Chapter 2: Found you
***Chapter 2: Found you***
Andrew sat silently on the bed as the nurse explained he’d need a shot, the cut in his hand was
deep and slowly seeping thick red blood, he glared at the small metal tray where the 5 inch glass
shard sat. Josh had joked that only he could throw himself in front of a car, and place his hand
in a pile of dirty broken glass, Andrew had wanted to hit him.
He had wanted to go home, his legs had felt like jelly and a knock was forming in his stomach, but
Amber had forced them to go to hospital. Just being in the place made Andrew feel sick, all round
people hustled and moved, there were loud voices and cries of pain. He’d hated hospitals since his
father died everything about them made his skin crawl, and the smell of them made his stomach
lurch. Andrew just wanted to leave, he jumped off the bed and glanced into the waiting room, it
was filled with people, young, old, the families of people waiting for anything, by the doors sat
Amber and Josh holding hands tightly.
Sighing he returned to his seat on the bed, there was no way he could sneak pasted them, he felt
tears well up in his eyes. Why couldn’t they understand he just wanted to go home, and wallow in
his pain. He saw the curtain move and the nurse walked back in chatting in the sing song voice of
hers, he was sure she though he was a child. Finally the nurse released him into Josh’s and
Amber’s care, telling them he needed plenty of rest, he’d had a nasty shock. Josh had sniggered
all the war back to the car.
The ride back to Andrew’s apartment was dreadful the car filled with uneasy silence and glances.
No one mentioned what had made Andrew run, and Andrew didn’t offer any reasons. When they finally
pulled up Andrew practically through himself out of the car, not wanting to feel Josh’s unspoken
hurt, or see Amber’s pity filled eyes. He had almost made it to the door when Josh grabbed his arm
spinning him around to face him.
‘Andrew, are you alright man?’
‘Yeah, my hand doesn’t hurt that much it...’
‘I meant about before...’
Andrew stared mutely at Josh, a lump clawed into his throat; he forced it down and placed a smile
on his face. ‘Yeah, I mean, it was a shock and all.’
Relief clearly flowed over Josh and a smile appeared on his handsome face, he pulled Andrew into a
tight embrace, the warmth from his body made Andrew feel safe, he allowed his eyes to close for a
second, letting his mind pretend that Josh was finally his, just of a moment.
‘Tell me its ok man. Tell me you’re happy.’
‘It’s...okay.’
Josh pulled away and ruffled up his hair before head back down towards the car, away from Andrew
and closer to Amber, who sat looking at Andrew with pain filled eyes. Andrew quickly turned and
retreated inside the safety of his home, tears slowly began to trail down his face and a sob
threaten to tear from his throat.
Andrew didn’t know how long he sat on the cold floor leant against the door, but as he shoot he
noticed that the sun was starting to set and his head pounded. He took out the tablets that the
doctor had told him to take and downed two of them before collapsing on his bed.
Christian sat behind the large mahogany desk and stared out of the windows watching the people as
the passed underneath him. Christian liked this office, he could see half the city from up here
and as they where one way it gave him a sense of Godliness, he could see them but they could not
see him. He smirked and thought back to this morning, he had men tracking down the drive and owner
of the car and he knew they would be dealt with but the other matter. Standing he lent against the
cool glass searching the people below, Andrew was out there somewhere, he closed his eyes and
thought back to the brief glance he got of the boy, his large grey eyes wide in shock, honey
blonde hair falling about his face like a halo and full pink lips. Christian groan and felt his
body react to just the memory of the boy, he wanted to taste those pink lips and see how the boy’s
eyes would darken and filled with need as Christian pushed into his small body. A knock at the
door caused Christian to open his eyes, without turning he called for the intruder to enter.
‘Sir, we believe we have found the boy you wanted.’
Christian smiled and felt his cock twitch, ‘bring a car around.’
‘Sir?’
Christian looked over his shoulder at the other man, ‘I am going to see this Andrew, I feel I
should at least thank him in person.’
The phone ripped Andrew out of his sleep, forcing his eyes to open he reached out and picked up
the offending item.
‘He...’ he coughed and tried to clear the sleep from his mind and throat, ‘hello?’
‘Andrew?’
Andrew felt a cold wave wash over him, Amber’s voice again said his name, he wanted to tell her to
leave him alone, but he knew they would have to talk at some point.
‘Yeah Amber it’s me.’
‘Can we meet up?’
Andrew took a deep breath, he wanted nothing more then to curl back up and sleep but he knew that
would help no one, he slowly stood, his legs felt like jelly and his head still pounded.
‘Sure, where?’
‘In Acorn Park, at 4.’
Andrew agreed and placed the phone back on the hook, forcing himself to the bathroom to shower and
change, as he walked out the door he felt his stomach flip. Josh was his best friend he should be
happy for him, and for Amber to but how could he be happy when he loved Josh, he’d loved him ...
Andrew shook his head and turned away from the safety of his home and began to walk towards the
park, he didn’t notice the dark car sat opposite his home, nor the men who watched in from within
it.
Christian watched as the boy walked away from his home, his head was bowed and his face pale.
‘Sir, should I stop him?’
Christian watched hungrily as the boy turned and walked down the road, he just wanted to reach out
and run his hands through his blonde hair, taking a deep breath me answered his driver.
‘No, just follow him, for the moment.’
As Andrew reached the park he looked around searching for Amber, he spotted her sitting on a small
bench over looking the pond; he slowly began to walk toward her. He dropped down next to her,
making her jump and smile nervously at him, an uncomfortable silence stretch between them. Andrew
watched the way the ducks moved around the pond, he could smell her perfume, it was sweet and
flowery, and he jumped when her hand gently cupped his face turning Andrew to face her.
'I'm sorry Andrew; I tried to tell Josh that was the wrong way to tell you about our...' she
trailed off turning away.
'Getting married.' Andrew replied flatly, he wanted to scream, to shout, do anything but sit
listing to Amber tell him how sorry she was. He didn't want her to be sorry, she loved Josh like
he did, she made Josh happy...he wanted Josh to be happy. Andrew gently squeezed her hand about to
tell her it was ok, he knew that she loved Josh and Josh loved her, he was happy for them when the
scream of car tires made him turn. Three men in business suits stepped out of the dark car, one
walked towards him.
'Andrew Matthews?'
'Yes.'
The man grabbed his arm and pulled him to his feet, 'Christian wants you...'
‘Who? What the hell do you want? Let go of me!’
Andrew tried to break the man’s grip on him but the man jump held him and dragged him towards a
black car, he felt like a child who had run away.
Amber ran behind them and tried to help Andrew, her small fists hit the man’s back, ‘let him go!
Help police! Help!’
The man spun dragging Andrew with him, his hand connected with Amber’s face, the hit knocked her
sideways, her face turned red and tears sprang into her large eyes.
‘This is nothing to do with you miss.’
Andrew tried to fight, he kicked at the man and dug his fingers into the man’s arm and hand,
yelling and screaming, he noticed people turn and stared, a few had their phones out, but no one
dared to interfere with what was happening. The man suddenly stopped and shoved Andrew, Andrew
stumbled and felt warm strong arms wrap around his waist, pulling him backwards into the car.
Trying to force his body to turn he stared up into the face of the man who he had helped out that
morning.
‘Hello Andrew, I’ve been looking for you.’
