Part II

Yes I work hard on this fic because I don't want it to stop halfway. This will be the last part of it... yah. LOL again, tell me whacya think. Maybe I'll write more about these characters if I ever feel inspired again. Haha...

Recap:
"Please sort it out with him Hito. It makes me sad to see him so upset. He even swooped so low as to act sick to get away from you."

He had been wrong about her. She wasn't as oblivious as he thought she was. Being so genuine about her feelings about Kiri made Hito think higher of her. He thought about what she said. Kiri really was a delicate person. Someone who needed to be cared about and loved.

"Would Hito be so kind and check on Kiri for me? It'd be great if you could cheer him up for me." Ayu smiled at Hito expectantly. The smile had hidden meaning. Hito nodded to her and set out to do what he had been meaning to do for the past few weeks. Make up with Kiri.

Part II

Hito stepped lightly into the lounge, it's light blue colored walls reminded him of the color of Kiri's eyes. It calmed him. The stylish lounge chairs were placed the same way as they were when he last came into the room at lunch. Unlike the leather couches and lounge chairs in the main room, these were made out of a silky white fabric. They had to be cleaned very frequently from the stains often made by the dark washed jeans that so many hosts liked to wear.

Of course, there were other stains made on these couches too. Most often, these types of stains are caused by intimate activities between two people. After all, when flirting with each other and touching, many hosts get wound up. Doing any sorts of activities more than making out was strictly forbidden in the main room. Said activities were not encouraged any more in the lounge but everyone knew it occurred here. Hito and Kiri had contributed some of their own stains of this sort. Also of the jeans sort but that was a given.

Being in this room often reminded Hito of the sorts of things him and Kiri used to do. It was sad that they lost so much between them in such a short time. He still remembered the feel of Kiri's pale skin against his fingertips. The way it slid against his, so soft, like velvet. He still remembered the heady rush he'd get when he felt Kiri arching up against him, crying out in pleasure as Hito's hands stroked his-

No, he shouldn't think about that now. He had more important things to attend to.

Black eyes scanned the room looking for any signs of Kiri. He frowned anxiously as he tried to think of any place in this room that could be used for hiding. Couch, cupboards, closet, ah, there he was. The curled up form of Kiri sat scrunched up in a lounge seat in the corner of the room. His slender form shook as he took an inhaling breath meant to calm only to lose it as it trembled out.

Hito approached the lounge chair. What would he say? Kiri, I'm sorry? I love you? I need you? Forgive me?

"Suck it up, Kiri." He was never one good with words.

Watery eyes stared up at him. Shock, then anger.

"Suck it up? What have I ever done to you huh?"

No reply. 'You stopped loving me, Kiri. Stopped talking to me. Started avoiding me.' But of course, he couldn't say that out loud.

"Exactly! Nothing!" Tears were starting to well up in Kiri's eyes. The tension of the night had to be released somehow.

"Kiri..." For it hurt Hito when Kiri cried.

"You... you, why did you have to," He stopped midsentence. He swallowed to clear the lump that was suddenly forcing it's way up his throat. Sitting up into a stiffer position, he pulled his knees up under his chin and wrapped his arms around them. He continued. "How could you think you can take a break from me? Pause for a second so you can see if there are better guys? Then what? You'd come back if you couldn't find any eh?"

"No, that's not what I meant. I just-"

"No, you're right. That isn't what you meant." Kiri's eyes narrowed and his face took on an unpleasant turn. "Maybe you just need a change. Maybe I'm just not the person you were looking for."

His eyes, which were filled with tears, blinked and cast down. Finally, a lone drop rolled down his cheek before Kiri buried his face in his knees. His form quivered. Hito felt as if someone had gripped his heart in a fist and was squeezing it. Soon, it would start to hurt too much. He kneeled down in front of Kiri's lounge chair and put a hand on his head. He ran his fingers lightly through Kiri's blond locks.

Kiri's head whipped up. Streaks of tears marring his face.

"Don't touch me!" His right hand came to knock Hito's hand away from him. "I'm not a piece of garbage that you can... throw away and pick up whenever you want!" His tears only flowed freely now. They trickled along his cheeks down to his chin eventually dripping onto his legs.

