Chapter 2 - Faster Kill Pussycat

"Hello there." Cavan said to the man who was looking at him like a deer caught in headlights

Adreyn was in complete shock at him. His voice seemed to resonate within him, rumbling from the large chest that the black shirt gave indication that he was quite well built underneath it.

He just stared at him, at a loss as to what to say to him. No one had ever made him this flustered before, and he doubted that anyone could. Just looking at him, he made note of the rise and fall of that gorgeous chest, sensing rather then seeing the fluttering of his heart as he pounded within him. Adreyn swore he could feel it pulsing within his own blood, the reaction to the man in front of him that great.

Cavan on the other hand was looking at him in near wonder. Never had he seen a more beautiful man. His hair was wrapped up, but it curled slightly at the ends of it, making him wonder what it would look like wet and dripping. He hadn't been completely attracted to men, mostly dating women, but this man awoke desires in him that he didn't think he would ever feel again.

"I say hello again?" Cavan said now an amused tone coming into his voice

But Adreyn was still dumbstruck by him and was rendered speechless. Cavan slightly narrowed his eyes, wondering if the man was a mute. Slowly sitting down beside him, the man still staring at him followed his movements with his eyes and settled on his face as Cavan looked away from him for a moment to see if he could get the attention of a waiter.

This however was enough for the mesmerizing spell that had been weaving and Adreyn realized what had just happened. He gasped which brought back the attention of the red head that he had been staring at.

"Oh so you do have a voice." Cavan drawled, his slight Irish accent making his speech lyrical. "My name is Cavan. Cavan Donnelly. And yours?" he asked wanting to hear the man's voice. The gasp had given him an idea of his tone, but he wanted to hear his voice.

"Please....please go away..." Adreyn whispered, contradicting what he really wanted, but he wasn't stupid. Someone that could affect him THAT quickly was very dangerous for his self and he wasn't dumb enough to let this person get close to him.

"No...I don't think so." Cavan said with a smile that belied what he really felt. What he really wanted to do was run his fingers through that gorgeous hair that looked like silk. He wanted to find out if it felt like it too.

"Please..." Adreyn pleaded, so incredibly scared of his feelings. He could not let someone close. That equalled the death to his sanity, something that he only had a small grasp on.

"Please what, little one?" Cavan said moving a bit closer to the startled man. He could see that he was younger then him, though sitting down they were close in height. Given how tall he himself was, he suspected that it was just a smidgen difference.

"Don't...come closer." Adreyn whispered, his posture rigid. If he relaxed for just a moment, his inner mind would latch onto the man in front of him and never let him go. He knew he could not allow that.

Cavan began to realize that something was definitely wrong with the man in front of him. His posture and words to him, indicated one hell of a deep hurt. He had no idea what had gone on, but for him to be so incredibly scared of him without even saying barely any words to him, startled him and he did not know what to make of it.

"I won't hurt you. I don't know what had ever hurt you, but I am not like them, and I won't ever do anything you don't want me to." Cavan said, speaking like he was talking to a wounded animal and not a gorgeous human being

"Please...don't..." Adreyn said, slightly backing away from Cavan.

"Geal leannán. Never be afraid of me. I won't hurt you." Cavan said, slipping into Gaelic as he could see the near terror within the beautiful gold eyes. He could see them swirling, adding flecks of bright gold into the irises.

"What....did you just call me?" Adreyn asked, the melodic word intriguing him

"Geal leannán" Cavan said moving closer to him, but slowly as to not frighten him. The flecks were still there, making his eyes almost seem like they were glowing. He off-hand wondered what they would be doing in the throes of passion

"What are you doing to me?" Adreyn whispered softly. He felt so strange inside. Languid and almost floating but wondrous at the same time. He had never felt like this before and it was so strange to him

"I know what I would like to do to you, but something tells me that THAT would be a bad idea. So how about just getting to know each other. You know my name, what is yours." Cavan said, seeing this beautiful man so skittish. It hurt him deeply that someone could do that to him and he vowed to make the person, or persons that did something to him pay for what they had done. He could see that this was a gentle soul, and from his posture had been denied love. He was not sure of where that intuition came from, but he knew it bone deep.

