“You promise he’ll be ok?” Faust asked, swallowing a bit as he watched the healers lead Ryoushi back into the temple, his hands clenching and unclenching in nervousness. It had been weeks since they had visited the temple about Ryoushi being healed so that he wouldn’t have coughing fits anymore. But… they also wanted him to be healed so that he could have a child. That was what he was worried about. The… surgery, for lack of a better word, was very dangerous. It could kill his little lover… and he didn’t know if he would be able to live with that. They had waited as long as possible but then it had happened… and it couldn’t be ignored anymore.
Ryoushi had stopped breathing.
Faust had freaked out. He had done everything possible to get Ryoushi to breath again but nothing he had done had worked. If they hadn’t been at the temple… Ryoushi would be dead now and they would have lost everything. They had decided it was time then. So, they spoke to Komi and he agreed. It was beyond time to do the treatment. Whatever happens… they have to do the treatment or they could loose Ryoushi forever and there would be nothing they could do. Faust couldn’t let that happen…. He just couldn’t.
“I promise that we’ll do everything that we can.” Komi said, reaching forward to touch Faust’s shoulder as he smiled softly. He was worried about it… of course he was worried. They were all worried. They would literally been touching Ryoushi’s heart and lungs… it could so very easily go wrong. If they pressed just one way wrong, if they moved something just a little bit too much… Ryoushi could die. “We will be as careful as possible; there are three of the best healers in there along with myself. We will help him, Faust; you just have to trust us.”
Faust still looked very nervous but he nodded, taking a deep breath before he stepped back. “Of course I trust you.” He said softly, wrapping one of his arms around his waist as he looked to the side. “I’m going to stay right here… right here until you’re done. Is that ok?” He asked, his hands clenching a bit before he sat down in one of the chairs strewn across the temples sitting room. There were many chairs and they were all very comfortable so he had to guess that the healers in the temple expected people to stay where their loved ones were being taken care of.
Komi nodded, brushing his hand against Faust’s shoulder once more before he turned away, looking back towards the healing room. “Of course, that’s fine. If you need anything, just ask Chris. He can’t heal but he’s very good at comforting people.” He smiled, looking over his shoulder at Faust. “He’s pregnant too… and I know how much you like playing with a baby bump.” He said, waving before he walked into the healing room, closing the ornate doors behind him.
Then they went to work.

“Are you ok, Faust?” Chris asked as he sat down beside Faust, his hand resting on his rounded stomach. It had been almost two hours since Komi and the other healers had taken the hunters lover back to heal him and Faust seemed to be getting more and more agitated. “I could get you something to eat… or to drink. I know its horrible waiting but Komi saved me and my baby, he’ll save Ryoushi.” He smiled as he spoke, remembering when he had first come to the temple. He had been beaten and bloody, his body so weak he could barely walk with a stab wound to the barely formed bump on his stomach. His lover had tried to kill him and his child and Komi had easily saved them. He had total faith in the healer.
Faust just dragged his hand through his hair, an irritated and worried groan coming from his throat as he shifted on the chair. “How could I be ok?” He asked, swallowing as he looked over at the red head sitting beside him. “They’ve been in there for hours, Chris, HOURS and I don’t even know if he’s still alive.” He buried his face in his hands against after that, another desperate groan coming from his throat. “I need him to be ok so bad… I don’t know what I’ll do if he’s not ok…”
Chris smiled warmly over at Faust, reaching over to pull the bigger mans calloused hand to his stomach, letting Faust rub at the baby bump there. “Komi would have told you if something went wrong.” He murmured, his hand laying softly over Faust’s on his stomach. It was his way of trying to soothe the other man and it had normally never failed. “They are working hard on him and I’m sure he’ll be healed so that he can breathe and you two can have a baby by the time this over, just have faith in him. Healing Ryoushi is just as important to Komi as it is to you.”
Faust sighed softly at that, knowing that Chris was right. Komi was a genius healer; he had heard so many good things about him. He knew, deep down, that Komi could heal Ryoushi, he would heal Ryoushi. He was always just thinking the worst case scenario. His mind was running through scenario’s where Ryoushi came out with his lungs healed but still not able to have a child or he came out able to have a child but not being able to have sex because his lungs couldn’t handle it. Or… top worst case scenario, Ryoushi died and Faust lost everything important to him. He couldn’t handle that.
