***********1 Week Later*************
It’s already been a week since we’ve been living here. A few times Noah had asked us where his mommy and daddy where, but we had to keep telling him they went on a long trip. It’s very hard to lie to him, but it’s only for his own sake. It was now time to start thinking about the funeral arrangements, since we had no time when Noah was in the hospital to think about it. Myself and Aunt Emily had woken up early one Saturday morning and looked at the paper all day to find the best place to have the funeral. I think we found the perfect place; where they had our grandparent’s funerals.
-------Day of the funeral-------
I woke up Monday morning and rubbed my eyes. Today was the day we finally laid our parent’s to rest. I got out of bed and got dressed. Noah came running into my room and almost knocked me over. “Jordyn!” He said, as he hugged me. “Hey Squirt” I said to him, as I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and get ready to go. He followed me into the bathroom. “Jordyn can you help me find my favourite tshirt?” He asked, looking up at me with hope in his eyes. “Yes, it’s in your dresser, second drawer” I replied, as he nodded and ran out. I smiled and continued brushing my hair.
When we pulled into the parking lot of the funeral parlor, we saw lots of people we hadn’t seen in years. We parked the car and all piled out. I held Noahs hand and walked inside the church and sat down near the front. Noah was looking around and asking me millions of questions. I turned around and started talking to my cousin, Miley. Noah then got up and ran over to the caskets. I heard him yell “MOMMY!” behind me. I spun around and ran towards him. He was inside the casket, trying to wake her up. All I could do was stare. I was frozen in the spot. I fell to my knees and broke down. Cameron ran and grabbed Noah, then sat him on the bench. Derek ran over to me and hugged me. After a while, I finally had calmed down and stood up, with shaky legs, and made my way back over to the bench.
After, when the service was over, the whole church was in tears. Even Noah was crying because he was starting to understand that our parent’s were gone and never coming back. He kissed mom and dad’s cheek. When everyone was leaving the church, myself, Derek and Cameron all stayed behind. We all went up and said our last good byes to the ones who raised us; the ones who loved us.

It’s already been a year that we moved in here. Everyday gets easier. Derek is starting College, and Cameron is starting high school next month. I’m going to grade 11. Noah turned 7 last week. I thank the lord for every second I have with Noah. I thank god for giving my baby brother another chance at life. I am very thankful for my Aunt taking us in like that, because I don’t know where we would be without her. We would probably all be separated in foster homes or something. My birthday is coming up in 10 days. I’m going to be 16 and Aunt Emily is going to let me get my learners. I’m so excited. I know my parent’s would be very proud of us all. Oh, and the day after we moved in, I added Jonah to my instant messaging list and we have been talking since. I think I may have a crush on him, he is so sweet and nice!
“Jordyn, someone’s here to see you” I heard my Aunt’s voice call from downstairs. I closed up my laptop and ran downstairs. I went to the door to see who it was. It was 3 of my best friends I hadn’t seen for almost a year. We all hugged. “I missed you guys!” I said, shocked. I invited them in and closed the door. “I’ll make some sandwiches” Aunt Emily said, going into the kitchen. We all went upstairs to my room. Noah came into my room to see what was going on. “Hey bud, what’s up?” I asked him. “I just wanted to say hi” He said, smiling. My friends all said hi to him and continued talking. He left and continued playing with his trucks in his bedroom. Derek and Cameron had been at their friends houses all weekend, so Noah was lonely. He’s used to them playing xbox 360 with him.
There was a knock on the door. “Yes?” I called out. “I got the sandwiches” Came a voice from the other side. I got up and let Aunt Emily in. She had a tray full of sandwiches. “Thanks” We all said, as we dug in. I got up and went into Noah’s room. “Hey bud, are you hungry?” I asked, and he nodded. “Follow me then” I said, and he followed me into my room. He grabbed a sandwich and sat on my bed and started eating it. I then got a comedy movie and put it on for all of us to watch. Noah cuddled up into me. I felt good having him with me. I was so scared to lose him. After the movie was over, I turned it off and put in another. About the middle of the second one, everyone had fallen asleep.