"Adreyn...my name is Adreyn" he whispered softly

"That's a beautiful name. It matches you" Cavan said slowly moving himself closer to him. He could see that he had not relaxed, but he was not as skittish as he was

"Thank you." Adreyn said, now getting incredibly shy. Which considering how uninhibited he usually was on stage was rather strange.

"So what would you like to drink?" Cavan asked leaning back into the plush cushion that made up the chair that they were sitting on.

"I don't...I don't drink alcohol." Adreyn said softly. He just could not get the energy to speak any louder, unconsciously making Cavan move closer so that he could hear him.

"No worries. Drinking can get you into a lot of trouble, and you always pay for it." Cavan said, trying his hardest not to move closer to the man. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around the man and not ever let him go. Seeing this beautiful, gentle soul and to have his spirit so crushed that he could not bear to be near people, hurt him in ways that he could not fathom. He wondered briefly if he would be able to, but suspected that he would not be able to.

"Thank you for understanding." Adreyn said, once again nearly whispering. The DJ had been currently been currently playing just ambient music like that from Kelli Ali, whom he loved listening to. As he was looking out into the crowd he saw his nemesis walk over to the DJ and he suspected that the music was about to move faster. As he saw Aldwin lean over the DJ he saw the man smile his way and wave. Groaning, he caught his agent smirk and walk away to his table and sat down, a satisfied smirk still on his face, making Adreyn cringe inside. He knew Aldwin could not resist drawing him out into the spotlight, his own perverse way of not allowing Adreyn to fall. He did appreciate it, but loathed it at the same time.

"I don't like how that man is smirking at you." Cavan said suddenly, looking towards the direction that Adreyn had been glancing

"I don't like the way the man dressed me, but I don't have too much of a choice" Adreyn said with more life in his voice then Cavan had seen within the 20 minutes that he had been with him.

"He dressed you? I think at your age you can dress yourself." Cavan said not exactly understanding

"You would think, but no. Apparently my choice in clothing would not be approved. Anyways, I think our time is at an end." Adreyn said showing even more life, letting Cavan hear the rhythmic and melodic tones of his voice greater then he had when he had been speaking softly

"Why is that?" Cavan said curious

"Because I think I am going to be having to work. I did enjoy our conversation, but please, do not talk to me again." Adreyn said moving himself out of the cushion chair and sliding up. Moving away from the table, Cavan then got a good look at his future lover, not that there was any question about that now, and stared. The tee shirt fit him incredibility well, and the pants left nothing to the imagination, showcasing his sweet ass. Even from where he was, he could see it full and round so phenomenally small, he itched to get his hands onto it and see if it was as plush as it looked.

"Don't count on it. I will find you again, that I promise. Then you are going to give me that promise of your body." Cavan whispered to him as he watched Adreyn walk into the crowd on the dance floor

---------------------- ♠ ------------------------------

"Adreyn, time to get to work" Aldwin said as Adreyn came over to the table. Adreyn saw that he was nursing a white wine in his hand and was not exactly sitting, but more inspecting his venue.

"Why are you doing this now?" Adreyn said standing in front of the source of his usual headaches.

"Because I can. Come on, I let you brood for 4 hours in that corner. Time now to shake that money maker of mine." Aldwin said unabashed at what he had just said

"That doesn't mean I want to do this." Adreyn said slowly, knowing that his boss wasn't going to let this go

"Too bad. Besides, I saw that red haired hunk at your table. I didn't think you were into men. If I had known that, well..." Aldwin said slyly

"I am not into anyone. I told you that years ago." he said staring down at his boss

"You are such a liar. I saw your eyes. You were attracted to him. So don't even think of lying to me. You won't get away with it. I won't let you. Now then, get ready. I set up a song for you to do. Remember there are photographers here so give them a good show. And that red haired man is still there." his agent said as Adreyn could see his assistant in the background behind the DJ. He could see that there was a new outfit there and he sighed. He wanted to get out of here so that he could sort out his feelings for that man. Now he would have to perform in front of him, showing him a side of him that he was not sure if he was ready for. That man had seen into his soul, he was sure of it, and his performances always teetered on the edge of that.

