Enya Phoenix Collin Hunter
~Chapter 1~
It was a sunny June morning at St. Barnabus’ Academy, a high school in New York. Outside the school’s church, students were dressed in blue robes and caps, the signature garb for graduates. The graduation for the class of 2008 had just finished and every former senior was enjoying it with friends, family and to-be former teachers. Among the former high school students, there was one in particular who was enjoying the festivities the most.
Enya Phoenix smiled down at the diploma in her hand. It was the one she had received not even an hour ago, at her high school graduation. She was still wearing her sky blue robe, but had taken off her cap and had given it to her parents. That cap was itchy. After four whole years of struggling, research papers, strict nuns, and SAT’s, she finally had it in her hand. Her family was proud of her because they knew how hard it was for her, especially senior year. Her friends all looked happy to finally graduate. They had all promised to keep in touch over the summer, so Enya was glad that they wouldn’t all be completely separated from each other. Best of all, she was just accepted into the college of her dreams. So was her best friend, Collin Hunter.
Said best friend walked up behind her. He was wearing a blue graduation robe also, only it was navy. “Graduation with Honors. Not bad,” he smirked. “But you didn’t get valedictorian.”
Enya turned to pout up at him. “Not all of us can be a genius like you, Collin.”
Collin shrugged his shoulders, which were covered with some ribbons and awards he’d gained over his high school years. He was still smirking cockily, which to Enya looked incredibly hot, considering the fact that Collin was a certified geek-a-zoid.
“I’m not saying that everyone should be smart as me,” he said with mock arrogance. “After all, the less competition the better.”
Enya punched him on the shoulder playfully. Then she looked up at him questioningly. “Want to go do something with me tonight?”
Collin blinked, shocked. “Are you serious?”
The short girl nodded with an unwavering smile on her face. “The guys want to go do something as a sort of graduation celebration.”
“Oh.” Collin silently berated himself. For a moment he thought that she meant something for the two of them alone. That was all he wanted at the moment, for them to be alone and talk to each other like in elementary school. When they entered high school, Enya started expanding friends. She still included him in her group, but he wanted at least a moment alone with her. Not really to secretly tell her of his feelings per se; her presence was enough for her.
He cleared his throat. “Um, actually En, I was wondering if we could just go to a movie or something,” he paused. “Just the two of us.”
Enya’s eyes widened. Alone with Collin? That was like a dream come true for her. She had figured out long ago that she harbored feelings for her childhood friend. He was always there for her during the really tough times in high school. He never hesitated to lend a shoulder to cry on. Sure, to some people, Collin wasn’t a very attractive boy. His blond hair was always messy and his glasses had thick rims. His skin wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t covered with zits or anything. Despite that, not many girls look at him and see beyond appearances. But most of his physical flaws were what Enya loved about him. His imperfections were what made him different from other boys, in Enya’s eyes. She was ready to tell him of her feelings, but she was afraid of rejection. She knew Collin would be nice about it, after all they were friends, but afterward things would be awkward between them. She didn’t want to ruin their friendship.
Still, the opportunity to have him alone with her was not something Enya wanted to pass up.
“Sure,” she answered smiling wide. “My parents are going out of town next week for their anniversary, so we could have the house all to ourselves.”
“Okay,” Collin couldn’t help but smile goofily. “So I guess I’ll see you next week?”
“Yeah,” Enya’s smile was goofy too.
Both teenagers stood in front of each other awkwardly, shifting nervously. Neither was sure who should leave first. Finally, it was Enya who turned her body halfway to leave. She looked back at Collin over her shoulder, her smile lighting up her face as usual.
“See ya,” she said.
Collin lifted up a hand, giving her a small wave. “See ya.”
He watched her back as she walked away to join her parents, who were talking to one of Enya’s teachers. He suddenly felt like an anvil had dropped onto his stomach. He didn’t like the feeling all that much. It gave the foreboding thought that he would never see her again. Collin tried to shake it off as paranoia. After so many years of them being together, he feared that he and Enya would finally separate and lose each other in the college halls. That was probably where that feeling manifested. He just feared he would barely see her anymore, not that he would never see her again, period. That was just silly.
So, why did he still feel that way…?
Before Collin could further think it over, he felt an arm wrap around his neck in a chokehold. He at first felt fear, but then he recognized the grip.
“Kay,” he gritted his teeth.
Attached to the arm was a scruffy looking red-head with jovial brown eyes. He wasn’t dressed in a robe because he was Collin’s older brother, who had graduated two years ago from another school, which was similar to this one. He had tan skin from being in the sun for too long and he was wearing a smile.
“Hey little brother,” Kay greeted. “Did I just hear you make date plans with Ms. Phoenix? The girl you’ve been crushing on since…” He paused, pretending to think with his finger curled around his chin. Then he looked back at the boy standing behind him. “How long has it been Jade?”
