Ch.2
The dinning room was what you’d expect to see from a fairy tale book: A long wooden table, glossy and dark brown, sat in a large room where at the corners held lit candles and a chandelier above lit the room with a dim light. Wine glasses, that doubted held wine, sat beside designated seats. It really was just a gathering to meet with and introduce the ‘human’.
The first person to enter the room through the hallway in front of them was a woman: she was a tad taller than Amber, her skin was naturally tan and her hair a light chocolate brown; eyes were like caramel and she wore a hot pink, sleeveless dress that had frills at the bottom.
“Hello, I’m Jeremy Its nice to finally meet you! Jessica never stops telling us stories of you two when you guys were younger!”
Amber recognized her voice to be the one behind the door that she pasted earlier. But, the smile that Jeremy gave her was truly charming.
Amber blushed, “R-really?” Jessica nudged her which made Amber glare at the older girl, “Sorry, jeeze, its nice to meet you too Jeremy.”
Next was another woman, but shorter coming up to Ambers shoulders. She had shoulder length dark brown hair and blue eyes like the Caribbean Sea. Her dress was a lime green cocktail dress with spaghetti straps and a cut on the side by her thigh.
“I am Jacqueline, but you can call me Jackie.”
Amber automatically adored her. “Its nice to meet you.”
Amber became nervous as the men came in, which one would be the Dunkin that Jeremy had been warned about? The first man wore a black tux with a red undershirt, no tie and his shirt was a little unbuttoned. His hair was long for a man and was blond. His eyes a lovely green.
“I’m Ryan, Jackie’s boyfriend.” He smiled as he shook her hand.
“Its nice to meet you, Ryan.” Amber smiled back as Ryan went to go sit by his girl. Amber’s attention was turned to Jessica as she heard her older friend giggling.
Amber found another man kissing her friends cheek and pulling her close to him. He wore a button up white t-shirt and nice jeans. His hair was light brown and eyes grey.
“This is Lastat.” Jessica introduced, “Now, go sit down!” She warned him in a whisper.
Lastat laughed and went to go sit down at the table and talk with the other vampires. Amber’s heart began to race, how many more were left until this Dunkin character came? Was he going to hurt her? Would he try?
A man, dressed in a red dress shirt and blue jeans walked up to her: his hair was black, short in the back and long in the front, his long bangs covering one of his eyes. His eyes were such a light ice blue that it sent Amber chills.
“Well, well, would you look at this?” He asked sarcastically as the room fell silent, “A human and a pure one at that! Jessica, you tease me. I’m Dunkin, nice to meet you sweetheart.”
Dunkin took Amber’s hand and kissed it, sending goose bumps across her skin, “And I mean that literally, I’m sure your blood is sugar sweet.” He chuckled before going to sit at the table with the rest of the house hold.
Amber gulped in nervousness, that was Dunkin…Damn. Jessica leaned over and put a hand around her shoulders.
“Don’t worry, he wouldn’t dare lay a finger on you or I’d put him out in the sun.” She said in a motherly tone.
Amber sighed, “Thanks, but I can take care of myself, Jess. I have learned a few tricks these past few years.”
Jessica and Amber went to join the ‘family’ at the table. They talked and laughed about Jessica’s and Amber’s pasts together. Amber tried to best to avoid Dunkin’s stare, but was partially unsuccessful.