"You win." Adreyn said as he walked over to the doorway as Rangios was there to help him

To noone in particular he said to himself "I always win" and sipped his white wine

--------------------------- ♠ -----------------------------------------

"Cavan! What are you doing over here!" Dante said as he saw his friend sitting in the booth, watching the exchange between the two men. He could see his future lover looking very upset at the man, and he wondered what was going on.

"Cavannnnnnnnn!!!!!! Are you paying attention!" Dante exclaimed, nearly bouncing in place. He then looked over at what he was staring so intently and saw the organizer of the party and the star player. He then glanced at Cavan and he was surprised to see such an intense look on his face. He kinda wondered what was going on but was not sure if he wanted to know. He looked pissed and mad. In all his years of knowing his friend he had never seen that particular expression and he wasn't sure what that meant. And for whom.

"Dante...shut up." Cavan said slowly, concentrating on his lover and in no mood for his child-like friend

"What burr got up your butt?" Dante said at least relieved that he was at least acknowledging that he was present.

"You don't want to know. What DO you know about Adreyn?" he asked bluntly. He wanted to know as much as he could before he bed him. It was no longer a matter of if he would, but when and how much time would pass before he did.

"Not much. He doesn't talk about himself. All his interviews were always on his music or the concerts." Dante said, not realizing that Cavan had no idea who he was.

"Music? Is he one of the back up singers or something?" Cavan asked, not paying attention but seeing that a dejected look past his future lovers face and it made him want to go over there and hold him close. 'He shouldn't be sad' he thought to himself, not realizing that Dante was paying attention to every emotion on his face.

"Or something. Look Cav, maybe it was a bad idea making you walk over there. Let's get out of here and I will take you to a place where we can turn that frown upside down." Dante said wanting his friend to smile. Right now currently the look on his face was very scary. He looked like he was going to tear the place apart and Dante had not seen that look on his face in a very long time. It was most definitely something he had not ever wanted to see again.

"I am not going anywhere without Adreyn." was all Cavan said and to him, the discussion was closed. To Dante, he was looking at him in complete shock. 'He's already in love with him. Oh crap!' was all Dante could think of

"Cavan, they won't let you near him. Please, let's just go before you get into trouble" Dante said now worried.

"I highly doubt that they can stop me. He will be in my bed, make no mistake on that." Cavan said slowly to his friend, as he sipped the remnants of Adreyn's iced tea and watched his love go backstage. At that he stood up and almost in a trance began to walk towards him. Only to be stopped by two very large men. Both had their hands folded over their large chests and looked down at him, almost daring him to move closer. However Cavan had been dealing with things like this all throughout his career. Dante knew about him being one of the top Kendo masters, but was unaware of what he did for the Emperor.

In the many years since most countries had amalgamated and become one large country, tensions had always been high, but he was one of the elite enforcers for the Emperor. Only his liaison knew of this, as Cavan had not actually worked with the Emperor or his family, but worked through the liaison. He had heard of a child about 13 years ago, that disappeared. The enforcers job was to find him, though he had not ever heard why it was so important, but they had made it a priority. It was of course well before his time, but in that time, the mandate had not changed.

"Young man, you are not going anywhere." a British voice said from behind him. Turning around he saw the man that had made his love upset, and he had to hold every fibre of his being inside to prevent him from slugging him.

