Mind Games?

Silence... that's all she wanted... was complete silence. But she wasn't able to get it. After going back upstairs, she and Amanda began making those muffins, and were soon putting them into the oven as the guys came back in from outside, Mike with them.... She didn't want to think about why he stood out in her mind, but the thought had her body reacting as she felt her face flush slightly, humming a response as Ross said it was time to get the game going again.
Ugh, that stupid game. If only that was the main thought on her mind.
"You feeling okay Melanie?" Amanda was soon asking of her friend. Malanie hadn't realized how red her face was until then.
"Yeah, just warm." She stated, and was soon, following the guys into the other room. Of course, she didn't notice until now. Her seat was RIGHT across from Mike's... This would be interesting. But she moved around the table none the less and sat with a slight sigh. All she could do was pick up her knitting and try not to look at him as Ross droned on and they began a 'battle'... pretty much the guys doing all the work, and her and Amanda just rolling what dice they were told to roll.
All seemed to be going well for the first half hour... and then she felt it... ever so lightly. Something was rubbing against her foot. She paused in her knitting to look up and glance at everyone at the table. No one was looking at her suspiciously. So down he gaze would move under the table.... Son of a bitch.
There was Mike's foot, rubbing ever so slightly against her own... and soon, moving to her ankle. She'd have just pulled her foot away.... She should have... but why was her heart racing? it was the oddest thing. If he had done that earlier, she would have pulled away, and felt so awkward.. but after that kiss... She felt her face heating up again as she tried to focus on her knitting.
"Mel?" That pulled her from her thoughts as she looked up to Ross with a blink.
"Huh?" She needed to get a hold of herself... she wasn't usually distant like this.
"You just took 6 points of damage." He'd state, causing her to move and write it on her character sheet.... Oh no. What ever would she do?
It moved again. His foot moved again, and began to lightly rub up her jean clad calf. What was he doing?! And since when had Mike become this... flirtatious?! The thought had her fingers fumbling before with a deep breath, she was soon setting down her knitting. She needed to calm herself. And now.
The sound of the buzzer from the kitchen was like heavenly music to her ears. She bumped the table as she stood and spoke. “I'll get them Amanda.” She state quickly before she was moving out of the room.... rushing out would be more precise. And to the kitchen to pull out the heavenly muffins she would, her mind for a moment forgetting the incident in the office where the game was being played... forgetting that searing kiss as she placed them on the counter...
She came back with her wits about her and a plate of hot muffins. There were no other incidents for the next hour or so. Of course it helped that she was keeping her legs close to her, and not sprawled out under the table. But as the next break was called, she would be up, stretching once more with Amanda before the girls would had out of the room, filing after the guys who were retreating to the deck once more.
“Hey, I'm gonna walk Donna, wanna come?” Amanda was soon asking as she hooked her little dog to a harness, her gaze on Melanie... And she contemplated... she could... but her thin jacket... best not to be out for long periods...
“I'll stay up here.” She responded, getting a nod before Amanda was off with the dog, and Melanie was sitting on the couch, flipping through the channels boredly. That is until the deck door opened and in came Mike. She felt herself pause for a moment, but refused to think anything of him moving to the couch, and sitting by her. She refused to think about earlier.
“It's cold out there.” He soon state, She could feel his eyes on her... he was looking for a reaction. Like hell she was going to give it to him.
“Yeah, well, it's called winter for a reason.” She managed out with a hint of humor, giving him a quick glance before looking back to the TV. A few minutes passed, and nothing... Her heart slowed, and things seemed normal. She liked normal. It was comfortable and familiar. But all of it was going to change. For he took those few minutes to plan... He had to have to pull out what he'd done.
He managed to slip an arm around her and pull her toward him, causing a gasp to leave her lips before all at once, his mouth was on hers once again. Once more in that passionate kiss as he held her tight, pressing her against him as his mouth hungrily searched hers. The most disturbing part of it was... her mouth began to reciprocate! She felt that familiar moan come from her throat as her chest pressed against his, and the feeling of his hand moving over her thigh.
The sound of the door opening pulled her from her lost moment. She never felt herself move so fast as not only did her lips leave his, but she managed out of his grip and way onto the other side of the couch before Amanda was fully inside yet.
She could feel her face burn and her heart race. What was that?! All she wanted to do was ask! Ask him why he kept doing that, and why in the hell did she like it so much?! It was the most confusing thing in the world.
“Amanda.... do you have any wine?” She was soon asking as she stood, and moved toward her friend that was currently pulling off her coat.
“Yeah, you want some?” Melanie knew she would never suspect the request to be anything odd. They often drank together, though Amanda could not now because she was pregnant.
“Yes please.” Was her only response as she followed the woman into the kitchen. She would think about the Mike thing another time. Right now she wanted to relax... and in order to do that, she needed alcohol. Lots and lot of alcohol.
