Dinner
Dinner
Joss sat across from Andrea as they ate dinner. Though they pretended nothing had gone on between each other for his parent’s sake, they both knew that their friendship was turning in a different circle. Joss’s parents continued to talk to each other while the teenagers ate. Joss looked up at Andrea who was too interested in her food. He had only meant to tease her, to make her upset or to get her flustered, but he hadn’t meant for the kiss to be so intimate. He knew it stopped her, made her become unfocused; because it did the same to him. Now that he stared at her, he couldn’t help but watch her lips move around her fork to receive some food. The act that should have been normal seemed way too erotic.
Joss took a drink of his soda to try and sooth his dry throat. He put his cup down just as Andrea turned her gaze on him. He licked his lips, removing the liquid that lingered there and she blushed. He tried not to grin when she did so. She looked away and continued her meal. He couldn’t deny that he got a good amount of joy out of teasing her, but it also gave him a small bit of pleasure that he could make her feel that way. He looked down at his plate as he played with his food. What was he thinking about? This was Andrea! The same Andrea he slightly hated and always hoped wouldn’t come over. But it was also the Andrea who helped him with his home work and stood up for him at school.
He looked up at her once again and their eyes connected making them both look away shyly. He licked his lips again, but this time in remembering the kiss. She was the same Andy that he would have to sleep with tonight.
Joss excused himself from the table and told his parents that he would be taking a shower before going to bed. They nodded and soon he disappeared up the stairs.
Andrea watched him, her mind still rambling on how much things had suddenly changed in just the past few minutes. It was just a small kiss, but it had blown her mind. She couldn’t think, and now she had trouble looking at Joss without blushing. He was a very good first kisser, and upon thinking of the kiss her lips tingled again. This wasn’t going to be good considering their circumstances. She had told him earlier that he was going to sleep on the floor, but she knew well and good he wouldn’t sleep there. The thought of snuggling up with him in his own bed made her stomach develop a flock of butterflies. She excused herself from the table once she realized that she couldn’t eat with her stomach acting the way it was. She too headed up stairs but she headed to the bed room instead of the bath room. She got her bag and placed it on the bed.
Before going through its contents she closed the door. She took out her pajamas and looked hesitantly to the door before deciding to take off her clothes and change. Once in her blue pajama’s she calmed down and put her bag back on the floor. Her pajama’s consisted of silky pants and a button up short sleeved silky shirt. The only thing it really revealed was her neck, and that wasn’t alluring…right?
She sat on the bed and tried to relax. Maybe the kiss was a onetime thing and Joss wasn’t going to do anything like that again. But he had said he liked teasing her afterwards so maybe she was wrong. She shook the thought off and slid into the full sized bed and tried to get comfortable. If she could fall asleep before he returned everything would be ok, but she wasn’t so lucky.
