Keepsakes: Chapter 2
Disclaimer: Yes, Keepsakes belongs to me. As do Saomi and Kiba and all their friends and family members. The plot is also my own. Don’t like it? Well, I’m sorry to hear that. Tell me in your review.
I’m not all about rushing into this one. I want to take my time with it and just let it play out on it’s own. So please review and let me know if you think any changes should be made.

Soft, damp hair pressed against his cheek as he held the younger boy tightly in his arms. Just being near Kiba brought a sense of calm and peace to his restless spirit. It never ceased to amaze him how the warmth of his smile and the scent of sweet peas and lavender that Kiba had always made him feel like a completely different person.
During his stay in a foreign country, Saomi figured his bond with Kiba would weaken. Only to find, that, upon returning to Tokyo, his feelings for the other boy had intensified. He wished he could just write it off as Kiba’s damn good looks.
Kiba was about nine inches shorter than him, but not at all short for his age. Saomi would say that his height was the only thing average about his friend. He was lean and muscular because he played soccer and ran track and that made his form all the more appealing to the girls at school, and him. He had honey brown hair that came to about the middle of his neck that was cut stylishly for a laid back kid like him. He had eyes the color of the ocean set into an elven face that radiated boyish charm and intelligence. Saomi had the full honors of watching his friend grow into the dish he’d become, and he was impressed with the results, to say the least.
Saomi had been nothing if not a passionate, loyal friend to Kiba for three years. And while he was no longer a fool to the infatuation and love he felt for the high-spirited ten, Kiba was still young and in a fragile situation with his mother’s illness. Just the same, Saomi knew he could not control his jealous thoughts of Kiba belonging to another, and he refused to not give all the affection he rightly deserved. From the very first time he laid eyes on Kiba, he swore he would only bring comfort and happiness to him, even if it cost him everything.
Saomi was startled to feel Kiba return the embrace enthusiastically without hesitating. He knew Kiba had missed him, but the full force of his friend’s loneliness caused an unbearable ache in his stomach.
‘If I make my decision tonight, will it be the right one?’ This question was sure to plague him for the rest of the night, but he needed to know. ‘I don’t want to leave him alone again. Ever.’
“Saomi?” The fabric of Saomi’s shirt muffled Kiba’s voice, but he didn’t pull away.
“Hm?”
“Can we go to the park?” Kiba asked. His shy request made him smile. He couldn’t think of a better place to talk.
“Come on.” Replied Saomi and he led Kiba over to the passenger side of the Mercedes.
“Saomi?” Started Kiba. They had been at the park for an hour, and very few words had been exchanged between them. They found a nice spot along the four and a half foot wall surrounding the lake that was concealed by brush and trees from the walker’s path where it was quiet and had a great view of the moon reflecting off the water. Here, Kiba rested his head on his arms that were crossed on top of the thick slab of cement. If Saomi wasn’t going to initiate a conversation, then he had some questions he wanted to get off his chest. When he could feel the blonde’s eyes on him, he continued. “Do you think it’s wrong for two boys to act like we do?”
“Like what?” Saomi asked and walked up behind Kiba to lazily drape his arms around him.
“Like… This.” Kiba could practically feel Saomi smiling behind him, but he didn’t move, not even when the taller boy rest his chin on his shoulder.
“Well. In most case scenarios, yes, it is considered ‘wrong’ what we do. But I feel that we are very different from average boys. Why? Does it make you uncomfortable, Kiba?” Saomi’s voice was low and sultry near Kiba’s ear, causing goose bumps to form on his skin.
“Not really. I’m sure if any other guy walked up and wrapped his arms around me, he’d be walking away with a black eye. But when it’s you, it just feels… natural.” As Kiba spoke, Saomi could feel his heart rise into his throat with joy, but at the same time, with eyes were filled with sadness.
‘Can I really do this?’ In Saomi’s mind, he could only think of Kiba’s rejection, even when his selfish heart was desperate for an answer. Sighing softly, be buried his face in the crook of Kiba’s neck and closed his eyes. At this rate, it was going to be a long night. ‘Why am I so afraid?’

A/N: So here’s the second chapter. I hope you enjoyed it. I’m trying to post at least on chapter a day so far, but it is difficult when I work twelve hours a day then I have to come home and actually transfer the chapter from paper onto my computer, so please bear with me, because I’m really giving it my all. Please review and let me know if it’s even worth my time putting this story on here. Thanks!