Hito smiled, a gentle spread of his lips. Once again, Kiri's eyebrows knitted together as Hito took both of his hands in his own. Kiri's face was full of confusion as Hito leaned in and pressed his lips against Kiri's frowning ones. He waited until the trembling stopped. Until the sobbing stopped.

Kiri's eyes shut and he leaned in. He hated that Hito had this effect on him. Hated that Hito could control his emotions so freely and affect him in a way no one else did. With a last gentle press of his lips to Kiri's, Hito pulled away.

"Are we all calm now?" Hito didn't wait for an answer. That would give Kiri an excuse to get worked up all over again. "Sorry for what I did. I just thought that we have a bond that couldn't be broken by anything." He let go of Kiri's arms and smoothed his thumb over Kiri's cheek wiping his tears.

"But, still."

"I know, I shouldn't have done that. He was just there so conveniently and-" He stopped and realized that he was just trying to come up with excuses. "But you should know that I would never leave you for anyone. I," Hito swallowed. Kiri's eyes widened. " I feel like anything I do with anyone else is nothing compared to what we have with each other. Not with the guests. Not with Mamihe."

"Hito, stop bullshitting." Kiri looked down.

"I'm not. I mean it."

"Then why don't you ever meet me outside the club?" Kiri looked straight into Hito's eyes. His eyes desperately pleaded for a legitimate reason. 'Don't hurt me.'

It hit him then. Hito realized that even though they had each other's emails and phone numbers, he's never asked Kiri out on a real date before. It was just that they saw each other everyday at work. Talking and spending time together for so long that he's always thought Kiri saw enough of him in a day. Sure, there were times at night where Hito would wish he had Kiri in his arms but to ask Kiri to his house... It should have occurred to him.

"I..." Of course, tell Kiri that he's never even though of meeting Kiri outside before wouldn't come out sounding right.

Kiri drew his knees up again. Hito noticed that he would do that when he was feeling insecure. Kiri probably thought that Hito didn't want to see him out of the club.

"Haha," Nervous laughter from Kiri. Another forced smile. "If the reason's going to hurt me, you shouldn't tell me."

Hito smiled at him. "I can't explain it properly."

He ran a hand across pale cheeks and handed him a tissue from the tissue box on the coffee table beside them. Kiri took the tissue and nodded gratefully. Their hands brushed and Hito couldn't help noticing how cold Kiri's hand is. A response to fear, his brain supplied usefully. What was there to be afraid of? Hito would never leave Kiri.

Kiri wiped his face clean of his tear's tracks and threw the tissue into into the garbage. "Hito, I'm gunna go back to Ayu-chan." He got up and out of his seat and walked into the main room. Hito didn't stop him.

The rest of the day was spent in a daze for Kiri. Smile, entertain the guests, tell a few stories, drink a few soft drinks and it was nearly the end of his shift. The only thing that stood out was that he kept glancing across the room to where Hito was. Kept looking at his smiling face and wondering if that smile would ever be directed to him again.

To say that Kiri was reflective wasn't good enough. He was painfully reflective as his thoughts kept drifting back to what he said to Hito; how he acted with him today. Was he too whiny? Had he shed too many tears? But he couldn't stop them. It was as if his flood gate had broke when Hito came into the room. Now Hito probably thought he was pathetic.

"Kiri." His head spun around looking for the source of the voice that had called him. It wasn't Hito, that was for sure for Hito's voice was deeper. Mamihe.

"Yup, do you need something?" Kiri replied, being careful not to sound too rude or too friendly. Just neutral. He wasn't jealous of Mamihe. Not jealous at all. Nope.

"Yeah, actually. You know where Hito is?"

"H-Hito? No... I didn't see much of him today." It wasn't a complete lie. Just not a complete truth.

"Hm, okay then." To Kiri, it sounded like Mamihe was up to something. "I mean, you didn't go into the lounge and bother him today did you now?"

"No." Kiri's left hand fisted at his side. How would Mamihe know that?

