and held it before the pale woman. Sera kneeled once again as Gideon’s mother approached and opened the box. Reaching in she pulled out a long strip of black lace. She walked behind the nude crouching girl, placed the lace over Sera’s eyes and tied it. “To blind you from the eyes of other men until your Bond is sealed.” The sorceress chanted. The red-head stood as Gideon’s mother dipped her thumb into an inkwell that the sorceress held; with it she drew the symbol of the Embers’ crest onto Sera’s chest. “We welcome Seraphina Angelique Solis to the house of Embers as Promised Bond.”

Sera bowed her head. Her heart ached so much it made her want to cry, but she held fast to her tears. She knew better than to show any sign of weakness, especially to the man she wanted to gut. She lifted her head and looked in the direction of the handsome man, but her sight was obscured by the dark intricate fabric. She felt some one place her dress in her hands. “Hurry up and dress yourself, Solis.” It was Gideon’s sister Lexie that spoke in a sneer.

If there was any one that Sera hated more than Gideon, it was his sister. “Thank you.” She hurriedly slipped her dress back on before Gideon could lay his hands on her again.

The sorceress helped the blindfolded girl zip up her dress before taking her hand and kissing it, “Congratulations Seraphina. You would have made your father proud.” The crone whispered before leaving.

Sera’s guts churned in terror and disgust, she just wanted to die. “You have no idea how happy I am right now Seraphina.” Said Gideon as he took her hands into his. “I will make sure that you never go without.” He kissed her hands, “I will take care of you.” He placed his hand on the small of her back and he led her towards the werewolf that sweated nervously. “Seraphina, this is my dearest friend Uriel. He will be your guard. He will be the one to accompany you where ever you go and he will ensure to protect you from any harm.”

Though as ridiculous as the whole idea of a body guard seemed, Sera was more than grateful to have this handsome man at her side. She held out her hand, “It is a pleasure to meet you Uriel.”

His reddish-brown eyes looked at the pale freckled hand of the woman he was mated to. The wolf within him wanted to take it and run off with her. Grudgingly he took her soft hand into his, “And it is a great pleasure to meet you.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it sweetly. Although he did not want to let her hand go he reluctantly did, but he vowed that Seraphina would be his. He swore to himself that he would find a way to free her from Gideon’s bond, or he would die trying. “You know, if you don’t like this guy you could always run away with me” He pretended to joke as he winked at her

Sera wanted to hug the man that flirted with her and beg him to save her, but that would mean the loss of his life and a part of her cared to much about him to see that happen. “Mr. Uriel, as tempting as that sounds I cannot break my contract.” She said with a flirty smile.

Sensing the aura between the two Gideon pulled Sera to him, turned her face to him and kissed her. Knowing that she would not return his kiss he sucked on her bottom lip. He knew he would have to win over the enchantress especially if he wanted her to bear his children. Letting her go he took her hand and led her away from Uriel, “I had your room set up for you, but if you dislike it you could always let me know and I’ll have it designed anyway you like.” He looked at her veiled face as she did not reply. There was something about this tradition that made him feel dominant and superior knowing that he finally had the woman of his dreams in hand. “I know you think you hate me, but I want you to know that we should try to get along. You will be the mother of my children and I sincerely want you to be happy.” Sera turned to him and simply smiled.
