Unknown territory: Chapter 2

I opened the door walking back down the hall taking a left walking down the stairs. As I hit the bottem step the guy with the purple hair was just stepping out of the restroom.

"What the fuck?" I mumbled as a watter walked up to me asking if I wanted another glass. But what he really wanted me to take was the envolope underneath it. So I grabbed a glass and the envelope. I set the glass down on a table and walked towards the front door. As I got outside a valet took off to retrieve my mustang. And as the young man got inside the car it blew up.

"Mother fucker!" I screamed ducking as a blue corvette careened around the corner to my left. It pulled up in front of me the door swinging open as a woman yelled, "Get in!"

I didn\'t hesitate that safe feeling coming back just like before. I closed the door as we peeled off. Bullets fired at the back window and I ducked as we took a sharp right turn careening around another corner. The firing continued and I could tell that we spun around and we were reversing. Her window rolled down and she fired a SG 552 Commando. I sat up for a second as she took out their front right wheel and they flippped. We spun back around and took off heading onto the highway. I sat up as she got a call.

"Hello," She said as the guy on the other line yelled, "What the fuck happened Clairissa?"

"I got it under control Yeiri, I\'m headed to the compound now."

"Okay, let me speak to him..." I could hear him sigh as she handed the phone to me.

"Hello?"

"Are you okay?" I realized that it was the guy with the amethyst hair.

"Yes, I\'m okay... And I\'m sure I could hold my own..."

"Sorry about this, but my sister will take great care of you... And I will see you at the compound."

"Okay... Sure..."

"Let me speak to my sister..."

I handed her the phone, "Yea"

"When you get into our territory take him to the to queen... Let her know that we have secured him and then she can decide wether or not to tell him what he needs to know."

"Okay, see you soon."

She set the phone down as the call ended. The rest of the car ride was rode in silence as I sat in the passenger seat twidling my thumbs.

About 45 minutes later we turned down a dirt road. The trees hanging over the sky like a rainforest. We pulled up to a metal gate that looked almost fantasy like. Their was a electrical box to the right and a sign above it that said 60, 000 volts.

Clairissa pushed a button and a man said, "Clearance please and ID..."

"Clairissa delia yuneya, 3656204D." She showed her ID to the camera as it zoomed on the picture. The gate opened and we passed through going around a beautiful glass fountain that had sparkling blue water pouring out of it\'s spout. We stepped out of the car and walked up to the double doors. Two men stood there in black cloaks with daggers in front of them that were held point down to the concrete. They opened the doors for us and we stepped into a beautiful foyer.

At the end of the hall there was a woman sitting in tall chair fit for a queen. She wore a long loose emerald dress that went down to her ankles. She didn\'t have any shoes on and as we walked up to her she started to look more familiar to me. Her brown hair was straight with red and blue streaks that reminded me of the ocean. It was the same color as my hair. And when I noticed the silver butterfly on her hand that had a silver trail leading up her wrist that looked like a silver ribbon made of lace, I knew that the woman was my mother. She disappeared out of my life at the age of 14.

As we got closer Clairissa kneeled and I kept on walking until I noticed her guards tensed up pointing their guns at me as a warning.

"What are you doing Charles?" Clairissa asked me as I just kept on staring at my mother. At the mention of my name her eyes met mine. Her eyes were an emerald green swirl with golden specs just like mine. And she still looked like the same woman beautiful beyond compare, and the look in her eyes still said loud, and clear: Fuck with me and I\'ll screw you over.

"Mom..."

I wanted to touch her to see if she was real.

"It\'s okay boys... Stand down..." She said her voice still as beautiful as I remember. I took another step and another as a tear slipped down my face. I felt so weak as I stepped up the three steps. When I got to her chair I squatted down in front of her tracing the lines of the butterfly like I use to do when I was a kid when she told me a bedtime story.

She pushed away the tears, "Why are you are crying cherine?"

Something she use to say to me when I was younger when I awoke from a bad dream. I felt myself revert back to when I was a child for a moment a memory licking at the back of my mind of when I was 7 years old.

As I awoke from my slumber I\'d always see my mother at the edge of my bed. She take me in her arms hold me until I stopped crying sing me a beautiful lullaby. She\'d tuck me back into bed kiss me on the forehead and say, "Goodnight Cherine..."

"What does that mean mommy?" I\'d always ask and she would say it meant something sweet, but this time she told me it translated to beloved darling...

I looked up into my mom\'s eyes pulling myself out of the memory.

"Where have you been?" I asked hoping to get an answer.

"Walk with me," she said as she stood up grabbing my hand.

"My queen," one of the guards said in alarm.

"He\'s my son not someone I just met... Cool your fucken jets."

He didn\'t say another word as we walked down the three steps. I chuckled as we came up to Clairissa and my mom touched her shoulder and she stood.

"Thank you for bringing him here... You and your brother deserve my gratitude... I shall meet you two here in an hour and when your sibling gets here tell him to come to my quarters I shall talk to him for a moment about tomorrows ball."

"Yes, my lady..."

Clairissa walked off as we took a left going down a hall of paintings.

"To answer your question I\'ve been here for over three thousand years. 46 years ago I gave birth to you, but I couldn\'t stick around I had to attend to my duties here. So I paid a man to watch over you and take good care of you. Your real father couldn\'t have taken care of you because he\'s dead. And until you reached your 45th birthday I couldn\'t lay a hand on you ever again. Because I didn\'t want to raise you by seelie standards they punished me..."

"How come I don\'t age like everyone else?"

"Your a fae... Once you hit the age of 28 you stopped aging, stopped getting older and thats how we fae stay beautiful... We are immortal and can only be killed by magic... By definition right now you are a true fae you just haven\'t drank from the goddesses fountain..."

"You mean the one out front?"

"No, that ones just for decoration... The real one is in the green house... Here hold on tight..." I laced my hand with hers and the next moment we were inside a beautiful green house.

"What just happen?" I asked looking around.

Flowers were in full bloom all over the place and in the center sat a diamond fountain that had blue liquid pouring out of the spout. There was a yellow chalice that sat above it. And as we walked up to it she filled it with the blue liquid. She presented it to me like I deserved it.

I took it hesitate at first because I didn\'t know what it was. I took a sip and it tasted like sweet honey mixed with hazelnut, and vanilla. I took another long gulp handing it back to her because I felt a little nauseous. She put the cup down as my knees buckled. She caught me as she whispered, "just breathe through it honey... Your not dying..." She laughed beautifully and my breathing slowed. "You\'ll feel a slight push on your back but its natural... Everyone went through this even me..."

I felt a tingle on my back over my right shoulder blade like acupuncture. I felt wetness slide out of the corner of my eye, but it didn\'t burn like tears. And then as I blinked I could see sharper in both my eyes and the color returned in my right eye.

"Wow... I... I can see, colors," I whispered to myself as I tried to sit up.