"You suck at lying." The words were spat at Kiri and suddenly, Mamihe's face was all too close. "Whatever though." Mamihe sat down beside Kiri. "He probably thinks you're a crybaby now. You know, it'd suck if you dragged down Hito's rep along with yours."

"As if you're better than me..." Kiri mumbled under his breath.

"Hm? Did you say something Kiri?" Mamihe zoomed in close again. "I just thought I'd let you know that Hito was the one who asked me to entertain with him the other day. If you don't believe me, you can go ask Sou." Sou was the bartender that day. He was also working today.

Mamihe got up with that smug smirk on his face. He walked away back to the lounge leaving Kiri once again to his own thoughts. Sou was a good friend of Kiri's. He was the one who introduced Kiri to the club when he was 18 and jobless. He wondered if Mamihe knew about this.

"Sou, why's Mamihe want Hito so much?" Kiri asked as he got to the bar. He sat himself down on a tall bar stool and placed the heel of his right foot on the stool's footrest.

Sou was in his 30's now. But having worked as a bartender for almost half his life, he knew what to say, when to say it. Quite the opposite of Hito when he was out of his element, Kiri thought fondly to himself. Sou came over with a glass of pineapple juice for Kiri. He was often teased about this for it was the color of his hair but Kiri liked pineapple juice. Besides, hosts weren't allowed alcoholic drinks.

"He's probably in it so he could get popular. Just like how you and Hito got requested more after you started hosting together." Sou made everything sound so simple. Kiri thanked him for the pineapple juice and took a sip.

"Is it really that simple?"

"Haha," Only Sou could laugh at a time like this. "Really, life isn't as complicated as people make it out to be." He said it with the air of a wise man. Kiri's eyebrows drew together as he thought.

"You were there when Hito and Mamihe..." Kiri didn't think he needed to say much more.

"Yea, I was."

"Did Hito really ask Mamihe to host with him?" He couldn't believe he was actually asking. Maybe he was a little too desperate.

"Yeh, he did."

"God, Sou." Kiri sighed. "Can't you be a little more specific with your answers? I really care about Hito."

"Haha," Sou chuckled again. "Honesly Kiri, you need to loosen up a bit. You're missing all the obvious here."

Kiri rested his chin on his palm. Sou was feeling extra sadistic today. What happened to years of friendship? Did that go towards nothing? He pouted.

"You know, Mamihe ditched his appointment that day when he noticed that Hito was by himself and that you were late."

Kiri's head popped back up. His eyes widened as the words settled in. Sou patted Kiri's head and smiled at him.

"You've gotta have it figured out by now Kiri, Hito cares alot about you too." Sou's one eye crinkled as he winked at Kiri and he walked away to a girl who was approaching the bar.

He understood now. He really did understand. It wasn't as much of Hito's fault as it was his own. Being late while he had an appointment was obviously going to open up opportunities for other hosts to take his place. After all, him and Hito weren't officially exclusive. Still though, Hito didn't have to go so far as to make out with Mamihe but looking at it now, it probably didn't mean anything. Kiri wasn't a girl. He wasn't fussy with these types of things.

Walking across the main room and grabbing his jacket on the way, he slipped in on and closed the parking lot door after him. What he saw brought a smile to his face. The truest one in a long time.

There he was, his black eyes staring at him. He looked as perfect as he always has, his black hair pulled back into a short stub of a ponytail as he leaned against his car. Hito smiled at Kiri. The next question that Hito asked Kiri brought a grin to Kiri's face.

"Come over to my place?"

And of course, Kiri's answer was yes.

/SOBSOBSOBSOBS- sorry guys. Haha, if the ending seems too rushed or anything. It seems to me that it was a lil rushed and that things worked out weird. You probably weren't expecting this ending were you? To be honest, I wasn't either. It popped out at me when I was uber-stuck at the scene with Kiri and Hito arguing. Sigh.... Iunno, I lost my good ideas.

Anyways, maybe I'll write other fics when I have more time... and xtsukanda and I were thinking of maybe doing a joint fic... OTL school getting the way though
