A/N: This has been sitting on my computer forever. I rarely have time to write anymore, so don’t expect an update on this anytime soon. I was just sorting through some stuff and found this little bit I’d written.

*Flashback*

“Do you want me to go?”

“Yeah babe, I’ll see you later tonight.”

One of the three people in the apartment bedroom left, leaving the other two smothered by a tense silence.

Theo stood shock still, filled with disbelief. This wasn’t happening. It couldn’t. Was this happening? It felt unreal. Why? “Why?” It came out a raspy whisper. He dragged his forest green eyes away from the nothing he had been staring off into, forcing them to focus on the last person he wanted to see right now.

Just looking at Damien’s tall half-naked form, -his well defined chest left bare, handsome face shadowed in the dimness of the room, chin and cheeks dusted with facial hair, dark brown eyes looking the same as always, unaffected- it hurt.

“Theo, I- Fuck, I didn’t except you to find out like this.” Dae took a quick deep breath, running a large hand through his tousled hair. “I was planning on telling you, but I didn’t want to give you up yet. Plus I didn’t know how to tell you.” The older man swore softly as he walked the short distance to the balcony, thrusting open one of it’s doors before lighting up a cigarette and inhaling deeply.

The slender black haired male wasn‘t really listening, at some point his eyes diverting from Dae. “We’re over, aren’t we? You- You’re with him now.” He was right. Theo didn’t need his boyfriend -ex boyfriend- to confirm it. He knew.

“Yeah, we‘re over. With me moving over here, there is more than three hours distant between us. I can‘t hold or kiss you as often as I want to. After a few weeks it just didn‘t seem fair to either of us to struggle with keeping this relationship working.” The brunette shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, blowing out another lungful of smoke.

As the other explained, Theo’s hurt slowly twisted and built, his nails biting into his palms. When he spoke, his voice was low and empty, “If that were just it, I might have been able to understand. But before you moved we talked, about whether we were going to try and stay together. You could have said no then.

“But you didn’t.” Theo’s words were momentarily bitter, before he frowned sadly, continuing, “Instead, you let me spend the last two months driving over here to see you, sleeping with you. Wasting money, time and affection when you were already set to move on. Even if after a week you had told me it wasn’t going to work; I could have handled that.”

Not this though. Not the dishonesty, the cheating, the indifference.

He heard another sigh, tinged with frustration, “Theo, we wouldn’t have worked out. Want to know something else? This is only temporary. I’m moving again at the end of the week, I’ve already packed some of my stuff.” The outside air was chilly, and it seemed to reach through to the ravenette’s very bones, numbing him

Theo looked up to see Damien lounging in the open doorway, hair overcastting one side of his face. “An art program in England accepted me, and my parents are currently staying on their London estate. Plus I might hook up with my old band there. Do you think we could have stayed together when we are on different continents?”

Dae crushed his spent cancer stick against the door frame before he turned towards Theo, “They say you never forget your first love. But they also say that your first love almost never works out. It ends.” The teen’s nerves frazzled further when his ex-boyfriend moved closer, stepping into his personal space -something he wouldn’t have minded before- and lifting a hand to cup the back of Theo’s neck. “You’re cute, you won’t stay single forever.”