I woke up on Sunday morning and looked over at my sleeping friends on the floor. I then looked beside me. Curled up in a little ball, was Noah. “Aww, poor thing” I said, and covered him up. I got up and quietly stepped between my friends, turned off the TV, and went out the door. I headed downstairs and sat at the kitchen table. “Morning” My Aunt said, looking up from her newspaper at me. “Morning” I said back, rubbing my eyes. “Ill drive your friends home after breakfast and then we can go to the water park or something?” Aunt Emily suggested. “Sounds good” I replied. We talked for about an hour. Cameron came downstairs and also sat at the table. “Hey cam” I said, as I was making eggs and toast. “Morning sis” He said “Smells good” He added in, looking at me. “Thanks” I replied.
After everyone ate breakfast, my Aunt drove my friends home. When she got back, we were all ready to go to the water park. When we left the parking lot, we went the opposite way of the water park. “Isn’t the water park the other way?” I asked. “I have a surprise for you” She said, turning the corner and then pulling into a driveway. Just then, I saw Jonah come out, bag and towel in hand, and start walking towards the car. I was shocked and excited at the same time. When he got in, he kissed me on the cheek, and then closed the door. I was ecstatic. When we finally arrived at the water park, my Aunt said Jonah and I can go off on our own for a bit, but to meet up at the big bear for lunch. We were walking towards the changing rooms. Jonah took my hand and we held hands. Right before I left him to go into the woman’s room, he stopped me. “Jordyn.. well I really like you.. and um.. I would love it if you were my girlfriend?” He asked, staring into my eyes. I just smiled. “Yes, I would love that too” I replied, wanting to jump up and scream but I didn’t want to look like a fool. I kept my cool. “See ya soon babe” He said, as he kissed me on the lips and then went towards the men’s room. I just stood there in shock. I smiled a bigger smile then I had in a long time. I then made my way to the woman’s room.
When we had met up again outside of the change rooms, I leapt into his arms. He laughed and hugged me. We then walked towards the water slides, holding hands. “What one do you want to hit first babe?” Jonah asked, looking at me passionately. I blushed and pointed at a random one, not even paying attention to it. I was trapped in his eyes. “Alright sounds good” He said, taking my hand gently and started walking towards the blue slide. I just followed. I felt like I was in heaven. “Thank you god!” I whispered under my breath. We started climbing the stairs to the slide. When we were about half way, he scooped me up into his arms and carried me the rest of the way up. I was the happiest woman alive!
After 5 water slides, I checked my watch and noticed it was almost lunch time. “We better head towards the big bear now” I said, holding his hand. “Alright babe, after you” He said in reply. On our way there, Jonah had to use the bathroom. We stopped and I sat on the bench waiting for him as he went inside. Just then, I heard a scream. It sounded just like Noah!. I frantically stood up and looked around. I heard another scream. Just as I turned to the direction the scream’s were coming from, I seen Noah. I ran over to him as fast as I could. “What’s wrong Noah?” I asked him, out of breath. “I lost Aunty Emily” He replied. I sighed in relief. “It’s ok, were going that way now” I reassured him. “Were just waiting for Jonah to use the ba..” Just before I had a chance to finish, Jonah ran up and glomped me from behind. I laughed. “Where’d he come from?” Jonah asked, looking at Noah. “He ran off I guess, and then he lost our aunt” I replied, smiling.
When we finally got to the rest of them, they were already all sitting at the table. “Oh there you are!” Yelled Aunt Emily, as she got up and ran over to Noah. “You had me really worried!” She added in, looking at him. “I’m ok aunty” He said, reassuring her. “Well let’s sit down and have some lunch shall we?” She asked, feeling a lot better. After lunch, we separated once again. “Lazy River?” I asked. “Sounds good to me” He replied, scooping me up and carrying me once again. When we got to river, he dropped me into a tube. I laughed harder than I have in a long time. After that, we went swimming in the wave pool with the whole gang.
The rest of the day went smoothly. It was actually one of the best days of my life. When we were in the car on the way home, I could not stop looking over at Jonah. He put his arm around me and kissed me passionately. “Ewww!” Noah said, looking at us. Everyone started laughing. “Get a room!” Cameron called out. “You go sis!” Derek said, clapping. I just smiled, and continued kissing him. When we got to Jonahs house, I got out and walked him to the door. We stared into each other’s eyes for a long while. “Dinner tomorrow?” He asked, breaking the silence. “That would be amazing” I replied. He smiled and then said “Pick ya up at 7?” I just nodded, and went in for a goodnight kiss. His lips are so soft. He’s an amazing kisser!.
When we finally got home, I carried Noah into the house and put him to bed. He had fallen asleep in the car. I went into my bedroom and opened up my laptop. I chatted online with my new boyfriend for about an hour, then i dozed off to sleep.