The boy, Jade had soft brown hair and jade green eyes. His body was thin and his muscles were lean. He was slightly shorter than Kay and looked a lot calmer by comparison. Still, his eyes held amusement and he was smiling at the two brothers.
Jade teased Collin as well. “I’d say about five to six years?”
Kay nodded, his grip on Collin loosening. “Yeah, that’s about it. And you plan on having her alone in her own house? You naughty boy, you. I guess you did inherit my genes after all.” He laughed.
Collin’s eye twitched and he ducked out of his brother’s grip. He glared up at the twenty-one year old. “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Whoa, chill Collin,” Kay put his hands up in defense. “Jade and I just wanted to see you graduate, that’s all.”
Collin calmed down some. “Why? I thought you were busy.”
Kay rolled his eyes. “It’s called, the element of surprise, Collin.”
Jade smirked. “That and your brother wanted to see how the nuns would react to seeing two gay guys making out in their church.”
Collin restrained a smirk. “You didn’t.”
“Well, he wanted to, but I stopped him,” he replied rolling his eyes playfully. “Your brother and his hormones.”
Kay glared playfully down at his lover. “You didn’t have to tell him that. And anyway, you were just horny as I was.”
Collin put his hands on his ears. “Too much info, guys.”
“Sorry,” both Jade and Kay replied.
The younger boy laughed. Some guys wouldn’t take too kindly that their older brother was gay, but Collin had learned to live with it. After all, Kay was the only family he had left. He didn’t want to lose him over something as ridiculous as homophobia.
Kay’s eyes softened when he looked down at his brother. “Mom and dad would have been proud of you, little brother.”
Collin stopped laughing and looked seriously at his brother. His throat had tightened and it had gotten hard to swallow his own spit. That’s how much their parents’ death affected him, even if it had been over five years since the accident. Still, he liked to remember his parents as they were: happy and loving. Without a word, Collin went in to hug his brother.
“Thanks Kay,” he said softly.
Five years ago, the brothers’ parents had been in an awful automobile accident. After that, the boys stayed with their grandmother until Kay was old enough to take care of Collin. Throughout that time, both boys had their little lights to save them from complete darkness. For Collin, it was Enya. For Kay, it was Jade. Before they met them, both Kay and Collin were a wreck. Collin wouldn’t speak to anyone and lost most of his friends because he had become hostile. Kay was less cheerful and picked a lot of fights to let out his anger on the world. It just wasn’t fair. Why did they have to die? That was what both boys thought, and they would have continued thinking it too if they didn’t eventually figure out they were loved and cared for, by their grandmother (who had passed away the year before), and their friends/lovers/crushes Jade and Enya.
Jade stayed silent as the brothers embraced for a few brief moments. He had never met Kay or Collin’s parents, but he saw pictures of them. They were always smiling and they showed they loved their children. He sometimes felt envious of the brothers; his parents never loved him.
When the brothers separated, Kay looked down at his brother, a mischievous glint in his eye. “So, just how are going to fuck Enya?”
Collin flushed as he went back to glaring at his brother. “It’s nothing like that, okay?”
Kay continued, ignoring his brother’s comment. “You’re going to have to be dominant. Chicks dig dominance. Of course, all girls are different, so some might like being dominant over the man. That’s hot too, most of the time. Enya might be the kind of girl who’d like it gentle…”
(Note: Just because he’s gay does not mean that Kay hasn’t been around the block with girls as well as guys).
Collin groaned as he continued. He pinched the bridge of his nose and kept shaking his head in disbelief. Jade stood next to him, chuckling, both at Kay’s info on having sex and Collin’s growing red face.
~1~
I waited patiently at my desk until I heard the Phoenix’s car drive in and park in their parking space near their house. Immediately I went to the window and opened the shades just a tiny bit and saw them get out of the car. I paid no attention to the parents though. My eyes only focused on Enya, my love.
She looked so beautiful. Her hair was blown out and straight. Her face was covered with just the right amount of make-up, even though she really didn’t need it. But, she looked so beautiful anyway. Her lips were coated with glossy lip-gloss that made her all ready luscious lips all the more kissable. Her robe was unzipped, revealing a pure white dress—a color suitable for her—that looked tight across her chest. It made part of her breasts stick out and they bounced teasingly as she walked to the front door. I felt my mouth salivating. I wanted her. I wanted her here and now.
She does this on purpose, I swear! She teases me with that lovely body of hers. She wants me to have my way with her, that’s the message she’s trying to send to me. Oh, I’ll have my way with you Enya Phoenix. And you’ll like it so much that you’ll want it again, and again, and again.
But don’t you worry, my sweet. The wait is over, for the both of us. We’ll each get our desires fulfilled soon. Very soon.
