Chapter One: The Return Of Wolfy
Chapter One: The Return of Wolfy
It was Christmas when I looked on my MuggleSpace page and saw a friend request. It was from my old friend Nicholai Benz from the MACC shelter. I found it completely odd since I haven’t spoken to him since the…ahem…loss of my virginity to him. We were both feeling some kind of way and had sex in a friend’s apartment I was watching for the week. The friend was okay with it as long as it wasn’t in her bed. But I haven’t heard from him in months and I was completely baffled. What did he want? Why was he contacting me now? Just…why?
In the friend request, he left a little note. The note stated:
“We need to talk, Ashley…nothing bad but it’s about time we did.”
All I could say as I looked at the page in the shelter computer room was, “HUH?!”
I accepted his friend request and he immediately got back to me saying to meet him at the New Haven Free Public Library in the computer section near the scanner. I thought, “What an odd place to meet up at! What in Morgana’s name is this meeting about anyway?”
When I got down there at exactly 3:30 like he asked and looked around for him. I even wore my best gypsy skirt and purple blouse with my new Sketcher Girl boot heels and dyed my hair eggplant purple. I was waiting for him for 10 minutes and nothing. I was starting to be afraid that he wouldn’t come when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw the most wondrous sight I’d ever encountered.
It was Nicholai and he was in a black suit, white shirt, and blood red tie. His hair was immaculately blonde and every strand was firmly in place, with the exception of a few strategically placed strands in a makeshift fringe. His blue eyes danced at the sight of me and a non-smirking look graced his features; a genuine smile was on his face. He pulled me into a fierce hug and a tear flowed down his face.
“Nicholai...Wolfy...what’s wrong, sweetie?” I couldn’t help but feel worried and in turn had a distinct urge to comfort him.
“Goddess how I missed you!” And he hugged me fiercely.
And I, the love struck fool that I am, snuggled into the hug like it was my last lifeline to the planet.
“We gotta sit down for this talk, though. How about at the table furthest from everybody?”
I nodded and he led the way. We sat down and he closed his eyes for a minute, took a deep breath, and started talking.
“Remember how I yelled at you for touching my pentagram and keeping my wallet when I went back to Danbury?”
I nodded, not knowing where this was going.
“Well, I did that because I didn’t want your energy and scent always around me, driving me to distraction. You see I had a problem: I was in love with you and I couldn’t cope as I never fell in love before. I struggled from May until about two weeks ago when I just about had enough of my own damn stupidity and stubbornness. I vowed to find you and looked through every social networking website until I found MuggleSpace. You were listed under Quintesential Oreo and I added you. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m in love with you and I wonder if you’re still in love with me?”
I got up, went behind him, held him, and nuzzled my head in his neck.
I murmured.
“Of course. I never stopped loving you for a moment.”