His body started this shake as he thought about it, his breath coming in gasps as the panic started to affect him very badly. Ryoushi dead… him living with out Ryoushi… no, he wouldn’t be able to live without Ryoushi. If he lost the other man… he would be as good as dead. He would become that cold, emotionless hunter that he had been before Ryoushi had come into his life. He would live, yes, but he would not be alive. Just as the panic was starting to overtake his mind, Faust heard the ornate door open again, his head flying up to see Komi standing there, looking tired as hell but with a huge grin on his face. Could it be…
“Is he ok?” Faust was up and out of the seat in seconds, carefully pulling his hand away from Chris’s stomach before he moved over to Komi, walking straight up to him and grabbing his shoulder. “Did he make it through it? Can he breathe again?” His own breath was panting out as he held onto the healer, his eyes wide. Normally he wouldn’t show this much emotion but this was Ryoushi, this was his love and life. He deserved him to act a little out of character every once and a while.
Komi just smiled, nodding as he grabbed Faust hands, drawing him into the healing room. “Yes, he made it through so well.” He murmured, looking very happy as he walked back into the room, leading Faust behind him. “He was such a trooper, even when we knew it hurt; he stayed quiet and just endured.” He stepped aside, letting Faust see his lover lying on the large bed in the room, peacefully asleep. Ryoushi was breathing easily, something Komi and the other healers had worked so very hard on. “His lungs are fine now. His heart is a little… weak still because the bruise will have to heal on his own but other then that… he should be perfectly healthy now.”
Faust walked to the bed, almost in a haze as he looked down at Ryoushi laying there. He sat carefully on the side of the bed, his hand moving up to push Ryoushi’s hair away from his face. “Thank you, Komi.” He murmured, looking back at him with a soft smile. His hand was resting against Ryoushi’s cheek, just touching him as he looked him over. He checked everything he could, his lovers breathing, his body heat and even the scars on his chest. Apparently the healers had worked on healing those as well. They were a lot less visible now. “What…” He swallowed, biting his lip a bit as he looked back at Komi. “What about a baby?”
Komi seemed to think about that for a few moments before he nodded. “We did as much healing as we could.” He murmured, watching as Ryoushi curled up against Faust, pressing against him even in his sleep. “He should be able to have a child, it will still be hard and you will both have to be very careful but, he should be able to have a child without a lot of problems.” He nodded after that, watching the two lovers for a few more moments before he slipped silently out of the room. The two love birds would probably want some time alone now. He knew he wanted some time with his pregnant partner after that.
Faust murmured a soft thank you before he went back to solely focusing on Ryoushi, his hands sliding over his body before he curled up beside the smaller man, pulling him carefully into his arms. “I love you, Ryoushi.” He whispered softly, leaning down to touch him softly before kissing him gently, holding him protectively within his arms warm embrace. He was a bit surprised when he got a response, a wide smile coming to his features.
“I love you too, Faust.” Ryoushi’s voice was a bit raspy, just a little breathless as he looked up at his shocked lover. “What did you think? I was passed out?” He asked, his hands sliding up to grip in the others hair as he pulled him down for another kiss. “I was just sleeping and kisses from you… you should know that they will always wake me up.” He said softly, pressing his lithe body against the others hard chest.
Faust chuckled a bit at that bit nodded, smiling as he held Ryoushi close. “Then did you hear what Komi said?” He asked, chuckling softly when the other continued to kiss him, pressing gentle kiss against his face and neck.
Ryoushi just nodded, nuzzling softly against the others chest. “He told me before I went to sleep; we can have a baby now.” He murmured, smiling as he wriggled just a bit closer to the white haired man, his body already ready to try and start making that baby.
Faust had to admit that he had exactly the same thoughts, a grin coming to his features as he leaned down, kissing Ryoushi passionately before he pulled back. “Hmmm, then how about we go home and start making a baby?” He asked, chuckling when he saw that same, mischievous grin come to Ryoushi’s features.
“Of course, I wouldn’t want to do anything more then make a baby with you.” Ryoushi murmured softly, leaning close to Faust before they stood from the bed.
Whatever would happen, whatever troubles they would come too, they would make a child of their own. Even if it didn’t happen the first time, they would try over and over again. They would never give up and they would never get discouraged. No matter what happened, they would never give up this fight.
They would never give up their fight for a family.