"Let. Me. Pass." Cavan said, keeping his control intact, in the attempt to control his desire to push through

"I don't think so. I saw you looking at him and it is my job to prevent fans like you from getting near him. Though I am surprised that you had gotten as close as you did." Aldwin said, the last part lower

"He is mine. He knows this, he just is having a very hard time understanding this. But he will. With time and understanding. So please move aside." Cavan said smoothly. Aldwin just looked at the man in complete shock. He seemed SO confidant of Adreyn's feelings, ones that even with knowing him for three years, he had never seen a glimpse of. Only when others attempted to touch him or when he had suggested wearing pants that barely hid nothing. Even himself had not seen him naked or even close to it. Only Rangios had.

"He is the world's, not just yours." Aldwin said trying to ascertain what this man's real intentions were.

"He is not. He is mine. Only mine." Cavan said and with that shot the two guarding the way a look that would have frozen time itself.

"He isn't a possession. He is a person." Aldwin said still trying to stop the man.

"He is a fragile flower that has barely had any water and is about to die. I am his water. Now GET OUT OF MY WAY" Cavan said and with that, moved the other men out of his way with a firm sweep of his legs and sent them sprawling to the ground. He then glared at Aldwin, daring him to move into his way. The agent admitted defeat and moved himself aside, allowing Cavan to move inside to where Adreyn was.

------------------------------ ♠ ----------------------------------

"Master, you don't look well." the Maori said to his master, old habits dying hard from when he had been in service to the young prince. It had been him that had tended the wounds from his relatives when they had beaten him. He never understood why, but they would assault him so bad that there were days that he could not even open his eyes. His father King Chelan had called him lazy and stupid, and had lamented about having such a sloth for a son, but no one had informed him of the beatings.

"I know. But Aldwin is insistent. Rangios, I can't keep this up. I really can't." Adreyn said standing up and allowing his loyal servant to adjust the back of the pants that he was in. Both of them knew how important it was to make sure that the tattoo could not be seen, as it would mean him being brought back and most likely put to death by his relatives trying to take the throne. This was why he had been beaten so much as a child. None of them had wanted him to mature to adulthood, as at the age of 25, which he was now, he was considered a full adult and out of their sphere of influence. Only his father and a future wife had any influence over him now, so if they had gotten their hands on him, his life would be forfeit.

He still found it a miracle that he had not been discovered yet, but his relatives were always a stupid bunch.

"I know my lord, but it really was the best thing. You are in plain sight, yet have not been discovered." Rangios said as he finished the last sash that draped along the back of him. He was dressed in a poet's shirt and leather pants that left nothing to the imagination. Very tight and in complete black, it hid more then it showed. Which was how Adreyn liked to dress. He knew that his fans considered him a sex god, and he had gotten more then one invitation to find out what the bedroom would be like, but he was not interested in that.

"I know, but I'm tired. Not only physically, but mentally. I don't know how much more I can do." Adreyn said, his voice fading. Rangios was about to place a hand onto his Master, but he heard a noise coming from outside. Seeing that Adreyn had not noticed it, still so melancholy he moved away, and opened the door.

As he opened it, he heard the statement that the red head had said and gasped. This caught the attention of Adreyn and he walked over to the door. As he looked through the gap, he could see the red head breathing fire at his agent. Something inside him snapped, like a taunt cord and warmth that he had never experienced before began to flow through his body faster then any alcohol that he had ever been given.

"Cavan..." Adreyn whispered in a breathless voice. One that his servant had NEVER heard from him before and wondered who this man was to his prince. Rangios watched as the red head walked past Aldwin and then connected eyes to Adreyn. He himself could hear the heavy breathing that his prince was experiencing and it made him wonder what was going on. But he did not have to wait long as the man reached where they were and looked down at himself and then looked deeply into Adreyn's eyes, sinking into the topaz irises

"Geal leannán..." Cavan whispered back as he brought a hand up to Adreyn's face and reached to cup it. But upon contact, a reaction that Rangios was very familiar with occurred and Adreyn began screaming in sheer terror at his touch.
