Chapter 2:
The next morning Brittany’s phone started ringing off the hook
**RING...RING**
"Hello?" answered Brittany
"Hey beautiful. What you doing?" asked Kaylee on the other line.
"Hey Kay. Not much, too hot to do anything really, you?" Brittany asked back
"Just wondering if you wanted to go with me to the mall to help me pick out a cute bikini."
"Sure."
"Okay, I'll be there in a few to pick you up."
"Okay. Bye"
Brittany hung up the phone and rushed to get ready.
Brittany was looking out the window when she saw Kaylee's car pull up in the driveway. She grabbed her bag and rushed out of the house. She jumped into the car and they drove off to the mall. When they reached it they went to find a store with some of the hottest and latest bathing suits and bikinis.
"Let's go in here," said Kaylee walking into a store out of the traffic flow.
"Look at this one," said Brittany holding up a bikini she thought Kaylee would like.
"Ohh. I’ll try that one and this one on. You can tell me what you think." said Kaylee taking it.
It seemed it took forever for Kaylee to get one of the suits on. Brittany sat and thought of how she could react. You see, through out their friendship Brittany had become close to her friend, to close. She had started getting feelings for Kaylee before she broke up with Jeff, but with Kaylee being single now, that just made it more visible that the feelings Brittany had for her friend were more than just friendship feelings, they were feelings that people have when they love someone. Brittany was almost positive that Kaylee didn't feel the same feelings for her. Brittany sighed at the thought. Anyway, Kaylee finally came out the suit that Brittany had picked out. She did a little pose. Brittany had to control herself. Her friend was beautiful. Dark tanned skin, long legs, and long dark brown hair.
"Perfect. You should definitely get that one." said Brittany
"Yeah. I like it too.” She smiled at her then walked back into the changing room.
A few minutes later, Kaylee finally emerged.
"You want to go get something to eat now?" asked Kaylee emerging from the changing room.
"Sure"
They walked down to the food court on the basement level. They each got their food and got a table. As they ate they talked about anything that came into their minds. When they were done eating, they walked back up to where Kaylee parked her car and got in.
"What do you want to do?" asked Kaylee putting the key into the ignition.
"I don't know. It's early," said Brittany
"Wanna go to my house and go swimming?" asked Kaylee
"Yeah sure. I think I left my bikini there last time," said Brittany
*****At Kaylee's house/half an hour later*****
"Oh my god. It's so hot." Brittany said while getting out of the car, “I can't wait to get into the pool.
"I know, right? I'll change in my room. You can change in the bathroom downstairs, and I'll meet you by the pool." said Kaylee
"Okay" she said while smiling
They both took off their separate ways. A couple of minutes later Brittany emerged into the backyard to see that Kaylee had yet to come out. She climbed the stairs to the deck, and laid on a lounge chair, figuring she could catch some rays while she waited for Kaylee. She pulled her sunglasses down over her eyes and relaxed. After about four minutes, she looked over to see Kaylee walking outside in her new bikini. She lifted up her sunglasses to get a better look. She wanted to tell her friend that she had fallen for her the past couple months, but never had enough courage. She didn't want to ruin the relationship that they had. She figured she'd rather have her as a friend then not at all.
"So, are you going in first, or am I going to have to push you in," said Kaylee walking up the stairs and stopping right in front of Brittany.
"I don't think so," said Brittany standing up. Brittany walked over to Kaylee pushing her in but being grabbed by her. She fell in as well with a small squeak.
"Jeez, I wasn't expecting that.” said Kaylee as her head popped out of the water.
"I'm sorry. I jus...I...”
"No. I love surprises." Kaylee said swimming over to Brittany and pushing her under water.
They swam for what seemed forever, playing water games. They looked like prunes getting out. They laid on the lounge chairs until they were dry and burning up.
"I should probably get going," said Brittany finally standing up, "my mom's probably looking for me. She didn't even know I left"
"Ahhh," whined Kaylee lifting up her sunglasses to look at her friend who was slipping into her flip flops, "you party pooper!"
"I know, I know. I'm sorry. I can come back later, and if you let me I can sp...”
"Spend the night!" said Kaylee standing up and grabbing her keys.
"SLEEPOVER!" they chorused as they both walked down the stairs and across the yard.
They talked and laughed all the way to Brittany's house that was only ten minutes away. They talked about what they were going to do later on when Brittany came back. They both figured they would talk rotten gossip about Jeff, and then go for a mid-night swim. Kaylee's pool had a light that hung into the pool and could be turned on so they could swim in the dark. Kaylee pulled into Brittany's driveway and said see you later to Brittany. Just as Brittany was getting out of the car, they both saw Brittany's mother, Brandi, walking down the driveway. She didn't look to happy, and it made Brittany get right back in with fear!
"Brittany, when did you leave, I didn’t know you left." said Brandi descending down the driveway.
"Sorry mom. Kaylee came and picked me up around," said Brittany looking at Kaylee trying to figure out what time they left, "ten-thirty...ish. We went to the mall to get her a new bikini, and then we went back to her house to go swimming."
"Yeah, and we were thinking that she could come over, and we could go for a mid-night swim and then spend the night. I could pick her up or you could drop her of in awhile," said Kaylee.
"I'll drop her off later," said Brandi, "around what time?"
"The later the better," said Kaylee, "Like around...eleven...ish"
"Okay, sounds good," said Brandi
"See ya later," said Brittany getting out of the car.
"Bye," said Kaylee waving out the window as she reversed out the driveway, "Remember to bring back your bathing suit."
"Okay bye"
Kaylee drove down the street and turned onto the main road beeping her horn.
"It's nice that you have a best friend like that," said Brandi, you'd swear you two were dating."
"I wish," said Brittany under her breath as she walked next to her mother up the driveway
